"Broken At Love" by USC Grad/Actress Karolina Sivas I usually bake a whole bag for about 20-30 mins on a large cookie sheet with parchment paper, in an even layer. But, it does depend on the size pan you use, and how crispy you like them. 😘
Zainab A interesting! Which middle eastern county do you live in? I'm only asking because I'm very interested in the middle east and I've been learning Arabic for 3 years. I'm from New York
Hi! My sister and i are car camping the US national parks for a month this May. We are both plant-based and I was wondering if you could make a video on easy camping recipes that have only a few ingredients! Thanks!
Tbh just look up regular camping recipes and use substitutions. Stuff in a dutch oven is one of the easiest because you usually just end up dumping everything into the same pot. Can also grill alot of things
@@zawiyaabdi9975 car camping means that you drive up to a camp site... We were sleeping in a tent... I was clarifying that I wasn't backpacking to a camp site or staying in an RV... But ok.
OMG I fell more in love with you after you showed the part where you cooked with oil. I know it's not your preference so it's a bit of a sacrifice to do that just for us. (and Im sure you want those other people out there to stop bitching about you not using oil) I totally give you mad respect, Caitlin. You are the best!!!
Just so you know, this series is literally my favorite. Please keep doing 5 under $5 videos! Maybe you could also do Asian meals, Indian, desserts, snacks, smoothie bowls, tofu recipes, I feel like the possibilities are endless..
Honey I'm pulling out the blender for that nice cream that looks hella good. I'm not even specifically on a vegan diet, though I've considered it, but that looks like a really good lactose intolerant alternative tbh
Girl! Your intro is killin' it & your photography in the thumbnails are the some of the best of all vegan youtubers! Keep up the awesome work friend :) :)
It always bothers me that no vegans TOAST THE TORTILLA!!! All you have to do is heat up a pan and put the tortilla on until toasty. And CORN tortillas are always better for tacos!!!
Casiana S a gringo insulting an entire culture's food is what's disgusting. A lot of Mexicans eat corn tortillas because it's really cheap and easy to make. But your privilege makes you entitled to make these sort of comments because you have more options to eat.
applaudent THANK YOU!✊🏽 People not even knowledgeable on an entire culture making ignorant comments like that drives me crazy 🤦🏽♀️ Wouldn’t understand the flavors and heritage behind the corn tortilla and traditional dishes anyways 🤷🏽♀️
1. I adore your posters behind you in the intro/outro! And 2. I love how you think of everyone when you make your recipes, like having alternatives ready for different people!
I love your "PB banana sushi" idea! I make something like that but I add jam and cut the banana into thin slices so it's more of a PB+J plus banana tortilla.
The recipe for the cookies was perfect. I added a spoon of honey and after they were done baking I sprinkled brown sugar. It was delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
Those tacos and hash browns sound really good! Right now I'm obsessed with pancakes, especially savory ones (with sauteed veggies and a drizzle of miso tahini sauce or tahini sriracha sauce) and warm oatmeal as where I live is winter and cold.
This is the video I was looking for being new to veganism and wanting to see TRULY easy and simplex ideas to get started. Thanks! from 2 years in the future ✌🏼
i prefer to blanch my potatoes until they're almost soft. Then bake them on high for 20 mins with a drop of olive oil and loaded with seasonings(no salt). Always nice and crispy. loved this video!
Literally just came back from Aldi - that peanut butter is 3.39! The natural (but no stir) PB is 1.49 (brown lid). I always get that one because I cannot justify the over 100% price increase btween the two
If you have a griddle or george Forman grill, the hash browns are super simple - no flipping required. Cook them for about 20 - 25 minutes and they are crispy without using any oil.
for the banana nice cream, i recommend putting some chia seeds in and a scoop of protein powder (if you have it!). i have it every morning and i top it up with some nut muesli to get in extra fiber and carbs, it's a super good and filling breakfast! thank you caitlin for an awesome video, as usual! x
I made these hash browns this morning and ooooooh boy they were tasty. I added some left over vegan cheez sauce and a little dollop of vegan sour cream on top. It was so good!
I have a lot of health issues, allergies, and intolerances. And everyone keeps saying veganism is so expencive. The only thing that's expencive is the specialty items, nutritional yeast, and the supplements. I'm highly concidering switching over to veganism once I move to a place with a good store nearby. All we have in a little kroger. Lol
I tried the banana roll or sushi whatever it's called. I tried it and it's amazing. I added a drizzle of honey and a small amount of cinnamon. I didn't have tortillas so I did it with brown bread that is sugar free and whole grains. I took of the crust. I did pretty much the same thing except I substituted a few things and added some things too.
Thanks a lot. I will be trying the Nice cream. It looks so creamy. I use Olive oil from a jar of olives to make my potatoes and it works better using less.
