My qualifiers Israel Belgium Malta Azerbaijan Sweden Ukraine Australia Romania Lithuania Ireland You three are clueless all dismissing Israel and the beautiful Eden Alene out of hand
My prediction in no order so far: Malta, Lithuania, Sweden, Cyprus, Norway, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Ukraine and Belgium. Belgium won me after the rehearsal I really liked the stage and the all package. I still think Ireland, Croatia and Azerbaijan will qualify, but I have the feeling that Russia will go trought somehow and it will affect one of this 3 songs and maybe even Sweden. The juries will love Sweden, they always do even if the song is bad, it all will depende on the televote. About Norway, im pretty confident to be honest, it has a good appeal for both juries and televotes. About Romania I afraid it will be a bit forgotten in the middle of so many upbeat song and elaborated stages even thought it is a very good song, im gonna wait for the other rehearsals to judge this one better. Everyone else will go trought no problem I think.
My top 10 finalists: 1 Lithuania 2 Malta 3 Russia 4 Croatia 5 Ukraine 6 Cyprus 7 Ireland 8 Sweden 9 Romania 10 Belgium or Azerbaijan Israel could sneak in but very unlikely, Australia wasn't ever my fave and with her not present on Rotterdam I don't think she's qualifying. The rest I do not think have a chance
I respect your opinion but Australia is at a big disadvantage because they aren't on the real stage but then again in 2017 a lot of people thought Isaiah wasn't going to qualify and yet he did. I think Montaignes performance will actually shock a lot of people because it looks really good so far. People don't like the song because of "bad vocals" and yet I'd like them try to sing a song as hard as what that is. As for Israel I think she could qualify but it really depends.
People won't ask why TIX is wearing wings because the title itself is Fallen Angel. Even a 5 year old can comprehend it visually lol. Malta just level the playing field. The used to be borderline qualifiers are now rising in the odds. The line that was previously set is now unclear on who's going to qualify. OMG! 😇👼
MY PREDICTIONS {No judging} 1. Croatia 2. Lithuania 3. Cyprus 4. Russia 5. Australia 6. Azerbaijan 7. Israel 8. Malta 9. Ireland or Ukraine 10. Romania
@@RuddeyBoy90 Tny so much. I hope they will fix everything that needed to be fixed and I hope she will go trough the Grand Finale. I am so happy that the Netherlands is hosting the ESC this years. Everything looks so beautifully done. I wish Jeangu good luck too. I am sending my kindest wishes from Croatia :)
I think Belgium really will. At the time they enter the stage, people realise that a different and refreshing thing in this semi is going to take place, just at the right moment.
It’s so hard! But right now, based on what everybody is saying: Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, Norway, Israel, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Malta. That’s on par with how qualification usually goes (4 first half and 6 second half).
At this point I want my country (Belgium) to withdraw because it seems fans don't want to vote for quality. I'm pretty bored. My qualifiers of SF1 would be (in the running order): Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, Croatia, Belgium, Israel, Ukraine and Malta.
I will vote for quality, in fact my only vote(s) in the SF will go to Belgium Hooverphonic should qualify if Sennek was only 20 points from qualification with a much worse performance
MY PREDICTIONS 1. Malta 2. Cyprus 3. Lithuania 4. Sweden 5. Croatia 6. Russia 7. Ireland 8. Azerbaijan 9. Romania 10. Ukraine ••• 11. Israel 12. Belgium 13. Norway 14. Australia 15. Slovenia 16. North Macedonia ••• I think Sweden will do very well with the juries, but not so well with the televotes. Although it will probably be enough for 4th place because of the jury/televote difference between the rest of the countries. Romania only made me doubt because of todays vocal rehearsal. She has the fans but if this is the first thing a casual viewer sees I don't think it'll stay in their minds. Yet I gave her the edge purely because I had her in 4th place originally. Ukraine will get DESTROYED by the juries but televoters will give this at least 80 points and I think it will JUST be enough. I don't think Norway will make it. Poland's song back then had better vocals, a better story, a less cliché staging. I don't see that comparison at all. Norway could definately surprise but not at all in the way Poland did. Between Israel, Croatia & Azerbaijan I think Israel might be the female bop that gets eliminated. Purely because of the kind of generic song they have. It might be controversial but I think Croatia is dead certain in, so it's between Azerbaijan & Israel. The whistle note might give Israel the edge of the juries though. Russia's rehearsal made me flip her from 12th to 6th because of the ICONIC staging. The televoters will go for her obviously, Russia has enough momentum in Europe. This song grew on me as well hehe, I just can't see a finale without this anymore. So that's it for me! I have to say, except for Malta, Cyprus, Lithuania & Sweden who will obviously make it and North Macedonia who will obviously not make it this is the hardest semi ever to predict. We just don't know what the juries are willing to go for. I CAN'T WAIT!💗
I really want Australia to qualify. I think the song is really fun and has some unexpected twists. Montaigne has an amazing voice. It’s a real shame that she can’t come to Rotterdam and perform live and I feel like that could hurt her already low chances.
