It’s honestly impressive how your videos can be so sarcastic and hilarious yet so helpful. I’m actually learning a lot from these unlike other “comedy music channels”
Not only did I learn useful Ableton shortcuts in this video, I actually understood the explanation of the chords and how to make them. What's funny is that I tried looking for other tutorials but none come off as easy (and entertaining) as this one. Subscribed wowzers.
For anyone trying to got deeper into harmony: The II-Chord in the minor scale is actually a diminished chord, with a diminished Fifth (6 half steps) instead of a pure fifth (7 half steps). The 7th chord for that is a half-diminished seventh chord (and there is another "full diminished" chord, with a diminished 7th on top). This is quite a dissonant interval, which is why it makes sense to kick it out and use a II-7(omit5) or a II-9(omit5), like he did here.
As a guy trying to learn software and rolls his eyes anytime the person making the tutorial has 0 music theory knowledge.. This was very satisfying to watch those guys almost get mocked but yet you still get taught a ton about everything this man is doing. If you don't know theory then this is good for you.
