- It has been a long time since my shark attack and there have been many interviews and documentaries on my double shark attack and how I survived it.
Now that I have my own RUclips channel I thought it would be good to do my own version. Here it is.

Am I the only one who thought he was attacked in the Arctic, and immediately felt confused that a great white was that far North lol. Great video, cannot believe how lucky you were! Those predators aren’t playing around. What a boss!
GWs have taken indigenous hunters in Greenland, who go out to hunt small whales in seal- skin kayaks, that sit really low in the water.
They already been in my home 🇧🇻.
Haha no you weren’t. The title might seem a bit misleading, but I have lived in the Arctic and some of my videos are arctic based so I tried including who i am and what happened in the same title. Take care.
@@noodles8638 really? So there are GWs in the arctic waters?
@@thetruth5791 Wow!
I’m not gonna lie, this story is absolutely insane. Being 100 meters out from shore and coming face to face with a great white shark??? Just coming face to face with a GW is enough to give most people PTSD for the rest of their lives and that’s without even getting attacked. Not only did you get attacked while having a deep cut bleeding profusely in the water, and not only did you get attacked by a fairly large GW, YOU GOT ATTACKED BY TWO??? Dude, I would’ve had a massive heart attack if I were in your shoes. God truly blessed you to tell this tale!! I feel like 99% of other people would’ve been eaten.
Haha thanks Yoni. It is a miracle I am alive and am very thankful for it. Have a good day and take care.
Wow that was great footage. You are so lucky to be alive, but has this put you off ever surfing again?
Absolutely, this was God at work and its the most beautiful feeling ive ever felt in my experiences also. This guy was truly blessed and i hope he never forgets it

Well told story - a surfers worst nightmare for sure . I’m seldom alone surfing here in California but on those rare occasions when I am thinking about sharks can really give me the creeps
Thanks. And yes there are a couple of sharks in California and can be a bit creepy 😅

One shark attack is bad enough, but two at pretty much the same time is insane odds, am pleased you made it out, thats an insane experience, I saw some commentary on this that suggested the other attacking shark may have inadvertently saved you from the first, either that or it was a coordinated attack, no matter which that was an awful, insane attack, but you survived and thank you so much for telling your story.
Thanks for sharing. Yes there are different theories of what might have happened. Either a coordinated attack or the one missed me because the other got me first. Either way, I’m fortunate to be alive 🙏
@@shannonainsliesurf A coordinated attack between great whites is a terrifying thought lol.

I remember this being all over tv, back in the day! From what I remember, that second shark ended up being your savior, if I’m not mistaken. What a crazy experience! Sick, that your outlook on life is so positive, after being so close to death.
There are several theories, and that’s one of them 😊 Glad I survived 😊 Have a good day and weekend.
@@shannonainsliesurf Do you still surf ?
@@laurentcambon Yes I do. Would you?
@@shannonainsliesurf No, I don’t think it only happens to others.
@@shannonainsliesurf I have had some shark encounters that were scary, not attacks, and it took me a second to shake that off. im a pretty dedicated surfer and in all honesty I don't know if I could get back out there after that. it would take some time and I feel like any shadow out there would have me tweaking big time. big balls you carry.
Thanks for sharing such a scary attack. It's great something positive happened for you as an after effect. Your a brave man. Still surfing! Cheers!
Thanks Tracy. Have a good day.
I love how people always say the shark was just mistaken and they really don't want to eat you. That's little comfort when a chunk is missing out of your side and your bleeding to death in the ocean. At least the shark realized it's mistake.
Well actually sharks do eat people. They just don’t eat the surfboard. So when they taste the board they spit the surfer out, but people have been eaten while swimming, diving etc.
Tell that to Cameron Robbins.
Mistaken identity is BS
@@shannonainsliesurf Sharks do eat people especially Bull sharks. Most are worried about great whites but they aren't traditionally man eaters. Bulls and blues will eat a person immediately. Other big sharks often confuse us for something else. If great whites or most large dangerous sharks actually actively hunted humans no beaches would ever be safe. EVER.