@@robrobsen9727 It was not a mistake, I really do not think Ukraine will reach the final, I feel that if they have the support of the televoting the juries will give low points, or none ... and vice versa... It's just a prediction...
My thoughts after the first two days: I think Lithuania and Sweden are safe, both of them had no reason to make any major changes to their staging from their respective NFs, and they both still look like strong packages. I think Ukraine is a good pick to qualify after the staging they showed us today. It's definitely a stand out. I see Ireland and Romania in the same category of "these have big potential but need to fix things" for now. Both have creative staging ideas. My pick for a dark horse is Belgium. I think it could stand out amongst all of the female dance pop entries of the second half. It's dark and intimate and I don't see any other song fighting for the same votes, while there are 5 dance pop songs. (Cyprus, Croatia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Malta) Speaking of those dance pop entries, I cannot see all of them qualifying. There's just too much of one flavour on offer here, I can't see all 5 surviving this semi final. Cyprus and Malta look safe, Croatia's chances seem to have been boosted a little after a strong rehearsal today. I'm not sure about Israel and Azerbaijan for now. I can still see nearly all of the countries qualifying as of now, but I want to see second rehearsals to have a clearer opinion.
10 to qualify Ireland, Lithuania, Cyprus, Norway, Malta, Sweden, israel, North Macedonia, Belgium. Ukraine, and Slovenia. wouldnt care if I ever heard any of the others again.
For me my top for semi-final 1 after rehearsals for my taste: By a French 1-Ireland 2-Romania 3-Ukraine 4-Croatia 5-Malta 6-Russia 7-Israel 8-Sweden 9-Austria 10-Cyprus 11-Azerbjan 12-Belgium 13-Slovenia 14-North Macedonia 15-Lithuania 16-Norway
Personally i think Azerbaijan gonna definitely qualify and even fight for winning 1st semi final televote along with Cyprus, Croatia, possibly Lithuania and Ukraine. Malta after seeing rehearsal gonna finish 5-7 in semi final imo. If before rehearsal Malta was definitely winner of semi then not winner of semi is not so clear. Juries will hard push Sweden which will make it qualify too. Russia would squeeze through. Ireland pleasantly surprised me too and i think it'd qualify too. Really curious about Romania camerawork because it'll definitely play huge part in performance and on chances of qualifying, really love Romania song.
Azerbaijan winning the 1st semi final, even in televoting? 😅Everyone is mostly agreeing that she'll be fighting to qualify. I don't think Azerbaijan has ever won a semi final in televoting, even in her strongest years.
@@purplepassionpaws i said it'd be fighting to win televote, I'm seeing that audience would vote for it, but looking that there's other songs too which audience would love I'm thinking that televote results would be really close. I'm not sure which one between Lithuania, Croatia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Cyprus and maybe even Malta would win it. But i could see those 6 songs making top 6 of televote. If Azerbaijan is unlucky with being that 6th place in televote and juries drowning it then yeah it wouldn't qualify but I'm still thinking there would be enough points to make it safely go through.
@@purplepassionpaws Azerbaijan has been 2nd from 2008 to 2011, they actually won their semi in 2013 but haven't managed to get back in the top 5 until 2019. I don't think AZ will win their semi this year, but the ethnic side of the song and the fact that it is one of the last countries to perform might help them to oustand the other bangers from this semi.
