    Fascinating videos. Thank you for demonstrating your skill in real time and without unnecessary inane chatter.
    I have a question. Why do you change your tension for different thicknesses of seam? Please explain as clearly as possible so that I can understand the physics of it. I'm not at home with my vintage machine just now so can't practice and try to work it out for myself.

      Sometimes there are many many layers of denim and you need more tension to pull the bottom thread up into the hole created by the needle. Sometimes there is only two layers of denim and if you keep the same tension it will pull the bottom thread up all the way through the hole and seam will not look as nice and not be as strong. Also the exact opposite for the bottom of the seam, to low of a tension and the top thread will show on the underside.

    What kind of dies do you use on your stimpson press, can't seem to find anything that fits

      I made all the dies, but you could probably find a local machine shop to make yo what you want.

      @@retroreason thank you I will try to modify some dies or at least try to make something happen. Thought maybe stimpson or someone made us denim guys dies
