There's nothing on TV between 10:45 PM and 11:45 PM on a Sunday night that's better than watching Nick play with handhelds on RUclips. I watched the whole thing. And I don't regret it! A few quick thoughts: • I'm about to say something heretical; I don't use the green filter for Game Boy. My first Game Boy was actually a Color and I'm just so used to playing DMG carts with the Game Boy Color's DMG palettes. Some, like "Tetris", look really good that way. I've read that Nintendo created custom full color pallettes for around 100 of the most popular DMG carts and hard coded them into the GBC's firmware. The rest of the games get a basic auto generated palette. Both RetroArch and GBA EMU support this; so I guess there's at least two of us heretics out there, me and the person that coded Gambette. • It's not your color blindness; this has that shimmery titanium look to me too. It's a very classy handheld to look at on screen. It seems to be super comfortable to hold. My only nitpick is that they inverted the volume controls. • You need to get around to playing GTA VCS in its entirety. I never vibed with Liberty City Stories, where the main character has Mommy issues and takes it out on everyone else in very gruesome ways. But Vice City Stories feels like an interactive '80s action movie. The game has you do bad things; but, they're not that bad, you know? I liked it a lot. Also, Phil Collins is a main character and you end up having to save his life. I've read that that's why we've never gotten a phone port of VCS, unlike the other PSP and PS2 GTA games. • I thought this was a great quality review. GoGameGeek should come back to this channel if they're smart. These are the types of reviews that actually sell hardware to people.
Glad to see a review of the green model. PowKiddy's handhelds usually look much better in person than the pics on their website lead you to believe. I debated getting the green model but the pictures on their site make it look kind of pale/grey-ish. It looks much nicer here!
instead of the x55, I got the RG505 with this ingenious and incredibly cool OLED display. and yes, I don't regret it for a single second! with GammaOS the RG505 just runs perfectly! No matter if PS2, Gamecube, Switch = everything is possible! The lower systems run perfectly, of course! So the bottom line is that I would prefer the RG505 to the x55 every time! greez!

Playing the 3DO ROAD Rash is even more enjoyable to me now because I recently learned how to get into retroarch to adjust frame skip etc and now while not perfect The 3DO ROAD RASH Is Actually Playable mostly staying between 49 and 55 frames per second .... ....Before 3DO ROAD RASH would lock the X55 up Every Time and id have to restart the X55 and now 3DO ROAD Rash I Can Play N Play N Play Without This Game Locking Up My X55 ....
It's kinda on my radar, but there's other gadgets to order in before it. Maybe if I find it at a great price, but that's still cash that can go towards an RG556 or something.

Sounds like you somehow accidentally remapped it. Try going to the tools section on emulation station and opening up ppsspp directly from there. Once in ppsspp, go to settings -> controls then try setting your home button to R3. I can’t remember if there is another button mapping option that says “open menu” but look through the options and you’ll probably figure it out. If not, let me know and I’ll try asking somebody who would know exactly what to do.
how the frick did you get ports to show up on the main menu? I can't figure out the workflow and file structure for the ports, do you get portmaster and install their sh file and then add your content or can you can paste everything from online? the folder structure no one says the same thing for that
I'm currently doing tinkering with my x55, it's a pain in the ass, I have a 128gb 2nd card and it says it full and can't scrape or save. so I go to file manager and delete stuff and it's still the same free space, is there like a trash folder or something?

Powkiddy usually uses this brand called Seapiy for the game card, which is ok. Better than totally generic ones. My OS card is Kioxia. Nice of them to bundle legit cards. No problems so far with the cards.

In a nutshell, almost any emulation device can run sega and most can run PS1. Saturn is harder, but this machine can mostly run it. If you go for one with a pre included card, some will come with roms pre installed, I believe thats the case with the X55. PS2 is different, it takes a higher performance machine to run - retroid pocket 3+ or 4, or ayn odin, or steam deck. PS3 is still early in emulation, i think they have it working on pc so far. I hope any of this information is helpful!
You need to have the game on your PC, get the running files and copy them to the game folder... There are tutorials on the internet on how to do this...
@therunawaykid6523 I checked and unfortunately it’s not included. It would be very easy to download and place inside the Dreamcast folder on the sd card though. I can low key walk you through the process if you decide to order one.
Most places sell the device without the games being configured properly in regard to aspect ratio, button mapping. GoGameGeek goes above and beyond with this. They add the proper filters so the games look accurate and they fill the black bars where the bezel would be with system related artwork. They do a nice job of organizing the roms in alphabetical order, without duplicates, and include box art as well.

I think you might be able to find preconfigured cards on Etsy. Likely AliExpress too. I don’t think GoGameGeek sells preconfigured without a console.