I understand the worry about Russia with the juries but juries love songs with a good message and Russia has that. Maybe I'm too excited from the staging but I can see a top 5 or even top 3 televote result for Russia so overall safe qualifier
Problem is italy sent a message song a few years back with some english translations appearing on the led's and it did not score well with the juries at all. Plus for various political reasons Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Lithuania juries may well give Russia 0 points, nothing at all to do with the song. I also think Azerbaijanis wont televote for it as they might well remember what happened last time citezens voted for a country not liked by their government. Juries have historically not rated rap or traditional songs highly (exception ukraine but a) part of the song was in English and b) she had amazing vocals.) It is also going on 3rd which contrary to popular belief is actually the slot statistically least likely to qualify. That said I hope that she can beat these odds and qualify
It's hard to predict, but based on the opinon's of TeamESCUnited in Ahoy Arena and personal taste i would suggest (in random order): Sure qualifier: Ireland Russia Ukraine Malta Lithuania Cyprus Romania Croatia Borderline qualifier: Belgium Oh I completely byepassed Sweden. That's quite shocking. I think that the above mentioned songs really belong in the Grand Final. "Voices" isn't a bad song and Tusse is a really likeable person. Sweden is a possible replace for Ireland, if Lesley doesn't improve vocals. I really don't hope that Ireland doesn't qualify because I really like Lesley Roy as a person, as she is charismatic and the song is just excellent. I also can see Romania non-qualifying as Roxen is not the most confident person on stage, but her vocals always are giving me goosebumps. As Boris said this song really needs an empathic connection to the televoters. The lack of televote could kick them out of the Top 10. I really don't hope so, but I can see the potential of that happening. But maybe she is a Blanche-Case of 2017 in Kiew and will prove us all wrong. I really hope so. Allthough I think Juries really will appreciate Belgium's song, televoters may be more in the mood for fun uptempo songs and they can potentially destroy this. Vice verca I think Russia could be destroyed by the Juries, as Matt said. I think the last place in the final will be between Slovenia, Azerbaijan and Israel. At the moment I think Israel is going to make it through, because her vocals really surprised me, and she seems to be a very cute and sweet person. Sadly I think Australia won't qualify, because Montaigne isn't present at Ahoy Arena and the performance will be played from a live on tape - video. But I also can see the potential of this qualifying. Juries in the past always appreciated Australia and televoters may go for it, too. For me personally, after first listening, this song seemed a mess to me. But then I listened again and again. And every time I listened to it there were nuances of musical elements, that excited me and the mix of the musical elements seemed really innovative to me. "Technicolour" is a mix of different styles I never heard before and I think that should be rewarded. It's really a shame the Australian delegation isn't allowed to travel to Rotterdam and we can't see Montaigne live on stage. This Semi is a really tough one, maybe the best one we've ever seen on Eurovision and everyone deserves a spot in the final. The only sure non-qualifier for me is North Macedonia
The EBU stated that they want it to be as FAIR as possible for all countries competing. Australia is at a big disadvantage because they aren't on the real stage but then again in 2017 a lot of people thought Isaiah wasn't going to qualify and yet he did. I think Montaignes performance will actually shock a lot of people because it looks really good so far. People don't like the song because of "bad vocals" and yet I'd like them try to sing a song as hard as what that is.
Holy shit didn't expect Ireland! Cheers! Im surprised all 3 of you have Israel out, I still think juries will potentially save it if its performed well on the night. I think its potentially borderline but thats all that matters.
@@morrybo12 True and based on today I think its the one with the most work to do but Israel actually came 2nd (behind Malta) on Eurojury which would indicate there is real jury appeal in this song, based on today they could be in trouble but with a Jury friendly song its hard to rule them out.
@@ESCunited Yeah at this point it could miss out as the staging really lacks edge or originality that Cyprus and Croatia have (they aren't exactly original either but they have edge).
Damn i'm glad i don't have to make this prediction it even got harder because ireland staging is promising and i thought it wouldn't get through because i like it I am so hyped for tomorrow 🤪
I think Azerbaijan will have the support of the Turkish diaspora due to the instrumentation, this could give them a nice televote boost. There are many jury friendly songs in this semi so I'm not sure how highly they will rank Belgium and Slovenia. I dont think either will do too strongly with the televote as the are also many televote friendly songs.

