No where else in the world is grander than Britains Trooping the color ceremonial.

Somebody is going to have lot of horse shit to clean up and I wonder how many bears had to die to make all the bearskin hats? I imagine there will be a lot of tired people and horses tonight. @@lowndesbutler9068. The British Army buys around 100 bearskins from Canada's annual cull of around 20,000 bears. This is to replace skins that are worn out after many years in use. Synthetic alternatives have been trialled recently but they're just not up to the job, especially in the rain.
@@ken-u3n Thanks for the info on the bearskins, I assume they are heavy and hard to keep upright on your head. I read that the reason they were put in use was to make the soldiers look taller to the enemy.

You’re right about the original intention to look taller. They originally French in origin but I think it was the Grenadier Guard that defeated the French Regiment and stole their bearskins. Well noticed. At 42.18secs when the No 1 guard are advancing, and the massed bands are doing their first of 3 spin wheels in this trooping, a guardsman comes on parade and gives the Colour Sergeant his weapon. The guardsman leaves the square. If you notice, the colour Sergeant (at 42.33secs), is now holding the colour in his right hand, whilst holding his rifle in shoulder arms in his left hand. Once again, a great enquiry. Good eyes.

Sirs ! If the English can do anything, it's formal training. We Germans can't do that (anymore) - but we're quick with the 108 mm tank guns, 80/120 mm mortars and 155 mm artillery. The guards refuse to use any weapon that isn’t the current service weapon as they are still current serving infantry soldiers and not pure ceremonial. It’s also good at symbolising that the British army still sticks to its traditions whilst innovating for warfare

Upon the beginning the of drummers call: the following is to happen at the same time:
Orderly marches up to collect RSM’s pace stick
The Captain of the Escort turns left and swords up. Marches behind the ensign to the right of the Captain of the No.2 Guard. Subaltern marches to the front of the ensign.

After 15 seconds from the command, first person on the left will :eyes front continued subsequently down the line.
The last person to eyes front (Right guide CSM) will say upon completion:
“Right, sir”

Massed Bands quick march at the same time and begin spinwheel once at the Colour Party

Colour Sergeant gives RSM the colour.
Sergeant equips the rifle and fixes bayonet then shoulders then slopes the rifle.
RSM About turns and marches to the ensign
Ensign salutes colour and sheaths swords.
RSM gives the ensign the colour and the ensign about turns.
SUBALTERN: ESCORT TO THE COLOUR, PRESENT ARMS
National Anthem plays
Flanks turn outwards and port arms
SUBALTERN: ESCORT TO THE COLOUR, SLOPE ARMS
Flanks turn to face forward again, posts are resumed
SUBALTERN: ESCORT TO THE COLOUR, WILL ADVANCE, BY THE CENTRE, SLOW MARCH
Escort advances in slow time to “Escort to the Colour”
Once the highlighted area is reached, escort will conduct a right turn on the march followed by a wheel to the left twice
Now begins the actually trooping phase
The colour is about to be trooped between the ranks
Music stops and “Grenadiers Return” begins to play

Colour is trooped
Escort goes back to original position - Massed bands march down the guards and countermarches near the spectator fence line and halts

The NCO who holds the colour prior to handing it over to the RSM did not fix the bayonet between shoulder and slope, it was fixed already.

Somebody is going to have lot of horse shit to clean up and I wonder how many bears had to die to make all the bearskin hats? I imagine there will be a lot of tired people and horses tonight. @@lowndesbutler9068. The British Army buys around 100 bearskins from Canada's annual cull of around 20,000 bears. This is to replace skins that are worn out after many years in use. Synthetic alternatives have been trialled recently but they're just not up to the job, especially in the rain.
@@ken-u3n Thanks for the info on the bearskins, I assume they are heavy and hard to keep upright on your head. I read that the reason they were put in use was to make the soldiers look taller to the enemy.

You’re right about the original intention to look taller.
They originally French in origin but I think it was the Grenadier Guard that defeated the French Regiment and stole their bearskins. Napoléonic times.

Well noticed. At 42.18secs when the No 1 guard are advancing, and the massed bands are doing their first of 3 spin wheels in this trooping, a guardsman comes on parade and gives the Colour Sergeant his weapon. The guardsman leaves the square. If you notice, the colour Sergeant (at 42.33secs), is now holding the colour in his right hand, whilst holding his rifle in shoulder arms in his left hand. Once again, a great enquiry. Good eyes.

It's an army parade. Household Division and King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery only. The RAF only get involved in the fly past.

Bring back the Lee Enfield! Those bullpup looks absolutely terrible! I’m not asking them to go to war with the Enfields at least they can use them for parades.
The guards refuse to use any weapon that isn’t the current service weapon as they are still current serving infantry soldiers and not pure ceremonial. It’s also good at symbolising that the British army still sticks to its traditions whilst innovating for warfare
