  • For about $40 you can score this cookset on Amazon. I picked up the Stanley cook set and steel cup at my local Walmart for about $20 and I had the H2O pouch. Just want to give a shout out to Dave Canterbury at the Pathfinder School for giving me the idea for the kit and Gideonstactical for beating me to the review! Both great channels and sources of info!

I'm fairly certain that you already know this, but for those new to prepping, always save your spare condiment pouches from fast food places, and vary your sources. Some places even have small packets of honey and honey is ALWAYS useful. Thank you for another solid video sir.

I have a mini Sawyer in with my Stanley setup, a couple of all cotton bandanas and a small ferro rod with striker. I also have bouillon, salt and pepper inside the Stanley pot, along with tea bags and sugar packets, and a couple packets of hydration multipliers. I never thought of using pomade with cotton balls -- thanks for the tip!!

I have been considering the Stanley cookset. You are the first person I have seen show how the cookset nest inside of the OT cup. Since I have the pouch, I foresee a trip to Walmart today. Great video.

Nice review. Here's a tip for you. If you put your cook kit in a small nylon stuff sack it will slide in and out of the pouch with ease without snagging the inside of the pouch.

Like you I have seen assorted set up's with the Stanley so I made one for myself.
I made myself a grab and go cook kit using the Condor H20 pouch to keep everything in. Starting at the bottom of the of the pouch there is a Oilcamp Stainless Steel Space Saver Cup. Then the Stanley Adventure Cook Camp System which fits ( sits ) inside the cup. The tapered sides of the Stanley Camp Cook kit fits inside the cup like it was made for it. Along the outside of the Stanley is a long handled Titanium spoon. Inside the Stanley is the Gen2 Folding Firebox Nano Ultralight Backpacking 3" Stove. On top of the Stanley is a Trangia Alcohol burner so I can cook with either alcohol or wood. The outside pocket of the
Condor has a plastic ( Flask shaped ) bottle which has the Denatured Alcohol for the Trangia. Next to it is a fero rod for lighting the burner or starting a fire. Folded next to the fero rod is a bandana which can be used if the handles of either pot gets to hot for a bare hand to touch. All of it together makes one small complete cooking outfit. Thanks to using a wood fire mine has a nice blacken bottom and sides to it which I think helps it to heat up quicker.

Very nice I have the same exact setup with little differences. Last night I added a couple of other pouches and now I have a more extravagant setup that could probably last me a few days out in the field if need be

That's so awesome! I have the same set of pouch, pot and cup!! I also added a generic butane pocket stove (from Amazon) and a small fuel canister in there. The only difference is my Condor Pouch is black to match my Ruck. Thanks for sharing!

If you drill a hole just below the rim n each side of the Stanley pot then add a lid from a Pathfinder cup, you can hang the pot using a fish mouth spreader. I like the dual option, and it makes the pot more versatile.
I don't like plastic in the woods, so I leave the cups at home, where we use them almost every day.
It's funny. I have the complete Pathfinder bottle kit that came with a stainless steel canteen, two stainless steel cups with lids, a stainless steel wood/tablet stove, a stainless steel alcohol stove, a windscreen, a fish mouth spreader, a fire kit, and a nice bag to keep it all in, but other than using one of the cups, I prefer the Stanley pot.
My son bought the Pathfinder canteen kit, and I wish I'd made the same choice. It contains everything I need to spend forever in the wild, and doesn't have a lot of extra items I won't use, and won't have to carry.
The Stanley makes an excellent bushcraft kit, as you've learned. I think I'm going to buy a slightly larger bag so I can add my other gear, and just make it my one and only kit for all things bushcraft, hunting, trapping, and bugout.