Let's be clear about one thing: the commentators will tell Tix' story when presenting his entry. He has written and composed the song himself, and every single metaphor in the song has a deeper meaning. I know that some sentences in the song are cheesy, but the meaning behind it all is so impactful. It is about not feeling enough, it is about not feeling worthy of someone's love and compassion, it is about how being bullied and teased can hurt your self-image, it is about how to get up when everyone is trying to tear you down. I am pretty sure that the Norwegian delegation is doing everything they can to make sure the commentators will say this. Tix' story was not told before the Norwegian grand final. But right before the grand final, Tix opened up and told Norway about his story. The song all the sudden got so much more deep and meaningful. And not only did he beat Keiino after this, he DESTROYED them by referring to the number of votes. This showed how much impact this song can have when his story is being told. And believe me, Tix and the Norwegian delegation are making sure this will happen.
My prediction is 1. Lithuania 2. Malta 3. Ireland 4. Cyprus 5. Sweden 6. Russia 7. Belgium 8. Croatia 9. Romania 10. Slovenia 11. Azerbaijan 12. Israel 13. North Macedonia 14. Ukraine 15. Norway 16. Australia
I can't imagine Ukraine not qualifying. For me this is stronger than Sweden, but I agree with Croatia and Israel not qualifying both, those two look so simular
@@irondasgr It will qualify. If we like it or not. This will get lots of votes from their neighbor countries. There will be blockvoting in this semi, that's a sure thing.
@@adrianos7334 This is very true. First thing is always to check what countries are in. And Ukraine has always been neighbour friendly. A little mother in block voting.
The team's reasoning behind these predictions is exactly right, even if I might disagree slightly with some selections. Personally, I'm not so convinced that Belgium will qualify. There are so many memorable productions here that I fear Belgium might fade into their shadows. But who knows? It's a total bloodbath.
Belgium is memorable for whoever wants to vote for different kind of songs. It's literally the only dark song here, they went full dark and elegant with tha stage and it will stand out a lot after "lightness" and glitters from Cyprus, Norway, Croatia. Televoters gave 20 points to Sennek and she had not Netherlands and Germany voting, so I think Hooverphonic will actually get at least 100 points overall and that's enough to go through, but it may be 11th as well if they are really unlucky
@@Escuniverse4168 Perhaps you’re right. We can only speculate about how first time viewers might react to it. I guess we’ll find out soon. Personally speaking, if I were to remember five songs from this semi after seeing them all just once, Belgium probably wouldn’t be one of them. But it will have some support for sure.
@@paalnordahl5562 It really depends on the kind of songs you usually listen to. I never remembered Tick Tock at first, I found it extremely forgettable and basic, but the presentation is suitable for the song and I think people will appreciate. On the other hand, I had The Wrong Place in my head just after my first listen. Anyway you're right, we'll discover soon. Can't wait 😄
@@Escuniverse4168 Exactly! It’s so subjective. This is the most difficult semi final to predict in years! Anything could happen but I think some surprises are definitely guaranteed. Maybe even Vasil will qualify 😆
@@paalnordahl5562 I literally wrote the same thing about Vasil two minutes ago😂 Anyway I see 6 countries that can't fail (but maybe I am wrong) because they will receive a very high score from at least one voting panel (jury or televoting); they are: Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Malta, Cyprus and Sweden. The other 4 spots are indeed up fro grabs.
I worry about Romania (her voice) and Belgium (their zero presentation) :-( I am very happy for the presentation of Ukraine! Worst presentation : Malta (it will qualify unfortunately because of the jury vote and the money they spend for promotion)
I think Malta will still get plenty of televotes. Yes, the outfits are kind of dreadful, and the staging is not what it could have been, but the song is still very strong and Destiny is a phenomenal singer.
My qualifier predictions: 1. Malta 2. Lithuania 3. Ukraine 4. Cyprus 5. Norway 6. Russia 7. Sweden 8. Romania 9. Azerbaijan 10. Could be everyone else!
