Yesterday evening I opened a new bottle of tea tree oil and a drop flew out of it straight in to the corner of my eye. I Googled what to do and tried flushing it out with warm water but I wasn't convinced it did the trick. I used a sterile eye rinse as well but I could still feel the discomfort. Finally I saw a post that water and oil don't mix and that I should try a vegetable oil, so I grabbed my E.V.O.O and rubbed it in a circular motion around my eye, wiping with paper towels, wet with warm water, to remove the oils and then apply more. After a few times the discomfort went away, it stopped hurting, stinging, and burning, but the redness and yellow bump remained, as well as the mucus like yellow gunk that kept coming out. This morning the redness had spread and my eye was swollen on both the top and bottom, and the bump was just a bit bigger. But now the bump is much bigger, the redness spread more and is much brighter, and I'm very nervous about it. I was planning on going to my eye doctor tomorrow, but I'm wondering , should I go to the hospital??
Go to your eye doctor. Go to the hospital if you develop a fever or your whole lid is affected or your vision changes or you can't move your eye right/left/up/down. Tea tree is definitely potent stuff!
All I know is I woke up two days ago and my right eye was red and it’s still red today it doesn’t hurt unless I touch it but it’s just annoying at this point
Can you remove scars from the eye? Or can you remove the “spider vein” from the eye ? Caused my contact lens damage . Is there a surgery yet ? I really want to remove these hideous veins that are external and look like “spider veins “ kind of like the ones you get on your legs but it’s on my eye. Let me know ! :) I’m studying to be a neurosurgeon and I know technically is developing daily!
Corneal specialists do have some ability to reduce or remove corneal scars. But nothing for the external prominent veins like you described just yet! Lumify drops can reduce them but it’s a drop you have to use continuously and it doesn’t cure them!
To be honest, I didn't understand most of the stuffs due to the use of more scientific and complex words which is far beyond my understanding. It would be better if simple and common words used so that it is easy to understand
I can make another one that uses more basic words. I struggle sometimes to strike the balance between simplifying it too much but being thorough and not leaving important things out. Thanks for your feedback!

I do notice then when I get 9hr of sleep I’ll wake up with pinkish eyes instead of red. I use eye drops up to 4 or 5 times a day to help with the redness. I’m tired of it. It’s embarrassing too. Either people ask me if I’m tired, drunk or high. Also when I get flushed due to excitement, embarrassment, even just hot temperature my eyes get bloodshot. I feel them burn up. It’s like the blood rushes there first and it’s quite embarrassing specially when I’m out socializing. Is there any testing I can do to see why I have this? also is it genetics, my father also suffers from the same thing.

@@tkbasketballdrummer I recently found some eye drops that are for allergies. They’re called patday they help a lot. And clear up my eyes for the whole day. Give them a try. It can be very in-securing walking around with red eyes all day.
I just don't understand why there aren't any better tests to identify the causes of the red eye infection and also treatments for viral infections. I have been struggling with eye infections for 3 months on and off. At first I was told it was viral so I should stay away from the gym and the office. I threw away my makeup as well. Then I was told it was allergic so I shouldn't bother with that, and just take antihistamine drops. It just came back again today. Doctors really need to do better. I have missed out reunions, weddings interviews because of this and nobody seems to care because it's not life threatening. I've been to three different opthalmologist now. It's infuriating. I have never had this issue before, once I had a bacterial infection when I was a child. That is the only time I can remember. Why wouldn't you guys do more research when it's so debilitating and so much money is lost on missing days at school and work because of this??

Usually worst in morning Went in ocean cleared up, but then came back, went away again and comes back anytime I use eye makeup, I also tried new eye makeup and still comes back Went to dr he gave me antibiotic gel in eye for 5 days, doesn't seem to be helping, any thoughts ? This also occurred a few days after botox but the botox dr said it was not related, any thoughts that may help me ?
@@thefootballzone6521 not really. I googled persistence red eyes, it says see a dr immediately, but none of them seem to be concerned. I’m on Regener-eyes, restasis and just tried ivizia which seem to work better than GenTeal. I do the warm compresses for 5 min and notice sometimes steam helps. I’ve had one eye dr say it’s inflammation and it’s coming out through my eyes. I also wear googles at night (major pain). Made an appointment with an allergist, although other Dr’s don’t seem to respect them, and an appointment with a RA dr 🙏🏻
