Think how many people have been in the ocean and had a Great White Shark right under them without knowing. Those kids would have had no idea that a literal Great White Shark was under them, checking them out if you hadnt showed them. Crazy.
As a biologist graduating early next year, finishing my last semester in the beginning of december, I'm so grateful for your work. It's really inspirational and motivating. Edit: I am officially a biologist now.
As someone who is from a small beach community I could never imagine not having all the amazing experiences the ocean has given to me just because of a fear that has been heightened by tv.
@@Skin-deepInk : Good for you, I spend 100+ days a year in the woods hunting and I fish fresh water all the time. You do your thing and I will do mine.
That's amazing footage! And the one kid was really flailing his arms and legs. The shark got SO close, yet the turned away. Nowadays, it's so popular to say "sharks are not dangerous". I think they are, but you can't blame them for being predators. And this shows they are FAR from just MINDLESS killers. You're doing the world a service, sir. Please keep sharing videos and hopefully... HOPEFULLY... people will start listening.
agreed.. im new to surfing and sharks were something that kinda scared the shit outta me lol.. but after watching some of these videos.. im not nearly as worried.. nice sharkies...
Like all predators, it's not mindless. It will not attack something just because. But it CAN attack and leave serious damage. Sure If you're a professional you can handle these creatures better than the average person, but the average person has no bussiness being this close to the sharks. They may panic and agitate the animal.
Realize that when the kid was looking right at the shark it did nothing then they got closer and the shark only move closer when one of the kids turn his back to the shark and started moving his legs and arm on top of the board now we watching from the drone we can see easily is a kid on a surfboard but ask your selves what did change in the view of the shark to make him move towards the kid what was the shark viewing at that moment is pretty easy to answer a SEAL that's why he moves to check it if that shark had attacked the kid everyone would blame the shark but is an animal been provoked and taunt but a kid looking like a seal
that shark was likely checking if he could have some breakfast but wasn't that hungry, 2 childs were lucky...if a shark is desperate for food that was their last encounter....it's all about luck when you encounter one...
You are so right in pointing out "Nowadays, it's so popular to say "sharks are not dangerous"". I was at a major aquarium one time where they petting the small sharks was allowed. I went up to the animator and was in the process of asking her about the safety of touching the creatures and their nature, etc., and she was a starting to speak glowingly of the animal (as humans often do humanize animals in human terms), when suddenly a kid yelled out he had been bit. She turned look at him and immediately dismissed that that did not happen. The kid was not close to us and she hadn't even seen his injury. In any case, it was a bite and the kid was attended to later. I find adults are irresponsible in messaging even in pre-schools and KGs with in-house petting visits that wild predatory animals are harmless, that it's just us humans that the "bad guys",
Marine biologist or not. Your videos are probably the most informative and interesting things on RUclips and that I have ever came across relating to Sharks. I have been fascinated by sharks since a small boy (now in my late 30s) and I love how youre advocating for these beautiful animals. Just wonderful and I love when I see you’ve posted new content 😊great job sir!
@PETER NORTH - THE SPLASH FATHER so humans know sharks are dangerous. Humans decide to ignore the obvious danger and swim in the sharks hunting grounds. That’s the humans’ fault. Obviously.
Couple of thoughts about this amazing footage: The paddle boarders tugging on Superman's cape were playing with fire. That type of stupidity that will eventually get kids like the boogie boarders at the end eaten. That was a close call.
@@taskforceknight9336 Well, sure, I'm no expert at this, but it seems possible to me that the drone might give them a sense of security and/or incite them to show off their courage.
@@coenpull4214 No what kind of logic is that? How is a drone going to physically save you from a shark attack? Its warning system. It cant fight off the shark. The kids were probably distracted trying to get the drones attention. Parents are supposed to teach their kids what it means if there is a drone nearby you at the beach
Yeah "shark infested waters" like bish if sharks were as intelligent as humans and roamed coastal cities for fun with fish bowls on their heads THEN you can say something is shark infested
Oh my, im upset just reading about fishing for sharks. I don't want to see it but I love how you show the natural behaviour of GW which in turn helps them. So im happy to support your channel and watch it.
Over 7.5 million sharks are “finned” annually worldwide. Their fins are cut off when they’re alive and dumped back into the water to drown. Humans are the predator who does the most damage. Everywhere. No creature great or small is safe.
I know this is not what you normally do on this channel, but i would love to see you, some day, gather some of the people in your videos, and have them see/react to their own encounters with these magnificent creatures
You would need to ensure that you had an ample supply of 'tinted, toilet tissue' on hand to provide for the inevitable 'bowel movements' induced by their realisation that they had actually participated in such 'close encounters of the (dorsal-finned) kind'!
This is my longest subscription on YT. This guydoes good work. Doesn't sensationalize the subject matter. Has proper respect for sharks and people. Classy guy.
Your videos are very important, probably more than you’ll ever know. They show the sharks natural behaviour when being observed and not interfered with. Thank you with all my heart for not sensationalising and being over dramatic. Love from Australia. ❤️❤️
At the same time ppl need to understand that sharks can be very dangerous to humans if we are in their environment & give them respect ! As the video shows we have two too many humans thinking we can share the sharks environment & that’s not what kids need to be taught! Only professionals should be in the ocean w the sharks doing scientist observations & helping the sharks when they have fishing line & hooks in their mouth!
I'm really beginning to believe in your channel, and what you are doing. I realize you don't know everything, but you are learning as you go - and you are teaching as well. Thanks for your video's TMA. I am glad I subscribed.
Thank you for your videos, I have a bit of a phobia (if someone can have a bit...) but the soothing music and your calming voice, and watching the sharks just living their lives (not the over produced drama of a "shark week" doc) is really therapeutic. This is the first time I've ever felt bad for sharks. My feelings are now on par with how i feel about Lions and Tigers. Beautiful and majestic creatures, but you don't go wondering into their territory and harass them. I guess I'm developing a healthy respect vs. A blinded fear. So thank you for that!
Sharks have never caused a phobia in me. These are beautiful, very intelligent and graceful fish. By the way, they are much safer than the same dogs, not to mention lions and tigers.
I honestly am very happy for you in your changing mindset. It is, indeed, very unfortunate that Shark Week has devolved into a manic, hyperactive, overly-dramatic show just featuring frenzied animals and overpaid celebrities with hard-driving metal music to cap it off. It used to be so educational; now, it's on par with comic book movies. It's perfectly OK to have, as you say, a slight fear of sharks; we naturally fear what we don't understand or can't control. So, as long as you temper fear with curiosity, as you're doing, you can show these amazing creatures the respect they deserve. Props to you! 🙂

