Best Kong figure in this size! NECA is the king of action figures! ( It's ok if you don't agree it's my opinion everyone) the addition of paint really adds to this sculpt. Thank you spot.

This figure is interesting in all honestly, in my opinion I prefer this a bit more if you display it with human figures like small scale ones. But the coloration is honestly not bad and I’m kinda digging it

That actually looks much nicer than the promotional pics, they never quite let the colors on it "shine" where as it's easier to appreciate here. Very neat.
Very unusual but kinda cool. it would really benefit from having the poster and source material included somehow as a point of reference. Close up, looks great but viewed from a distance it can look odd, like he's had a fight in a paint factory!

NECA continues to impress when it comes to their action figures and King Kong is no exception. The figure is very nicely sculpted, painted and detailed. Both head sculpts are impressive. The added paint takes the piece to another level for sure. Solid work on the part of NECA once again. Otherwise, thanks as always Spot. I really appreciate the continued hard work. Keep it up!

Honestly, the colors on him look like Kong went to war against Homer Simpson's makeup gun, but I still love it on account of the Famous Monsters of Filmland inspiration, and I go for the stylized paintjob NECA figures anyway, and I loved the original NECA Kong, so I welcome another into my collection.
Wow! Its amazing how a different paint job can highlight a figure to make it so different from the original release. Would love to have a black and white version also. Can't wait to get this figure, I have 6 of the original release kings and will more than likely pick up the same amount of these posterized versions. Awaiting the release of the black and grey universal monsters Frankenstein and mummy, hopefully the wolfman and creature from the black lagoon will be next but I'm sure it will be Dracula, but I'm excited for all of them. Great review as always, great figure . I'm still hoping Neca will hear my pleas for an ultimate h2 Dr. Loomis and 1:4 scale h2 version of Myers and Dr. Loomis, I don't think they would have a problem selling those figures. All Hail the Mighty Neca!!!!!!!!!!

Neca dropped the ball, by not using the movie poster that inspired this figure’s paint job. They did it with the box for the Godzilla figure based on the movie poster...

This figure is so weird to me. Both variations, in fact. It makes me wonder if NECA had any licensing issues with getting it made. I say that because this Kong doesn't really entirely resemble any one official Kong, but rather is a combination of vague features from various Kongs. He mostly seems to be a combination of the original 1930's Kong and the 1976 Kong. The non-angry head also strongly resembles the original 1930's Kong, and is certainly my favorite of the two.
What's even weirder (and a bit more evidentiary toward a possible licensing/likeness issue) is the fact that neither of these Kongs' boxes bear any officially licensed imagery as pertains to movie posters and the films these figures come from. Both boxes just feature pictures of the figure itself. Just as well, neither of these Kongs has any real accessories beyond alternate hands and heads. That being said, I much prefer the poster art Kong, and is the one I will definitely be getting. I hope they do eventually give us a classic black and white version of this...with some matching accessories.
The Skull Island release comes with a log and 2 Skull Island Creatures. The Concrete Jungle release comes with a plane and shackles.