So glad for breakfast and lunch videos! I feel like there are a ton of dinner options for us vegans, but I struggle with having a variety of breakfast options. And I really really struggle with work lunches. I don’t have time to cook lunch in addition to dinner. If you have vegan lunch ideas, I’d love to hear them! I miss being able to just assemble a sandwich at work and be done.
I wanted to comment on the first recipe. I have been frequently eating this for more than a year, just in a dough form instead of cookies. Just in case, I think it is amazing!! Just add a little bit of water or plant milk and you can get something like an oatmeal (and there is no baking time, therefore, the whole preparation process is quicker), and, personally, I just love it. Since I do not like the taste of baked bananas, maybe there is someone else who would appreciate this meal idea too. :)
I love the idea of banana sushi and I’ve been wanting to try this but I was wondering if the banana and peanut butter taste good with the tortilla since it seems like an odd combo. Is there any specific type of tortilla I should use?
I would never be able to do this challenge in New Zealand. We’re pretty expensive here. I could probably get a jar of peanut butter and one banana for $5
Emma Walshe I dont know if you can get this in New Zeland but here (in Panama) they also sell peanut butter in little individual packages that look like individual ketchup packages. Is a bit cheaper. But yes. She is measuring cost per portion and not really what it takes to buy all the ingredients.
Pro tip for a better breakfast burrito - use a can of chili beans. They are just as cheap but come already seasoned in their own sauce, meaning it tastes like a real burrito but still requires no effort. Add some lettuce and tomato/salsa and you’re golden. Or at least cook your black beans in some spices (cumin, cayenne, a little garlic and onion powder maybe) so they’re warm and flavorful and not sad.
You got some great recipes and all your dishes look amazing.. Keep those recipes coming your actually making it easier for me to transfer to a vegan lifestyle..
You could also make whole wheat flour tortillas, they are so tasty but maybe you need a little practice to get them just right.. or you can go with an easier option and make corn tortillas and an even heatlhier option would be blue corn tortillas which have more protein and a lower starch content and lower glycemic index. And they also contain Vitamins A and Thiamine, B2, and niacin.
How long do the cookies cook in the oven & on what setting? Also does anything in that recipe change if you live in higher elevation? I’m thinking I could make these for on the go when I’m studying in Colorado. (:
I eat the same thing for breakfast every day. I have a smoothie bowl with celery juice. I will have to try the banana sushi, the nice cream and the cookies 😊
I'm just binge watching vegan recipe videos. I'm gonna mention going vegan to my parents when they get home, I've mentioned it before and they were hesitant. To let me do it but I'm gonna mention it again and actually tell them my reasoning this time. Hopefully they'll hear me out.
Hey Caitlin u should also try Indian cuisine coz it has bunch of savoury options with lots of veggies n grains u just need few spices that we put in every thing...
I made the cookies and they were so nice!! I added cinnamon and a bit of chopped dark chocolate :)) they were surprisingly filling for being so small, it makes sense because it uses over double the amount of oats in those cookies than I use in a bowl of porridge. I ate 3 as a “snack” and was too full to eat lunch haha
OMG, thank you for this video 💖 Most of the other "breakfast idea" videos are smoothies or cereal in a jar... 😩
So true, these are easy to make and completely realistic. I can't wait to make some of these.
I hate it 🤪
Or way too expensive for broke people, These are actually affordable!
Rightttt like I’m tryna get me protein in & not be hungry all day
It's always cereal, oatmeal and smoothies, I'm always super hungry after
People: vegan eat grass and tasteless food
Caitlin: hold my pet pig
Looks delish, AS USUAL! I bake hashbrowns at 425f and they get super CRISPY no oil needed. If you're looking for an oil free option! Much love~ Des
awesome, I'll have to try that!
For how long.
yas I've had so much better luck with them in the oven. No matter what pan I use on the stovetop they stick like crazy.
"Broken At Love" by USC Grad/Actress Karolina Sivas I usually bake a whole bag for about 20-30 mins on a large cookie sheet with parchment paper, in an even layer. But, it does depend on the size pan you use, and how crispy you like them. 😘
The Plant Eaters thank you so much! Will try.
When people say being vegan is expensive, just show them this.
Zainab A where are you from?
Zainab A interesting! Which middle eastern county do you live in? I'm only asking because I'm very interested in the middle east and I've been learning Arabic for 3 years. I'm from New York
Zainab A I'm learning modern standard Arabic. My teacher is Egyptian
Sarah Cecilia TBH
You just have to eat nothing but bananas :’)
I’m kidding, but seriously
That banana ice cream! 😍🌱
Me too 😊😊😊
@Jeremias Kyng I'm sorry but why tf would you do that? :)
I remember those oatmeal banana cookies from one of your “living below the poverty line” videos...and I make them ALL THE TIME!!! 😍
Yay!!! I like to mix them up with different spices too :)
I made them today! Awesome combo 👍
Hi! My sister and i are car camping the US national parks for a month this May. We are both plant-based and I was wondering if you could make a video on easy camping recipes that have only a few ingredients! Thanks!
Sam .delannoy YES!

