Thank you for sharing I was one of the four on the retinue party The Life Guards Household Cavalry, a day I will never forget. 🇬🇧 Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense 🇬🇧
A fantastic upload. Definitely a piece of history. Really enjoy your uploads and all the background information you provide. Look forward to seeing more.
Yeah, starting falling post-2005 give or take. Really was after the 2003 Defence Review actually. Spending was quite under Labour for ceremonial quite a bit. Since 2019/2020 it starting going back up finally again.
Yes, you're correct. He literally explains it, because of the Options for Change, the number of companies was reduced on the parade, so they tried something new, but it didn't work out.
My general definition for you: Something is disbanded, but can be reformed anytime it needs to. A full "disband/disbandment" however, means that unit can't be reformed at all (it can, but in theory it can't).
There wasn't any in when I joined in 1986 but the first one joined the year after, a gdsm Stokes if I remember correctly. I've nothing against them if they're good soldiers but the dropping of the height restriction is a different matter.
The Trooping the Colour back in old days was much spectacular compares to recent years, greetings from Taiwan, God bless the Queen.
Civilians couldn't comprehend the work that goes in to this spectacle.
I know.
As an ex Light Division soldier, RGJ and Rifles, I’ve always admired how the Guards do business. Steady on Parade!
Thank you for your service sir.
As one Military Veteran to many others…….. Thank You for your service to Queen and Country!

1:19:17 damn!!!! That awesome "Eyes right" in the same time with the field officer and the guards behind
From 8 guards, now is only 6 guards…
Good old days
We've lost 3 guards battalions that's why.
I think this may be perhaps the best
1:11:17 look at those amazingly smart looking officers and men.. perfect body postures back then.. fit and lean
What a beautiful tradition.
First year without Diana. :( I always wonder if she was watching from somewhere until her death in 1997
Saw myself a couple of times there
Guardsman?
I realize its not important but I've gotten use to seeing 8 instead of six Guards I hope in the new reign things will go back to the usual.
Probably not.
wow thank you for the precious upload
Standards were still up there in 93.

Interesting to get the background information (preparation etc)
Awesome
This is awesome, only the grenedier and the coldstream guards are active in that day of trooping the colour
1:31:14 doesn't sound any better than it did on the old version, sadly!
🤣
Heroes.
this trooping isn't like the other troops, what was the change of direction at 54:06. normally it'll be straight forward followed by a right form

Commentating was good here to be honest.
What is suspended animation?
It's when a battalion hangs its colours up for the time being hoping one day they will be resurrected.

Why does that horse have some weird waffle pattern on it's rump? The field officer's horse, to be specific.
