Levis 506xx Type one jacket close up examination

A close up look at a vintage Levi's 506 jacket. I made this video for people who are interested in how these jackets were constructed. I tried to capture all the details you don't usually see in photos around the internet, though I'm sure I missed a bunch of them. there is no sound in this video

    I purchased your e-book. It's well done. Had a question on how got the distance on back pattern from l to X? And the distance from Y to Z? I don't see it in your formula. I measure people's bodies, then draft and put together men's dress shirts as a hobby for family and friends. I have been looking for a tutorial on jeans. His e-book can be found on Etsy.

      @@eh235 if you double click on the cell in the spreadsheet it tells you the calculation used. I-x is seat divided by 16, y-z is 1/4 waist plus 2

    Just bought the pdf for this and was wondering if you could recommend a guide to measuring the various measurements needed for the spreadsheet. For instance should the waist be the natural waist or the low waist. Maybe doing a measuring up a figure video would be an idea.

    • @retroreason
      @retroreason 2 месяца назад

      you use the dimensions in the chart below the calculator. pick the waist size that correlates with your waist measurement where your pants waist sits. if you need to alter those dimension you will have to experiment and figure out what works for you. the finished draft is just a foundation for you to build off of. once you make a sample pair youll see what dimension you need to change.

    Dear lady , after the first seam you have to sew it again. then sew the other side, pulling all the edges together well and with a longer stitch otherwise the neck tends to stretch forward

    Cara Sigra dopo la prima cucitura deve ribatterla. poi cucire l' altro lato, tirando bene tutto i lembi insieme e con punto piu lungo altrimenti il collo tende ad allungarsi in avanti

    Interesting method with the curved ruler, will try that Fairgate is a bit limited maybe

    • @retroreason
      @retroreason 5 месяцев назад

      This way gives you a very symmetrical curve that's infinitely adjustable, impossible with the fairgate.

  • @goblintho

    Two questions: If for a selvedge fabric why does the outseam have some curvature and not straight to line up with selvedge when cutting? What exactly are you using with the ruler to draft the inseam curve?
