So great seeing the gold among the masses of lead, Andy. The spur was a great classifier find, maybe any markings are worn away, if there's a silver bit left in it, a rub on a bit of slate as a "touchstone" and a drop of vinegar on the streak, Coffee Bush Kid's sniff-sniff, or another I remember from high school is applying a jet flame and every metal has it's own flame-off colour, but I can't remember what's the colour for silver, blue flame?! Inside bends to the theoretical line of direct travel, and hitting an accumulator spot, hope you'll bust the gram just with a yellow slug among the greys, and hundreds of good sized flakes to make the total weight totally over the top. Cheers.
A surprising days total. The spur , its spike star is very well worn and very corroded. Could be old or very old? The bronze is still quite good. If it comes from the south thats when you light the fire, snuggle up with a good whiskey and watch a movie! The gold is the by-product of the lead mining at that creek 🤣. Glad you liked it mate , 5 hours and a lot of other content filmed that day. So about 3.5 hours actual panning. I'm over the moon. I have used my GM1000 there just to find the lead! The gold is too small, but it does like to lay with it! The relic was cool, my best gold day yet! thanks for watching buddy

No Crouch , I did not use the GM. Just used my noggin to work it out. I think I know a little bit about where the gold likes to hide. But the lead is horrendous there. In that creek you see the lead before the gold, it lies under it, mixed with it. Best 5 hours I have had with a pan only! I am going to go back with the trommel as its the only way to deal with the clay. Hi-bankers struggle to bust it up. Cheers mate
