Trippy part is the medicine is so good now that I have access to that I'm frozen at a low spot instead of declining. So I have a taste of a better life that's only better because it used to be so ungodly bad.

I had strabismus surgery on my eye entirely for cosmetic reasons two years ago and it was so, so worth it. I'm not always making faces at the camera to take attention away from my eye. Ok so this is episode always bothered me as a person who had Lyme but also was of the 15% of cases that didn’t get a target rash. Maybe in like 08 Lyme testing was different but they most certainly test you along with a bunch of other normal tests. This dude is more likely to not have a target rash, than for Lyme not to show during testing

House gets payed whether he humours the patient or not. He's not the family GP, he's not there to provide what's in the patient's best interest, he's there to diagnose the problem and determine the treatment. The patient or GP then decides if it's in their own interest.

As someone with multiple family members with JRA and seeing what it’s done to them, if House said it’s JRA the whole facial deformity thing is null and void. Who cares what you look like when your own body is destroying itself. I get that kids are awful and vain, but rheumatoid arthritis is horrible.
It seems that they all want to prove who's the smartest. A guessing game. I've worked in Hospitals most of my adult life and that's my take on it. I love this show.
I had a big cyst on my forehead when I was a toddler. If they didn't remove it, I'd have eventually looked similar to that. Thank God it was 80s and insurance was flexible. Both my parents worked at the same hospital and got a good plastic surgeon to do it. The scar exactly follows the underside of my eyebrow so no one even notices it. I can see it, but only because I know it's there.
This whole episode pissed me off because Taub just consistently went on an ego trip ONLY because of the cameras. He legit only had “medical integrity” during THIS episode and it was so plastic.

I'm sorry, but House is just 100% a hypocrite here. He can't claim that the kid shouldn't do a dangerous surgery to ease the true pain he feels while popping like 20 vicodin a day. Especially considering that this kid is literally giving proof that the deformity is hindering his efforts to live a productive life. Like it's one thing if he just feels ugly and wants to change, but it's another thing if he is calm enough to rationalize his own decision and house doesn't have the hard proof to back up the diagnosis.
I don't think he was being a hypocrite. House makes it clear several times throughout the show that he views himself as a sort of cautionary tale when it comes to his leg. He's just also not a very great communicator about that and his overall arrogant attitude makes it look like he's being a hypocrite.
I agree with the first reply on here but adding to it he also said at the end that the kid can have the surgery at the end if he wants but that’s not what’s gonna help his condition. The steroids will. I would love to be able to agree with you here but ur whole argument falls apart when you watch the end of this video and listen to what he says.

Everybody knows nurses do the tests in the real world. However, it makes sense for a TV show to use its main characters as often as possible. It's also cheaper to skip out on using more extras.
Thought it was an interesting story, and I know that they always gray out the frame when something that might disturb the audience like blood or things of that nature.. The one thing I did not like was that they would gray out the image when they were looking directly at his face like it was too disturbing for the audience to look at...... That was wrong and uncalled for. It's just my opinion, but it pissed me off that the people who made this clip did this. There was nothing disgusting or disturbing about this boy's face. And if there's anyone who really thought This, then they really don't have any humanity or kindness in their heart to accept people for who they are. It's just my opinion, but it pissed me off that the people who made this clip did this.
There was nothing disgusting or disturbing about this boy's face.
And if there's anyone who really thought This, then they really don't have any humanity or kindness in their heart to accept people for who they are.

The people who made the clip didn’t gray it out that was in the actual show. It’s the point of view from the documentary camera. It’s like that for pretty much the whole episode

I could be mistaken I don't know I'll have to see If I can find some full episodes to look at them again.
you must have misunderstood, nothing was grayed out on purpose. the screen looks like that when it shows the perspective of the documentary
