I purchased your e-book. It's well done. Had a question on how got the distance on back pattern from l to X? And the distance from Y to Z? I don't see it in your formula.
I measure people's bodies, then draft and put together men's dress shirts as a hobby for family and friends. I have been looking for a tutorial on jeans.
His e-book can be found on Etsy.

@@eh235 if you double click on the cell in the spreadsheet it tells you the calculation used. I-x is seat divided by 16, y-z is 1/4 waist plus 2

Interesting method with the curved ruler, will try that
Fairgate is a bit limited maybe

This way gives you a very symmetrical curve that's infinitely adjustable, impossible with the fairgate.

Is this a straight leg? Is it possible to make the leg and knee wider and straight?

Just bought the pdf for this and was wondering if you could recommend a guide to measuring the various measurements needed for the spreadsheet. For instance should the waist be the natural waist or the low waist. Maybe doing a measuring up a figure video would be an idea.

you use the dimensions in the chart below the calculator. pick the waist size that correlates with your waist measurement where your pants waist sits. if you need to alter those dimension you will have to experiment and figure out what works for you. the finished draft is just a foundation for you to build off of. once you make a sample pair youll see what dimension you need to change.

Two questions: If for a selvedge fabric why does the outseam have some curvature and not straight to line up with selvedge when cutting? What exactly are you using with the ruler to draft the inseam curve?

The only curvature is at the hip which is common. You could make it straight all the way up but you'll end up with a more extreme fly angle just depends on your body measurements. The inseam is done with a 3 foot ruler with a piece of cord attached at one end and a spring clamp to hold the tension. Makes a nice curve.

How to draft 1940 style double pleat trousers (for men)
And 1940 style jeans with high rise and 19-20 inch bottom hem with big cuff

This actually is a 1947 style jeans and it's a 20 inch hem. Rise could be a little bit higher but everything else is spot on.