Direct contenders : Sweden 1 male + 4 dancers Norway 1 male + 4 dancer Sweden has the votes because is Sweden and the lyrics. Tusse stage presence is weak. Norway has the teenagers and people who will identify themselves with the lyrics. Also, Tix is a celebrity in Norway. So, I think that Norway goes to final and Sweden not.
Tix may be a celebrity in Norway but they can't vote for themselves and he's unknown in most of the rest of Europe so he may struggle for votes, especially coming after Cyprus.
@@jimw859 also especially with keiino being adored by most of Europe and since tix was the reason they won’t be at ESC this year will cause people to vote against it out of spite
Dismiss Australia at your own peril. From the snippet we saw. A lot of people who disliked it are now hyping her stage performance. She will qualify mark my words. The juries will lap it up.
Some point: it seems that this panel seems to overlook that viewers watching a 2 hour show need some variation. This panel is positive about all acts where artists are surrounded by 5 dancers, while I think that when viewers have seen some of them they are beginning to long for smth visually different. Artists surrounded by a couple of dancers will at a certain moment eliminate each other, meaning that some of them will survive while others in the same category will disappear because it's too much of the same category. Personally, I was getting bored of them and welcomed an entry like Belgium, something totally different with a totally other energy. The same about Russia. And when Malta came on stage I immediately thought 'again the same energy in one semi? These journalists know all the songs by heart, but the viewers don't and will get bored by more of the same. Does this panel think about the fact that too much of the same will lead to victims? When seeing this my opinion is, this will be a real chance for the guy behind the piano, Gjon, or the French chansonnière, Barbara, because in this field they will be unique and different.
I agree...I know a lot of people who are tired of almost the same songs from female artists, with the same dance routine, same outfits etc every year. Its kind of copy-paste.
What Boris is forgetting is that except Sweden Norway will not have any support from any other Scandinavian countries! Norway is not a secure qualifying.
Aaaahhh voting for neighbours like seriously... you like the song you vote for it.. if she goes through i will vote for Romania, the same with Norway but yeah agree about the same staging as in NF. From Czechia... From our neighbours i will only vote for Germany cause i like its message but not because its our neighbour soo sad about these people voting for neighbours.
@@djbillybopdjbillybop2817 this time we have 3 countries in that situation- Russia, because only Ukraine is in that semi, so no pro-russian countries, except maybe Azerbaijan, will vote for her, same with Sweden and Norway, and Cyprus is losing their bestie...so they might suffer due to that.
Here are my predictions: Safe Qers: 🇱🇹 (In contention to win the semi and maybe the final too.) 🇷🇺 (I knew Russia would pleasantly surprise with Russian Woman.) 🇸🇪 (Come on, the song, the singer, the backstory, the staging, it's going through and you know it!) 🇨🇾 (Best female dance routine by far.) 🇺🇦 (Possible winner of the semi final.) 🇲🇹 (Not looking like a winner but Destiny will sing her way into the final for sure.) Likely Qers: 🇧🇪 (In a sea of female-led bangers and complex dance routines, this is a welcome break from all of that madness, and juries will especially appreciate it.) 🇸🇯 (TIX should go through. He has the most fully-formed narrative in this semi final. He has a good song, he has memorable staging, and the backstory is an added bonus. He also sings well, so Norway should make it.) 🇮🇱 (Eden deserves to go through, but worry that she won't because there are so many similar acts in the second half.) Borderline: 🇮🇪 [My own country. 😅 I wrote off Lesley as a total NQ after Saturday's rehearsal. However, now that we have seen what the countries in the second half have got to offer and how most of them will cancel out each other, I am a bit more hopeful that our staging will stand out. Yesterday's rehearsal wasn't perfect but if they can pull everything together in time for the next run-through and Lesley gives at least a semi-decent vocal performance (even if a performer is not vocally spot on, good staging can make up for mediocre vocals), she stands a fair chance of making it.] 🇦🇺 [Judging Technicolour strictly on its musical merits, it doesn't deserve to go through. However, Australia can take a mediocre song, give it memorable staging and qualify that way, so (perhaps against my better judgement) it's unwise to write off Australia until we see the finished product.] Unlikely Qers: 🇹🇩 (the whole act is largely unremarkable, and despite the backstory I think will wash over the viewers, maybe some jurors too) 🇭🇷 (unlikely but not impossible, but will qualify at the expense of Israel if so) 🇦🇿 (I don't see Azerbaijan making it at all, I'm afraid. I don't think the viewers' attention will sustain four of nearly the exact same song in a very short space of time. Plus Malta comes on with something similar two songs later and Destiny will outshine Efendi, vocally.) 🇲🇰 [One of North Macedonia or Slovenia could qualify because we have so many "copycats" in this semi final, especially in the second half. However, they're both sandwiched between songs that have (or could have) very strong visual identities, so it's understandable why they're not seen as potential Qers. Maybe one will go through, but certainly not both.] 🇸🇮
I personally don't see it that way. I'll watch it again in a few days and maybe change my mind. Still think that the juries may just completely demolish it. - Matt
@@ESCunited I don't understand why you think Russia will struggle with the jury while Ukraine won't. I think we all remember how the jury felt about the last white-voice song, right?
