- I got my first pair of Studio DArtisan denim from Okayama denim. This is the STUDIO D'ARTISAN SD-D01 "THE ORIGIN" SELVEDGE JEANS.

Great video! My favorite brand of jeans atm are left field nyc. I have had a pair from them for a year now and am very pleased! Happy to subscribe to another denim channel!
Funny that as kids in the 70s we hated the stiff, dark blue, scratchy Levis we got off the shelf and washed them several times before wearing them. That's why they started offering pre-faded and tumbled jeans. Now they're trendy.
I don’t know that many prefer them rigid and super stiff, I think many just prefer to get them broken in themselves. I’m lazy and do not enjoy that process lol

I want to find selvedge that has a wide fit and very high rise, but it's hard to find. Cathcart makes something that close to what I'm after, but their smallest size is still ~3in too large. I guess I can always alter them... perhaps bespoke jeans is the way. Paul Kruize is a denim maker and his work is awesome.
Wide fit? Hmm, I don’t know that I have any suggestions there. Just buy a big pair and have them taken in
You could also try Soso and find measurements you like or customize specific ones.

for me the best denim brands are:
1) LVC 501 (mainly 1947,66 models) fit is unmatched
2) Momotaro- zimbabwe cotton becomes very soft over time
3) PBJ intersting fabric and fit's very well
4) edwin rainbow selvedge
i think if you change that shoe the outfit would look better. but for tapered jeans that shoe would still look perfect.

Check out Iron Heart cut 634 in 14oz. Beautiful even textured denim that’s not too heavy and pretty soft from the start.

it's a beautiful classic pair of jeans for purists. it's so far from today's cookie cutter style that I would think twice wearing it myself even though I'm a classic menswear enthusiast, but you can pull it off.
Yeah it had me hesitant for a bit but it’s exactly what I wanted and feel great in them!
