    Those of us who love Jesus do not have to fear death. We will be saved from Hell, and we will be with God forever.

    Can Bryan (founder of Catholic Truth) explain why Catholic and not Orthodox church? He has masters in history and theology, so I think he is suited to answer this question regarding to eternal debate between papal primacy, papal supremacy, first among equals, universal jurisdiction, etc.

    Father Gill said that we will all die. In the Apostles Creed it says he will come again to judge the living and the dead. If we all die who will be the living? Did Father misquote?
    Thanks

    Beautiful hearing this. I have a question- if you are truly sorry for your sins and you go to confession and you are forgiven by the priest...do you still have to account for those sins or are they completely washed away?

    • @JengaJay

      If you go through the sacrament of penance then your venial and mortal sins may be forgiven (In that sense, a clean slate)

    "When the soul leaves the body"
    Do we have some scripture to substantiate the existence of a soul?

    • @garrybraithwaite5807
      @garrybraithwaite5807 4 года назад +1

      1Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
      Luke 12:20 But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?'
      There are many more

    • @CatholicTruthOfficial
      @CatholicTruthOfficial  4 года назад +1

      No, the Catholic Church does not believe in or except karma. Even though we will be rewarded or damned based on our good deeds or not, the Bible says we face judgment day immediately after death. Therefore there is no such thing as, or reincarnation. Did you watch one of our recent videos of a Hindu who converted to Catholicism? It's a great video if you haven't seen it. Hopefully many Indian people can find it. ruclips.net/video/SjNHC3Ow-Y0/видео.html

      @@melvynarland4390 hi, greetings from another Indian.. I am no expert in scripture but the same question bothered me especially from the salvation angle.. after many days of this question bothering me, i laid it before God.. the answer I got is a personal one( it may not be entirely a catholic view) but it brought me peace.. the answer I got in my prayers is this... only karma doesn't help us in our salvation journey bcoz it is not having God at the centre but self...
      We believe in the concept of grace wherein the good that I do is possible when I am in communion with God and the fruit of that love relationship is my good deeds.. so a catholic does a good deed not becuase he can do it ( like everybody does our father of the nation Gandhi is a perfect example here) but because the love of the father,son and spirit is so overwhelming that it pours out from him to his neighbour(it now becomes his 2nd nature).. my good works now become a reflection of God to others..
      I do not consciously put in efforts to do good karma but through God my actions start reflecting him..
      Thought of sharing this..( again a disclaimer.. this is a personal revelation and may not be perfectly in sync with our catholic faith )...

    I can't believe it. Another priest who claims if it's in the Bible it has to be correct! We know it's correct because the Church teaches it, not because it's written in the Bible. The Church taught about purgatory for 380 yrs before the Books of the Bible were chosen. Faith comes through hearing and not reading.
    The Church did not make it up because it was handed down from the Jewish teaching. Jesus taught it to His Chosen Twelve who safeguarded it and passed it on as they were instructed to do. It was then recorded in writing by the early Church Fathers and 'preserve' for all time in the Holy Catholic Bible which was put together in around 380-390; 230 yrs after the first book of the Bible was written. I trust this helps