Boris says that Norway feels like Poland colour of your life that ended high in the televote, but remember I was one of the people that voted for that Polish song. I would not vote for Norway. Its not at all the same type of feeling. Sadly enough the song doesnt bring be any emotion while I want to hear it in the song.... Ps. I liked Azerbaijan actually. Its one of the pop songs that I appreciate more because of the ethnic vibes and the full package that I like. I am not convinced for Malta. She sing incredible good, but so do most. But I need Belgium in it( i will be voting for it)
Well we disagree than. Norway gives me lots of emotions. I think a lot of people will vote for this song. Azerbaijan I don't get the staging and the song gives me 0 emotions
Norway is a sad song with kind of a happy-melancholic melody going to 2000's but its just kind of basic... definitely bordeline qualifier even though i personally like it.
I like Norway but I think they've overdone it with the costumes, It look's like something out of a cheap school play & trying too hard to get attention which for me , detracts from the song which is (in my opinion) very good. They should strip it back.
Well I simply like their song. I love electronic music. For me they are definetely thd best of this semi. I'm sure they will do very well. By the way, I was not fan of their song previous year.

Hooverphonic should qualify if Sennek was only 20 points from qualification with a much worse performance
Ukraine woke up and decided to slay.
Even if Sweden send a dog barking, they would go to the final.

I think Sweden will do very well with the juries, but not so well with the televotes.
My predictions so far (in no particular order): Ireland, Malta, Israel, Norway, Lithuania, Sweden, Cyprus, Croatia, Belgium and... .... Romania??
OMG you made a mistake and forgot Ukraine 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I'd take out Sweden & put Ukraine in👍
@@robrobsen9727 It was not a mistake, I really do not think Ukraine will reach the final, I feel that if they have the support of the televoting the juries will give low points, or none ... and vice versa... It's just a prediction...
@@aoifed8913 I don't like any of them BUT I think the juries will give Sweden a lot of points as always.
@@NguvuMX Unfair as they really don't deserve the points. Perhaps the jury will surprise us this year😊
IRELAND 🇮🇪 Lesley is a definite yes for me! Please get behind her and Vote guys and gals 🙏
My thoughts after the first two days:
I think Lithuania and Sweden are safe, both of them had no reason to make any major changes to their staging from their respective NFs, and they both still look like strong packages.
(Cyprus, Croatia, Israel, Azerbaijan, Malta)
Speaking of those dance pop entries, I cannot see all of them qualifying.
I hope that Macedonia will qualify. Please Vote for Vasil#6

Romania so high? After the rehearsals??? Are you sure?
Ireland will not qualify. No chance. Lithuania and Belgium are sure qualifiers. And Malta, Cyprus or Italy will be the winner of this year.
I love Ireland this year, it's quality, but Cyprus borderline for you? Did you listen well?
@@-_YouMayFind_- For me yes the stage seam amazing and she has a good voice she was just nervous.
I need Roxen in the final please
@@cagla1606 In 2008 they came no where special! I only know of 2013.
Yes I want Ireland to qualify!!!
Juries have historically not rated rap or traditional songs highly (exception ukraine but a) part of the song was in English and b) she had amazing vocals.)
It is also going on 3rd which contrary to popular belief is actually the slot statistically least likely to qualify.
