Definitely a fan of the third version, the creatures add a lot of dynamics for the figure compared to the plane. Wasn’t planning on grabbing this figure but the Gorilla Alien bit really sold it for me, awesome review!

Great review! I just saw these in Target the other day. Awesome figure. It sucks though that both of the new ones are the same figure. They could have easily placed all the accessories in one box.

I may get version 1 for the roaring head, I love the Kong's Neca has produced but I really wish they just made one ultimate figure that includes all 3 head sculpts, the extra hands, the plane, chains, and pteranodon along with the two armed lizard and stick or at least include the roaring head with the other two versions instead of having to essentially army build on Neca Kong's to have all the accessories, but at least its cool to have 4 versions to have them battle each other as if they are rival members of Kong's species fighting for dominance control of skull island.
I bet they do a super ultimate one in the future.

Today I saw the version 4 at target, and was not planning on getting it originally but I did and I’m really happy with it. It is bigger, more articulated, and cooler looking than the McFarlane grodd, and I might use Kong as grodd, because the grodd is too small

I am the one who picked the first version last year. :) Because it came out the earliest, sometime last year and I had to pick it up immediately. Anyway, I would also get the 3rd version if I had to choose now. :)

Believe it or not I choose V1 because yea the accessories are wonderful but the v1 has that beautiful screaming head sculpt. I would trade a stick and a Lil plane for that screaming 😱 head any day

I really like version 1's screaming face, I personally got it just for that head sculpt, and I got version 3, creatures are too fun to pass up. I plan on getting version 4 just for the plane and chains, never cared for version 2, but I don't hate it.
It’s by far my least favorite
On the last version, you can warm the gripping hand with a hairdryer to hold the plane properly.

Are there any stands for these? Gifted one to a co worker and he asked if there was a stand so he can place it on his work desk
No stands, you can buy Neca Stands by themselves but I don’t like stands I think they look bad these figure stand up on their own just fine they have big feet
I got version 4 and I like it very much
3 is my favorite, but they are all good in different ways.
The selling point is head sculpts and accessories. Head sculpts and various accessories with different expressions are basically to buy head sculpts and accessories to send body bodies.
And you can mix match between releases.
@@dHuntersReviews In fact, the head sculpt is the only selling point and highlight. NECA is too treacherous. It has to be divided into several versions. Obviously they can be put together into one box.
Yeah, I do enjoy expanding on releases, but it makes you feel like you are getting ripped off for buying the first version sometimes.

No. The cave with the bars on it. Background trees etc. Looks like they came from a play set from Jurassic park or something. I'd love to get those items.
The play set with the bars is an old masters of the universe set, also a swamp thing set, a tree from Neca headless horseman and a bunch of tree type things

I don’t think so, I believe they are just target exclusive for about 2 months then available elsewhere. I showed the box in pretty good detail, didn’t see anything like that.
My personal opinion is that the skull island Neca figure is the best because all the variety of accessories and for such a affordable price it’s a steal😁

Did you buy the gorilla in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" released by NECA a few years ago? And have you bought MEZCO’s King Kong? If you do, you can put it together for comparison.

They should have made the fourth version in black and white, that alone would have been worth the buy considering it's the same figure as the third version.

I got lucky and found the version I wanted (shackles and plane version). To the guy that posted this vid: try putting the gripping hand and holding the airplane by one of the wings. Displays a lot better than holding with flat hand. Although I would also like the creatures from the other version, no way am I buying a second Kong. Neca’s getting greedy lately with all these alternate versions when an “Ultimate” version can have all the accessories.
I agree, makes you feel like you can’t get everything by unless you buy multiples, which sucks.

@@dHuntersReviews I'm guessing ''What do you hate about them?'' is what you mean. Aside from the face sculpt? Just about everything else. Starting at the head. It should widen out at the sides behind the face instead of staying narrow like it does. The joints between the bottom of the shoulders and top of upper arms. Totally unnecessary. Those parts of the body do not move independently of each other, regardless being ape or man. Next is the split torso. This always looks unappealing to me. I don't need any figure's upper torso to go in the opposite direction of its lower torso. One seamless torso is just fine with me. Although Kong should have long arms these arms are too long, obviously due to the fact the legs are too long. This figure lacks the body wideness that is Kong. It looks like a person wearing a King Kong Halloween costume. And I don't like the slashes and scars on his chest.
The figure is better to stay in the box !!!

Really neca gotta get with the program there kongs are good for kong but really this is all about godzilla vs kong and none of these kongs match up size wish to a godzilla yes godzilla means neca these kongs are to big so people if you want a king kong vs godzilla on your shelf faceing each other break out the large money and get sh monsterarts kong 21 it matches with any godzilla if NECA WANTS THE DIE HARDS MAKE A KONG 1962 KONG VS GODZILLA WHO DONT WANT THAT?
I can see how that’s be frustrating, I use them in my 7 inch collection.
This guy sounds like a robot, monotone, unenthusiastic, and overall no emotion shown.