Yes I agree. I have watched a video a few mos ago about a scientific group I believe or at least a very professional group of ppl that went out searching for these type problems so they could remove fish hooks , netting, & fishing line! There was a particular diver & I can’t remember his name at the moment, but he took a box crate of fish to the bottom at places that were 10 plus feet of water & he would remove hooks out of sharks ! He had a special given talent for helping & it really seem like the sharks appreciated his help as none ever tried to bite nor attack him! He was so courageous & wonderful for doing this for the sharks! The echo system requires all these animals to keep the ocean clean & not over populated. If not for sharks the oceans would be full of dead carcasses. Just like Vultures clean up the dead animals on highways & etc…. Greetings from North Carolina USA
I found more information about how to help the sharks! Check out Ocean Ramsey's talks about sharks, especially this one (at 54:55): ruclips.net/video/JgSH9nnAA7A/видео.html
Again your footage/documentation is phenomenal. Those kids on boogie boards, that entire scene, was sobering. The shark using the swell to it's advantage in stealthy observation/stalking. Again, I really enjoy your channel. Thank you. eb
Im so glad i stumbled across this absolute Gem of a channel! I really love every video that you release. Its the pictures, the relaxing music, your way of observing and telling but most of all your view on this creatures and the ocean as an ecosystem. You may not see yourself as a scientist but you certainly bring everything into your video that a scientist needs: Curiousity, respect for the subject, passion on the topic and altruism. Your way of putting all that in a video in such an harmonic way, makes you more of a scientist than you may think. Thanks again showing us your way of looking at the creatures!
I really hope one day that one of the research specialists you speak to would like to join you in creating a documentary with your footage and their knowledge on behaviours and habitat! That would be so incredible, especially if you add interviews with beach goers who are filmed having close calls themselves and learning the sharks behaviour towards them. I know you didn't mean to do any of this but your growing passion and talent is contagious and I'm so glad I found you! Keep it up! :)
@@thomasflores7817 yep, true. His claims are not supported by facts. The fact that a shark has a hook on its mouth doesn't mean that a person was trying to 'catch a white shark'. I think this dude thinks that white sharks are only big shark in the planet 🤦
@@heeheh0000 exactly. We’re fishing for mackerel, not white sharks lol it’s called bycatch. The amount of times I went fishing for one thing and accidentally caught something else.
Here's a theory: Having read about and watched tons of shark footage, could this not be an example of humans not being part of the shark ecology? I think the shark in the pink boogeyboard footage thought he was trailing a seal or a ray. When that fish realized this was not recognizable food and found itself in very shallow water its instincts kicked in and he let the kids be. This shark was not just a simple juvenile, it looked to be ten feet. Terrific footage, kudos to the Malibu Artist.
agree, bunch of comments of people that think sharks are human killing machines, too much shark week for the average american. Sharks cant care less about humans. this is the best proof.
Great whites will only attack when they mistake people for seals or turtles or when they're agitated or provoked. Humans are not on their menu: our bodies contain little fat but too many tough bones for them to digest. Great whites will probably check you out, but will mind their business and go on their way. That covers at least 95% of GWS-human encounters.
Yes. I’ve seen much smaller sharks on other videos chance a woman out of the water!! The small shark had to flip himself back into the small wave to get back out to the ocean! He almost beached himself! His behavior made him look as if he was hungry & may not have eaten in awhile! Even tho the shark I saw in the other video was 3 ft long he was definitely chasing the human & all he was seeing was lunch!! I don’t think a hungry shark is going to be a picky eater!! Blood is blood & meat is meat! Yes I know they prefer blubber & fatty tissue.
@@spacecowboy07723 that’s a very good point, but you also mentioned that it’s a case of mistaken identity, which is also true! A human in a black wetsuit or rash guard looks like a seal when seen from below silhouetted against the sun. It’s that fusiform shape, and sharks don’t have great eyesight to begin with. So they see “black colour + shape” and go “oh sweet, dinner”. But Jaws is expecting delicious blubber and gets rubber, and foam and balsa wood and screaming thrashing whoa-not-a-seal, and most tend to Nope out of the situation after that. Which doesn’t make the human feel any better about this unfortunate case of mistaken identity, of course, but it isn’t like the fish went out of its way to be mean. But I wonder because I don’t know and now I’m curious (because it’s Australia and you guys have bull sharks so for all I know they do eat people on purpose) - in the cases of sharks attacking surfers: is it a whoopsie bite and the person makes it to the beach and passes away there, or is the shark actually attacking with intent to hunt?
I would’ve never thought great white would be so close to us in the water. Really mind blowing just to think as a kid I would swim out far from the shore 🤦🏽♂️. It’s amazing how intelligent they are.