That said I hope that she can beat these odds and qualify
@@han-oq6bo sorry but Russia and Azerbaijan in a good relationships , why would you think it is bad
It's hard to predict, but based on the opinon's of TeamESCUnited in Ahoy Arena and personal taste i would suggest (in random order):
Sure qualifier:
Ireland
Russia
Ukraine
Malta
Lithuania
Cyprus
Romania
Croatia
Borderline qualifier:
Belgium
Oh I completely byepassed Sweden.
Yeah, it is indeed a really tough song to sing and that should be rewarded by the Juries.
Loved this discussion! Very eloquent points from all of you.
I still think sweden could be a non qualifier
thank god i'm not the only one
I hope also but Sweden in Eurovision is like a dictactor ! Never can't qualify ....Sadly!
I'll be very surprised if this gets more than 30-40 points with the televote
Same, Sweden does nothing for me unfortunately😕
I can bet a lot it won't be in the televoters top 10. But ofc it will be top 3/5 for the juries.

Holy shit didn't expect Ireland! Cheers!
Im surprised all 3 of you have Israel out, I still think juries will potentially save it if its performed well on the night. I think its potentially borderline but thats all that matters.
Yeah, it's hard right now. I'm not counting out Israel at all but I was surprised that none of us put it in. That may still change though :) - Matt

My prediction is

@@adrianos7334 I don't like it either. Solovay was amazing, but this one...sounds random... It's a polarizing case.
Ireland won't

Anyway I see 6 countries that can't fail (but maybe I am wrong) because they will receive a very high score from at least one voting panel (jury or televoting); they are: Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Malta, Cyprus and Sweden. The other 4 spots are indeed up fro grabs.
I worry about Romania (her voice) and Belgium (their zero presentation) :-(
I am very happy for the presentation of Ukraine!
Think if ireland do not make the final this year they should think about pulling out of eurovision altogether

2. Lithuania
3. Ukraine
4. Cyprus

6. Russia

Direct contenders :
Sweden 1 male + 4 dancers
Norway 1 male + 4 dancer
Sweden has the votes because is Sweden and the lyrics.
@@jimw859 also especially with keiino being adored by most of Europe and since tix was the reason they won’t be at ESC this year will cause people to vote against it out of spite
hahaha, Matt, you forgot to ask Boris about Malta! 😏🙄🤣
Dismiss Australia at your own peril. From the snippet we saw. A lot of people who disliked it are now hyping her stage performance. She will qualify mark my words. The juries will lap it up.
Maybe she is going to Fly on the "Shineeee moment"
I like Boris's point of view
What Boris is forgetting is that except Sweden Norway will not have any support from any other Scandinavian countries! Norway is not a secure qualifying.
Aaaahhh voting for neighbours like seriously... you like the song you vote for it.. if she goes through i will vote for Romania, the same with Norway but yeah agree about the same staging as in NF. From Czechia... From our neighbours i will only vote for Germany cause i like its message but not because its our neighbour soo sad about these people voting for neighbours.
The song is playing on radio in Germany people could like it.
That is why Ireland is always at a disadvantage but I see your point.
Here are my predictions:
Safe Qers:
🇱🇹 (In contention to win the semi and maybe the final too.)
🇷🇺 (I knew Russia would pleasantly surprise with Russian Woman.)
🇸🇪 (Come on, the song, the singer, the backstory, the staging, it's going through and you know it!)
🇨🇾 (Best female dance routine by far.)
🇺🇦 (Possible winner of the semi final.)
🇲🇹 (Not looking like a winner but Destiny will sing her way into the final for sure.)
Likely Qers:
🇧🇪 (In a sea of female-led bangers and complex dance routines, this is a welcome break from all of that madness, and juries will especially appreciate it.)
🇸🇯 (TIX should go through. He has the most fully-formed narrative in this semi final. He has a good song, he has memorable staging, and the backstory is an added bonus. He also sings well, so Norway should make it.)
🇮🇱 (Eden deserves to go through, but worry that she won't because there are so many similar acts in the second half.)