Car camping who? Girl you have gone homeless for 2 days.
@@zawiyaabdi9975 car camping means that you drive up to a camp site... We were sleeping in a tent... I was clarifying that I wasn't backpacking to a camp site or staying in an RV... But ok.

Greenbo V i heard that too! so cute 🤗
"Shusi sho.."
3:45 "susi, sho" 😂
Wow... the colour of your whole look (shirt, necklace and make-up) fits you so well!!🖒
thank you :)

I'm mexican I'd love to see more Mexican inspired vegan recipes
veggie rose is hispanic and vegan, she makes lots of hispanic dishes
Also check out Raw Boy.
lmao every time she does a culture-themed video there are people in the comments talking about how it iSnT aUtHeNtiC
Eat a can of beans lol
The best part of this video was watching the spinach leaves shrink. I replayed that a few times cuz it's SO satisfying to watch!

My favorite breakfast is definitely oatmeal💗
Yes! That's always a good go-to recipe too, but I feel like everyone makes that so I wanted to come up with other ideas!
Caitlin Shoemaker yepp ! I understand and I agree ! It's very easy to make 😊
3:45
"This is smaller like shusi sho" 😂 that was adorable
that nice cream looks identical to a wendy’s frosty 😍
I 😍 .. I’m a breakfast person will try the oat cookies for the kids I’m sure they will love it

If there’s peanut butter I am in! 👍🏻👍🏻
Everything looks just sooo delicious 🤤👌🏻
The color of your top looks really good on you! 👍🏻
I loooove it!!! 💜💜💜
thank you dear!

Thanks sweetheart. I'm a new Vegan and need all the help I can get. This is a blessing!!!
I'm not vegan and probably never will be, but I just watch because you make everything look so delicious and love your creativity and personality.
Sunflower Seed Butter!!! Literally did not know this existed until today
Thanks! Looks good. One of the hardest things for me about being vegan is breakfast so these will be a nice addition
perfect!
yes! Tacos for breakfast!!!
I would totally love to see 5 soups for $25, 5 rice dishes or even pasta for $25!
I love your "PB banana sushi" idea! I make something like that but I add jam and cut the banana into thin slices so it's more of a PB+J plus banana tortilla.
So GLAD i came across this video finally someone who shops at aldi and is simple vegan like me..im subbing
I like how you did a cost breakdown of each ingredient. It is a very good idea. Everything looks great too.
The recipe for the cookies was perfect. I added a spoon of honey and after they were done baking I sprinkled brown sugar. It was delicious. Thank you for the recipe.
How long did you bake them for and what degrees?...She didn't mention that in the video and I'd love to try this myself.