I work one day a week now at a private beach that just opened to residents as security on day 1 we had 2 boarders doing this with a shark. Even though there was no one swimming at the time the 2 boarders were immediately called into shore told to pack up and trespassed from the property. not only are they banned for life on that specific beach property they also lost a small fortune on the cost of renting one of the cabins there over the summer.

I live in Miami. I always never go past the shallows. I use to take my son out to deeper waters until ironically, a guy with drone footage showed us how close we were to a shark. A very different take, but I've been in the water on multiple occasions with dolphins in close proximity with swimmers/surfers trying to get closer to the animal by paddling towards them. My stance has always been to be thankful for the experience, instead of getting in their personal space. Being that this was a great white, which has an awful reputation given films such as Jaws and media outlets naming and shaming them for doing what a shark does in it's habitat, I am really disappointed in the paddleboarders for having chased it to the shallows - it's irresponsible and selfish. I hope they were told off for their reckless behaviour, and if not, that they see this video and realise how wrong they were in doing this. It's such a privilege to share this space with all animals of the ocean, let's not take advantage of it!
I agree I hate ppl harassing any animal. But I do not think there is a risk of the shark attacking in that case, they are not fighters they are opportunistic predators, They always swim away if you try to approach them concerned for their own safety If a shark charges against you and you punch him it will go away, if you try to do that to a lion or tiger they will be so much happy to destroy you

I’m thinking they didn’t see the shark. I remember when I was that age & a few yrs older I was always looking in the water whenever I would lay out in the sun & just want to cool off in the water. I never would see a shark. One summer my friend & I went to the beach & waves were kinda rough. We were in very shallow water but bc of the rough waves the sand was stirred up w no visibility. All of a sudden my friend is getting out of the water & told me a log rubbed against his leg & that he caught a glimpse of it being dark. I was just a cpl or 3ft from the shore as he was similar distance & there was no log as it would have washed up on the beach or bobbed in this shallow water! It was most definitely a shark & it had gotten caught up in the wave but went back out! Both of us sat down close to the waters edge in shock of what could have happened so quickly & unexpectedly! We didn’t want to believe what had just happened so obviously the first thing that came to mind was a log! My friend has very seldom gotten back in the water besides walking on the beach at the waters edge & neither have I. Yes, a very scary experience for both of us.