Borderline:
🇮🇪 [My own country. 😅 I wrote off Lesley as a total NQ after Saturday's rehearsal. However, now that we have seen what the countries in the second half have got to offer and how most of them will cancel out each other, I am a bit more hopeful that our staging will stand out. Yesterday's rehearsal wasn't perfect but if they can pull everything together in time for the next run-through and Lesley gives at least a semi-decent vocal performance (even if a performer is not vocally spot on, good staging can make up for mediocre vocals), she stands a fair chance of making it.]
🇦🇺 [Judging Technicolour strictly on its musical merits, it doesn't deserve to go through. However, Australia can take a mediocre song, give it memorable staging and qualify that way, so (perhaps against my better judgement) it's unwise to write off Australia until we see the finished product.]
Unlikely Qers:
🇹🇩 (the whole act is largely unremarkable, and despite the backstory I think will wash over the viewers, maybe some jurors too)
🇭🇷 (unlikely but not impossible, but will qualify at the expense of Israel if so)
🇦🇿 (I don't see Azerbaijan making it at all, I'm afraid. I don't think the viewers' attention will sustain four of nearly the exact same song in a very short space of time. Plus Malta comes on with something similar two songs later and Destiny will outshine Efendi, vocally.)
🇲🇰 [One of North Macedonia or Slovenia could qualify because we have so many "copycats" in this semi final, especially in the second half. However, they're both sandwiched between songs that have (or could have) very strong visual identities, so it's understandable why they're not seen as potential Qers. Maybe one will go through, but certainly not both.]
🇸🇮
I am Irish also and well done to you been Honest like all Irish fans I still hope she will get through.
Matt... Russia is a lock at this point
I personally don't see it that way. I'll watch it again in a few days and maybe change my mind. Still think that the juries may just completely demolish it. - Matt

A bit early to predict...
It's never to early to predict.:) We'll do another one after round 2 to see where things land. This is really not to be taken too seriously. - Matt
@@ESCunited i really like you're doing this already!! I love to hear your predictions!
Belgium will qualify for sure and Sweden not!
I think Norway will qualify, but it will be by the skin of its teeth and it will be absolutely destroyed in the final.
And North Macedonia will qualify!
Lithuania wont go in the final, why such i hype with that song, i dont get it!?
They are all still hyped by last year's nice song. But this time it's not this the case.
Well I simply like their song. I love electronic music. For me they are definetely thd best of this semi. I'm sure they will do very well. By the way, I was not fan of their song previous year.
Top5 easily
Destiny of MALTA Number 1
That drama guy in the middle ruins all of your videos. He's obnoxious!
Well said he is like a spoilt child if you don't talk to me I am not paying attention
Ireland? Disaster
😍🇦🇿😍🇦🇿😍🇦🇿
I'm sorry but your predictions are weird 😂
Why?
Maybe I used the wrong word, I mean your predictions are quite different from others I've heard and different from bookmakers. Greetings! ❤️
I wouldn't be surprised if Malta would disqualified
Why?
???
@@Copyrightbreaker22 There is always a surprise every year. A country which is very high on betting odds but they are not reaching to the Final. I'm expecting this year Bulgaria or Iceland from 2 semi final and Malta or Lithuania from the first
@@Ethniki-Gerontokori disqualify is not possible anymore, but the suprise is the outfit of hers that was suprising in a bad way for me
disqualify and non qualify don't mean the same thing. disqualify implies she is removed from the contest because a rule is broken.
Romania and Norway NQ
AZB, Croatia and Israel will fight like 3 dogs for a qualification bone!! Belgium sure into the Finals!!
Sweden will not qualify in my opinion. It's a very boring song and in my opinion very plagiarised- sounds like Bulgaria's Bones and Russia's A Million Voices- but a substandard poor copy!
Lithuania will win ESC 2021.
Azerbaijan song is much better than Israel and Croatia, and it's better than Cyprus.
Well, there you go jumping on the trashing and ignoring Vasil train. Meanwhile, go ahead and stan Russia as much as you want, I'll start rooting for them to see how accepted you are in Moscow in Eurovision 2022. Meanwhile, no problem in Destiny's messy Lizzo pastiche or Roxen's Billie Eilish karaoke. All with two of the most unlistenable people on your team. Sean is missed.
Hahahaha you played the sly card!
