New question for the reupload: What’s your favorite casino in the Fallout universe? Thanks for all the support btw, the comments especially have been great.
Well, 1. I’m so sorry RUclips decided to be gross with copyright 2. Definitely the sierra madre. Feels like we see so much and yet so little to me. Plenty of diverse locations just within the casino alone, and all the secrecy within the vault is so… perfect
The only thing that comes close to the Sierra Madre for me is the Ultraluxe. Aside from Beyond the Beef being appropriately macabre for Fallout in a vacuum, the idea of a group of recently civilized tribals grappling with letting go of their old ways or regressing back into them fits perfectly with the overarching themes of the game.
@pasta1549 I think it was actually the music owner. They had the music labeled as non copyright, then proceeded to claim the video after it hit a couple thousand views... And yea, the Madre is hard to top because no other Casino has a Villa extension to it along with a Vault. So much mystery around it.
@ColinAYB I love that aspect of the New Vegas where the Casino families have tribal pasts. They keep a bit of their identity hidden in the backrooms, quite literally with the Ultra Luxe
@@nvRanger Exactly. The other families on the strip keep their tribal knowledge and attitudes in their back pockets as tools for when things go wrong, whereas the White Glove Society's old ways are a monster they're trying to contain for everybody's sake. Mortimer's plan is cannibalistic on every level; not only does it involve physically consuming a human being, but it comes at the cost of metaphorically cannibalizing their new business and way of life by violently severing ties with one of the region's largest food suppliers. It can't be stressed enough how well written they were.
"Let go"...Screw that. I took it, took it ALL. EVERY gold bar, every weapon, every piece of ammo, sealed Elijah to his doom.. Sure it was A waaaalkk to get to storage but I didn't let go of...nuthin.
@@hitori_one7201 To tell the truth the first time I did it, I did THE WALK, second time, duhh there's a chest in the bunker you can use. After that it's MANY a fast travel.
Why walk, when borderline magical smart house in the Sink exists? Last time I completed Dead Money, I, too, took every single thing out, and left one revolver and one bullet. What else I wish was possible to do, is wreck anything else left there (I seem to remember that there should be enough supplies to last a single person years, if not decades). Imagine Elijah entering, seeing a basically empty vault, with everything either stolen or destroyed, and a revolver with a single bullet taunting him from the central table. And then, door seals, and Elijah realises he was outplayed by a mailman with brain damage. Letting go? Yeah, I let Elijah go in, and then let go of the hell he put me and others through. I think it's enough letting go for one time, so I'll be taking the gold, thank you.
I came to appreciate the story of Dead Money the second time i played it in my most recent playthrough. Such an unassuming name, so much pain and death, all in the end for nothing. Left my heart in the Sierra Madre.
Some of the interiors make me think of the hotel in The shining though the place is plenty spooky enough without an axe wielding caretaker around as well.
Thanks 🙏 unfortunately I definitely do not have time to make longer videos than I am now and remain somewhat consistent. In the future tho we’ll get there.
Oh, I didn’t realize. It’s entirely a Gatsby analogue. It’s Post apocalypse Gatsby. 20s inspired aristocrat can’t let go of a woman. Huh. Didn’t catch that when I played it.
@@nvRanger For example at 7:19 you've hsown both the mosaic of Dean and an art piece of him. As I said, it deosn't affect the quality of the video (which you've dene i great job btw), just interesting
i realllyyy gotta hear your take on the fallout show. i think the writing was awful, and that only the surface level details have any respect for fo1 2 and nv. i had fun watching it, but they truly destroyed a lot of the characters and misunderstood so much about the actually good games. i mean, todd howard, the king of lying, literally convinced everyone that they actually didnt make a timeline mistake with the bomb in shady sands, even though in the post credits of that episode it confirms that it happened in 2277. it also just annihilates and character assassinated mr house and especially sinclair, implying that theyre both incredibly evil and sadistic and somehow knew that vault tec could have been responsible for the bombs. i have more to say, but for the purpose of a comment, ill stop here. id really love to hear your takes in a vid, since you seem to have more respect for nv and the classic games than almost anyone.
I love how in the show he's revealed to be a completely different looking individual than the romanticized paintings depicted him as, and being the butt of Mister House's jokes no doubt made his already paranoid mind even more wounded. It just adds to the multiple lies that the whole story has.
@@nvRangerI was just postulating this myself, from the show creation angle. But it would also be funny if Sinclair used photos from when he was a young man to decorate the Madre, rather than the man he currently was.
It always surprising to see the lengths that fans will go to in order to resolve "canon" when it's pretty clear the true explanation is that the show and Dead Money are completely different stories made with no self-awareness of each other. There are no clues to the latter in the former. Sinclair was just a name the script could use because they owned the rights to it. Something Chris Avellone, the writer and director of DM, has publicly expressed in their Fallout Apocrypha review of the show.

Frederick Sinclair is literally what Mr House would be if he had a heart and not such an arrogant aristocrat.
They are very similar, but the minor differences take them miles apart.
Its always a shame when copyright issues prevent a creator from expressing his/her vision for a project. Look forward to more content!
Thanks for coming back around and leaving a comment. All part of the learning process.
Unfortunately the video had to be reuploaded due to some copyright issues \ :

You outdid yourself on this one. Keep ‘em coming brother you are gonna blow up big making quality videos like this
Awesome of you to say. Thanks man. 🙏
The videos you make are a love letter to Fallout... thank you.
Kind words, thank you as well.

Great comparison, hadn’t considered that.
Love the videos man! Lucky 38 is always interesting to me though it's never opened until the courier strolls in
There’s definitely some mysteries behind those walls. Appreciate the support.
Quite interesting that courier has entered and left 2 casinos that no one else alive during their time had ever done
Got some real main character energy about him
I can’t stale how good your videos are. Keep going and I can’t wait to see what you got next.
awesome of you to say, thank you
The voice memo's gives me a bioshock vibe, like hearing how they got trapped offsets me but in a good way lol, anyways love ur vids
might of added to the vibe given I was using Bioshock music, but I agree. Fallout and Bioshock share many themes.
Thanks for the kind words.
hot damn im so glad to have another actually good fallout youtuber, long form vids would go crazy!
Thanks 🙏 unfortunately I definitely do not have time to make longer videos than I am now and remain somewhat consistent. In the future tho we’ll get there.
Great video! I’ve been playing through NV again, getting ready to start this DLC.
Appreciate that! Hope this provides a good setup as you start the expansion.
Amazing content as always
Appreciate that
I like to think the resort is in the actual Sierra Madre.

Not super familiar but that’s an interesting analysis.
Cant stop me from liking the video a second time
Big ups, thank you. 🙏
Banger of a video
Thanks 🙏
The video is great and well-made, but the paintings of sinclair shown are dean domino. Just thought id let you know
Appreciate it. Can you time stamp the moment because I was talking about both of them throughout the video.

The mosaic is definitely Sinclair. It’s on the walls in the lobby of the Sierra Madre holding the hand of Vera Keyes.
Hey its back

It’s an interesting situation and I’m curious what the show has planned for him. My theory is they changed his look to distinguish him from House.