Love your content. My heart was racing from being scared watching this video at the end. Amazing photography. Great work trying to remove the stigma surrounding sharks. Hope you don't come across any accidents.
Having viewed many of the wonderful videos posted by The Malibu Artist on his amazing channel during the past couple of months, I would agree with you were your comments specifically related to Great White Sharks - which are clearly not the ravening man-eating monsters portrayed by the Jaws films; any more than Tigers are habitual predators of humans. As I'm sure you appreciate, however, there are cases - albeit undoubtedly rare in the scale of the numbers of occasions when, as in the case of this video, White Sharks find themselves in close proximity to humans - the sharks have actually eaten - not just taken a (potentially fatal) tentative bite out of - people. I can think of three cases of this occurring off the coast of Moreton Bay, South Australia, in 1986 / 7 (I was paying particular attention to Australia, back then, because I had just returned to to the UK after 2 1/2 years spent travelling 'Downunder'). There have also been several occasions on which White Sharks have taken bites out of Surf-skis and paddle boards of holidaymakers at beaches near Perth, WA (fortunately without damage being caused to the people involved); and also one case I can recall of a repeated - and fatal - attack on a man which occurred in very shallow water at a popular beach resort - possibly the same one which featured in the other incidents - which was witnessed by numerous holiday-makers, some of whom made heroic - if unsuccessful - attempts to save him. I think the moral to this particular story is that White Sharks need to be treated with the respect due to any wild animal which is - like a tiger, or a lion - a 'Top Predator', potentially well capable of including man in its 'prey list'. It does seem, however, that - like the two 'Big Cats' - Great Whites are not in the same league as estuarine crocodiles and polar bears which are known predators of Man. As for sharks which are known to pose a serious threat to humans, Tigers and Bull sharks are particularly dangerous, and the Oceanic White Tip shark is a particularly aggressive species which is known to have been responsible for mass attacks on humans who have been ship-wrecked (The W.W.2 U.S.N. Indianapolis incident, and the case of the wreck of H.M.S. Birkenhead off Natal in the nineteenth century). Best wishes!

Keep in mind that really big hooks are used for other really big fish, too; groupers, marlin, tuna, etc. And baits that attract those (large chunks of fish) could easily attract a great white. If a big shark gets hooked, there's often not much to do but cut the line.
hugely disrespectful and irresponsible to fish with that size hook and not be prepared to deal with it safely if a shark is hooked!!... "just cutting the line and leaving the hook hooked in a sharks mouth is a dick move and should never be ok!

Spooky 🦈 These encounters are common. Sharks are not the man eating beasts they are portrayed. Well at least great whites. I still wouldn't trust a bull or tiger
I don't know I've been around bulls alot and although I get out asap(kayaking) I've never had one charge me.....they just acted interested in me. I more scared of dolphins as I have witnessed them play with a yak in my group. They played with her for about 30 minutes pulling her in circles. Couldn't tell if they just liked playing with the boat or wanted to drown my friend. Thank God she didn't start beating them with her paddle she just terror screamed the who time. When I would paddle towards her they took her further out. I was convinced I was going to watch her die.
@@huemann7637 I've seen people on boats go along side marine animals to remove items from them. With sharks I imagine it would be harder but maybe use the same techniques as they do to tag sharks. Jim Abernathy removes hooks from sharks by swimming with them.
I've had three or four "close calls" with sharks while surfing in both California and Florida. In each case, the shark got within a foot or two of my board -- then abruptly made itself known by boiling the water as it whipped around its tail and made a beeline in the opposite direction. Which shows, of course, that these aren't really close calls at all (other than in the sense that the shark got pretty close before realizing its mistake.) As the video said, sharks want nothing to do with human beings and the rare time an "attack" does occur, it is almost always a case of mistaken identity, which is why shark bite victims usually only have one or two bites (if a white shark really wanted to target a human, there would be virtually nothing left of the person.) This is why most bites occur in the morning or evening -- when sharks are most likely to be feeding -- and under overcast skies, which often makes it difficult for sharks to distinguish between a dolphin or sea turtle and a human being. Unfortunately, white sharks' teeth are so big, so sharp and so numerous that a single bite can, and often is, fatal. Which is why I would never want my kids that close to a white shark, even though 99 times out of 100, they'd be perfectly safe.
Why put "attack" in quotation marks? "Attacks" are indeed attacks. What the hell else would you call it? I like and respect nature as much as the next person but let's not play silly games with serious matters unless you want to look like a total ideologue.
Never saw the kids turning their heads towards beach. They definitely were distracted by drone. Maybe install loudspeaker on drone for warning unaware swimmers.
Is following the same as chasing? Everytime I've heard of, seen or been involved in chasing. The object was to catch. I really don't think the people on paddle boards had any intention or thought of catching the shark. I'd even say they had no control over which way the shark went . Pretty sure the shark was just moving away or perhaps just going where it wanted. It's really perception isn't it? One person says I wanted to observe another says spying, chasing etc. Yet here we have footage of a person who chases from above the water and criticizes those on the water. Is there really that great of a difference. We presume the shark is unaware of the drone but has anyone asked the shark? Just some thoughts, a different perspective.