Is anyone else freaking out because she doesn't remove the banana strings? 😱😱😱
And the bananus 😨
Gayatri g bananus is the best thing I’ve ever heard
They are good for health..there are recipes to cook raw banana skins as they are rich in potassium☺️
No lol
Yes! I always get the need to remove the strings when I am watching, and the "bananus" as well lol
i just recently became vegan, this is amazing !!

i think i’m going to make the cookies for dessert tonight and have whatever is left for breakfast in the morning😁 i’m so glad i found this channel😁😁😁😁

“You do you, beau” 😂
I love your sense of humor!!
“You do you, boo” 😂😂❤️❤️ love you caitlin!! Thank you for the awesome vid 👏🏼 ❤️
Nice cream, oatmeal cookies, and tacos are absolutely the best! I definitely need to get on the hash brown train. So cheap and delicious!

so do whatever you can for your situation. it doesnt have to be exactly like this duh
Same for me! A good brand of peanut butter alone costs $5 USD in Trinidad 🇹🇹 bananas are affordable though
It costs 5 USD here in the US too...
Wow it would only cost me $2.00 (depending on the peanut butter)
Currently making chocolate nice cream with chocolate protein powder and cinnamon. SOOO GOOD
These all look delicious, and look easy enough for me to do as a new vegan who is also not a great cook.
I think that if you don't use a non stick pan and some oil you will get the hashbrown really crispy
I will definitely be trying “nice” cream for breakfast
can you add the link for those reusable plastic bags in the description?

You should look into Just egg and also try ading black olives to your mexican dishes it adds a salty taste to any dish.
I love tofu scramble for breakfast. 😋
You got some great recipes and all your dishes look amazing.. Keep those recipes coming your actually making it easier for me to transfer to a vegan lifestyle..
Tried the wraps today and they are soooo delicious and easy to make!
The chocolate "nice" cream tastes SO good if you add a little bit of cinnamon!!

All the baking instructions are in the blog post!
Me too.
Solid 42 minutes and 31 seconds.
I live in Colorado and I'm about to make them for breakfast so I'll let you know if there's any changes
Caitlyn Kraft Thank you!!
sound quality A+
This recipes were amazing ! It’s hard to find flavory food that cheap (and healthy). Definitely gonna try this at home
If you don't want to heat up the oven and you have an airfryer.....No need to use oil and it too will get nice and crispy
I don’t know which one to try first 😍
I eat the same thing for breakfast every day. I have a smoothie bowl with celery juice. I will have to try the banana sushi, the nice cream and the cookies 😊
OT, but I love your plates & bowl (the ones you used in the banana sushi and the nice cream). Could you link them? Thanks!
Sure, I will add the links to the video description :)
We all know that fridays are great, but watching your new recipe videos is one of my fav part of a day 😁
I'm just binge watching vegan recipe videos. I'm gonna mention going vegan to my parents when they get home, I've mentioned it before and they were hesitant. To let me do it but I'm gonna mention it again and actually tell them my reasoning this time. Hopefully they'll hear me out.
Hey Caitlin u should also try Indian cuisine coz it has bunch of savoury options with lots of veggies n grains u just need few spices that we put in every thing...
when you said "you do you, boo", I really had to like the video, it was so cute
I recommend shredding fresh potatoes with a cheese grater
I tried the healthy frosty smoothie. Thank you for introducing me to this. I tried it with coconut milk instead of water. Sooooo good. :)
Wow, these all look amazing!! I'm definitely going to try the cookie recipe! You're so creative and inspiring👏👏👏 xxx
Love this series, the banana "sushi" is so cute!
Hashbrowns turn out really good in the air fryer!
"You do you boo!" I love it!
'Nice' cream for breakfast.... YUM!
I like this vid. I'm making the cookies today with my toddlers for church this weekend. That is, if they didn't eat all the spotty bananas.