Most shark attacks are based on curiosity. Sharks bite to test if we're edible. Most deaths come from blood loss and drowning. Most importantly, you survived and got your hands intact. These are predators that we need to respect. The water is not our primary environment.
Agreed 👍 well said 🙌
this is false. Several attack the shark.comes back, and many have been eaten alive
@@jemmysmith8661 true.. many have been eaten alive
I think both can be true. The GWS in particular probably does both, people on boards look like seals. The shark fully intended to eat you, but upon having a taste found you not to be fatty enough. The board probably didn’t have a nice texture either.
So yeah some sharks probably test nibble, some try to eat you and figure you’re not very appetising.
@@Nubloot i agree that i depends on the type of shark. Some are potentially dangerous, and some are considered dangerous. Most are not maneaters per se. In most cases it’s about wrong place at the wrong time. Sharks just do what sharks are supposed to do. They’re not bad creatures per se.
1. The shark gave him a great gift, as he wisely acknowledges at the end. 2. Although his reaction was of course understandable, there was nothing to fear from the shark after the initial (exploratory) strike was over. If the shark considered him prey, he would not have made it another 10 meters. 3. Fear of sharks is based in anthropocentric ego. If sharks viewed people as prey, humans simply would not be able to surf or swim in the ocean - ever. They are always there, they are brutally efficient hunters, and we are helpless in their element.
Thanks for your comment
So your conclusion watching this is: sharks are safe and if you think otherwise it’s just your ego.🤔 what Universities did you learn this in?
i know of 4 people on this Hawaiian island who are missing limbs from shark bite). All were surfing when the shark took a sample taste.

Didn't know about the birds....do you know why? Yesterday I surfed and I saw few of them doing that
Now you know. It is not guaranteed that there are sharks there, but the birds dive for fish, and usually there are bigger fish after other fish…
I have seen this video circulating around the net. I am very happy to see that the survivor actually came out and told the whole story from his perspective so a lot of assumptions and guessing can be put aside and all can find out what really happened. You got second life my friend. God bless you.
Thanks for your feedback. God protected me and gave me a second chance for sure. Stay blessed too.
Damn! Both were confused! Lol
Haha probably!
@shannonainsliesurf that's what he said he said they were both looking at each other confused
Why the shark rammed him after that.
He rammed him was like nope not what I'm looking for.

He’s lucky to have survived childhood if his father left him and his brother on the beach for 12 hours at a time.
My dad was the best ever! Without him I would never be a surfer and would never have met all those other cool surfers at the beach during those hours. I would do it all over again :)
If it weren't for your dad installing those early Karate classes you probably wouldn't have made it. You were a fighter from early on. That's probably because you had a real earthly father in your life. All Glory be to the lord!

I remember seeing your attack on Surfline years ago. Way to go on surfing with your life! Peace, brotha!
Thank you. Keep well.
I remember learning in school that surfers can look like seals or turtles on their board. You are so lucky and so blessed ❤
Yes that’s true :)
@shannonainsliesurf keep doing what you do though! Sharks can be scary and I'm sure that experience has made you think twice but don't let it stop you from doing something you love 😊

Ya see the difference if your dad dropped you off at a California beach, you would have sold the board and bought some weed and your dad would have picked you up at the police station.

I'm from East London, where Nahoon Reef is, and spent a lot of time at Nahoon Beach growing up. Surfed the beach break a good number of times but I've always been too fearful to even paddle near the reef. Beautiful piece of coastline though, grateful to have grown up there.

Glad you are doing well! Thx for sharing your story! Those sharks swam away doubting themselves: Shark 1 “Am I crazy? He totally looked like a seal-until I bit him!”
Shark 2 “Thank god you made me miss him! Was it…Was it gross-I mean, the flavor?”
Shark 1 shudders “In the moment I was so shocked, I didn’t taste anything. Only now am I starting to notice the flavor. Actually, the worst thing was his eyes, just looking into mine-like he was trying to make a point. And he didn’t even get his teeth out! He just looked at me… I mean, he did look like a seal, right?”
Shark 2 “I thought so.”
Haha we should make a funny animation with those comments!