*Oh stop 🤦🤣… There are over 60 billion square feet of ocean in the world… let’s not act like a shark has to follow kids around. The shark could easily go anywhere else in the ocean. It would be the sharks fault*
Great video with fantastic footage. Some people nowadays just don't get it and think it's all abut them. If either of those paddle board rides had been attacked then they would have blamed the shark. Those kids had no idea just how lucky they were. That encounter could have been far more tragic for them. They were so fixated on your drone that they completely missed just how close that shark was to either of them. When one of the kids started kicking in the water he definitely got the sharks attention. It was the shark decided to do nothing and decided that outcome.
Not to take away from the discipline and hard work it takes to get a degree as a marine biologist but I'd consider you one in dedication alone. At the very least you are an ally to Marine Biologist. My father went to school for Marine Biology and ended up working with sonar of all things! He used to tell me about a greater Hammerhead they named George that they would dive with off the coast of NC. As a kid, I was lucky to have the dad that I did. He educated me a lot on sharks. When others were in fear I was hypnotized by their majestic presence. I was able to observe a thresher shark when I was a kid swimming. I can still remember it crystal clear even though is was 30+ years ago. Thank you for what you do.
Yes. I know the hook I mentioned and the photo I displayed are misidentified. It's just a simple editing mistake. I will own up to that. That doesn't take away from what you are seeing in the video. Also, please remember, this is a tagged shark with a known location in SHALLOW water. I can confidently say this is targeted shark fishing. What species of fish would a fisherman be trying to catch with a hook like that in the shallow sandy waters that this fish has been documented in (remember, it's tagged, so location data collected)? Also, I've had two locals witness a boat pull a white shark onto it's deck and take photos with a white shark. While that is a second hand account, I find it more likely these sharks are being targeted, given the less than ideal behavior I've shown in the video.
If it’s tagged, will they be able to locate it to remove the hook from its mouth? I can’t believe people could be so cruel as to leave something like that in an animal’s mouth knowing how much pain and discomfort it could cause.
@phil He mentioned that he was yelling at the kids and they were ignoring him. Even after he spoke to them they went right back into the ocean in the same area. You need to watch, and listen.
Hi there. Derek with EBU News in Geneva, Switzerland. Hope you are safe. I am currently working on a story and would really like to include your video. Is this your video? If so, may we have permission to use your video as per news-exchange.ebu.ch/clearance, please?
Fantastic footage and wonderful content, insightful and informative. Perhaps you're not a marine biologist, but you're doing a great job out there, helping both biologists, sharks and the general public. I also like your attitude towards independent research and verifying claims and sources. Thank you!
I personally think that it's like when there's someone we don't know in our house. Some are curious, some are scared and some are annoyed or angry at their presence. If you were casually strolling around your garden and a total stranger (therefore an intruder) showed up in front of you, I don't think it would be that comfortable. We just have to remember that if evolution didn't go the way it did, we would have never even entered the sea and sharks are prehistoric creatures that survived till today. As you said, they deserve our respect even if we're scared by them, I'm glad people that think like you exists ☺️
Thank you so much for all your efforts. Bringing awareness to people is what we really need at this point in time. I dive with all sharks and they are amazing. The Great White didn't cross my path yet . I even tried to take a hook out of a shark once. Well a Nurse Shark. And I did save a Baby Blue shark once so I am trying to explain that sharks are not monsters but it's really hard even to the people I know to accept that.

And it would be the fault of the boogie/paddle boaters not the shark but the shark would be blamed!

@@coenpull4214 How is it the drone's fault? The drone is there to warn people.
@@taskforceknight9336 Well, sure, I'm no expert at this, but it seems possible to me that the drone might give them a sense of security and/or incite them to show off their courage.

Over 7.5 million sharks are “finned” annually worldwide. Their fins are cut off when they’re alive and dumped back into the water to drown. Humans are the predator who does the most damage. Everywhere. No creature great or small is safe.

At the same time ppl need to understand that sharks can be very dangerous to humans if we are in their environment & give them respect ! Only professionals should be in the ocean w the sharks doing scientist observations & helping the sharks when they have fishing line & hooks in their mouth!

If I ever get attacked or eaten by a shark, I hope I can replay this music in my head during that time...
@AnnaLeighdeParis Well said!! That's exactly how I feel.

@@valentinballester3196 not true, I live in Australia and sharks sometimes eat surfers mistaken for seals.

A very different take, but I've been in the water on multiple occasions with dolphins in close proximity with swimmers/surfers trying to get closer to the animal by paddling towards them. My stance has always been to be thankful for the experience, instead of getting in their personal space. Being that this was a great white, which has an awful reputation given films such as Jaws and media outlets naming and shaming them for doing what a shark does in it's habitat, I am really disappointed in the paddleboarders for having chased it to the shallows - it's irresponsible and selfish. It's such a privilege to share this space with all animals of the ocean, let's not take advantage of it!
I agree I hate ppl harassing any animal. But I do not think there is a risk of the shark attacking in that case, they are not fighters they are opportunistic predators, They always swim away if you try to approach them concerned for their own safety

Since you are able to see these Sharks with hooks in their mouth and fishing line wrapped around them, I’s there anyone that would be willing to work with you in locating these sharks to help them?
Dude, such reckless kids. If I see a shark when I’m kayaking I might have a heart attack. I wonder if they saw the predator when they were on their boards.
They didn't care. They were told a shark was in the water and not to go back in. They went back in anyway

Very true. As an aside, one of my lifelong goals is to copulate with a female tiger shark.
I have a bad feeling that one day you’re going to come across an actual attack: I pray that never happens.
Always leaving me wanting more lol this is what people need to see. You're doing important work 💪
Is there "marine rescue" groups you can contact about the hooks/fishing lines/nets to have them removed? Your opening shot was so beautiful.
How would they do that?
@@huemann7637 I've seen people on boats go along side marine animals to remove items from them. With sharks I imagine it would be harder but maybe use the same techniques as they do to tag sharks. Jim Abernathy removes hooks from sharks by swimming with them.
I've had three or four "close calls" with sharks while surfing in both California and Florida. In each case, the shark got within a foot or two of my board -- then abruptly made itself known by boiling the water as it whipped around its tail and made a beeline in the opposite direction.
Which shows, of course, that these aren't really close calls at all (other than in the sense that the shark got pretty close before realizing its mistake.)
As the video said, sharks want nothing to do with human beings and the rare time an "attack" does occur, it is almost always a case of mistaken identity, which is why shark bite victims usually only have one or two bites (if a white shark really wanted to target a human, there would be virtually nothing left of the person.)
This is why most bites occur in the morning or evening -- when sharks are most likely to be feeding -- and under overcast skies, which often makes it difficult for sharks to distinguish between a dolphin or sea turtle and a human being.
Unfortunately, white sharks' teeth are so big, so sharp and so numerous that a single bite can, and often is, fatal. Which is why I would never want my kids that close to a white shark, even though 99 times out of 100, they'd be perfectly safe.

Never saw the kids turning their heads towards beach. They definitely were distracted by drone. Maybe install loudspeaker on drone for warning unaware swimmers.
As always, the quality of the footage is incredible. I could see how curious humans chasing a shark towards the shallows could create problems though.
It's a tactic you use when you spot a shark. You stay behind the shark. They're not chasing the shark
Your videos are incredibly eye-opening and I hope the world will come to understand and appreciate the beauty of these amazing creatures. They are not Monsters!

I find your efforts to provide footage and data for this amazing creature, admirable.
Many thanks!

Your footage and it’s subjects are so beautiful, thanks for sharing
Great Arial footage . The experts over many decades of research are still trying to work these creatures behavioural patterns out .
Wonder if the hook in it's mouth is the one used to catch and tag it? Stop the bull shit!

The thing about sharks is you never know when they are having a good day or a bad one so I'd personally rather avoid them and respect there territory
