In that same TV show you had Bill Bixby who played David Banner for some reason in the TV show. They named him David instead of Bruce. However, in the movie, he also gets a cameo. He’s on the TV when Edward Norton is working on a cure watching television with Sesame Street and an episode of the courtship of Eddie‘s father. Most people don’t know it, but both the Hulk and banner made cameo appearances.
Also the guy that Bruce banner shared the pizza with in the computer lab with the glasses? Was the same guy who was the teacher in the mcu spider-Man trilogy
When Norton is watching tv in the beginning, the guy getting punched/slapped by the kid was the original Banner (Bill Bixby) from the tv show. And yes, that security guard (Lou Ferrigno) was The Hulk from the same show and is the voice of the movie Hulk. In fact, the opening credits for this movie copy the tv show set really closely, showing his scientist-testing-origins. And while I love this Hulk so much, I often got jealous of his marvellous hair. It was a missed opportunity for Marvel to not come out with Hulk brand hair conditioner 😂
They literally replicated the opening title sequence of that series shot for shot including the outfit Bruce was wearing and the machine were taken right out of that series. I love that they incorporated a clip from an episode as well. The end credits theme from that series, "The Lonely Man Theme" also plays during a scene in this movie as well(it's shortly after the scene where Bruce holds up the pants to the woman's rear end). There's also a double reference in the college campus scene. The school is Culver University, where Banner was originally employed (and became the Hulk) in the series. The second is one of the journalism students that was interviewed was named Jack McGee, who was the reporter that followed Banner/Hulk from town to town. This movie was a huge love letter and tribute to that series, and very well done one at that.

So, consistently, throughout the Hulk comics, Betty was always the one person that could calm the Hulk down out of his rage.Even in the midst of his greatest rages, she could reach him and coax Bruce back. Conversely, whenever Betty was endangered or hurt was when the Hulk's most unstoppable rages occured. Bith Bruck and the Hulk loved her and would do anything to protect her.
That 3rd transformation always gets me with how painful it is for Bruce Banner to transform into Hulk. Also, one of Hulk's abilities is that he draws more strength from his anger. The angrier he gets, the more powerful he becomes. It shows that Hulk can bench-press a tank without breaking a sweat, but his strength is virtually limitless. To answer any questions, Bruce Banner's grasp over Hulk depends on HOW he transforms. If it happens voluntarily, Hulk has more of an ability to reason and comprehend things. But if it happens through uncontrollable stimuli like anger, Hulk is the living equivalent of a wrecking ball. And Hulk is the embodiment of Bruce's trauma and resentment caused by his abusive father when he was a kid.
Stan Lee doesn't have a cameo in this film, but the nice pizza place is named "Stanley's Pizza". I grew up in New York City. There were some centralized coal plants that piped steam to large buildings to warm them in winter. But most apartment buildings had oil furnaces that circulated hot water to radiators in each apartment. The Hulk vs Abomination fight took place on 125th street in Manhattan, in the Harlem neighborhood. The famous Apollo theater on that street is visible during the fight. The City's main water supply comes from rivers north (upstate), to tunnels bored deep into the bedrock, then up to the buildings. This is entirely gravity-fed. For buildings taller than the natural height the water rises to, they have to pump it to a storage tank on the roof of the building. The city skyline has many of these big rooftop tanks.

But his true origin is in the comic books. He was in a Gamma Bomb explosion at a rocket site where a enemy agent was disguised as a fellow scientist detonated the devise while Banner was trying to save a young man named Rick Jones. MCU and Hollywood didn't do it right
Men is Black is Marvel Comics as well and so does BIG HERO 6. Marvel Comics (Timely Comics) was not just Superhero comics, it has other comics too, just like DC Comica was originally Detective Comics also had other stuff other than just superhero comics. So yes Men in Black and Big Hero 6 are based on Marvel Comics.

Great reaction loved it. Just a clue you in American houses are not better than what you have in Scotland and the rest of the UK. They’re bigger flashier and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. But build value no.. your home could be passed onto your kids, your grandkids, and even your great grandkids. I have family all over the UK and Ireland and I’ve lived there for a great many years before I am a graded to Canada. I am a bricklayer, so I do build houses the vast majority of the houses built in North America are timber framed with wood chip board for the wall covered with plastic siding. These houses have a lifespan of about 60 years. In fact you replace the roof on a North American house about every 20 to 25 years. Never had to do that back in Ireland. My great uncle Hodges house had natural slate roof and his cottage was over 600 years old. You won’t see anything like that in North America. Build quality on most North American homes is not great. You do have some people that will build in brick block and stone and use the same materials we use at home but they usually day extremely rich and wealthy people day every day person build quality on their home is pretty pathetic. There’s a town north of me known as Fort McMurray, and they had a forest fire and a large portion of the town was wiped out due to the way they build homes if that happened in Scotland with brick block and stone, there be smoke damage and scoring, but most people could move back into their home is relatively quickly over here. There was no home left it burnt and melted down in minutes. So as I stated, the homes look great, but it’s all flash with no substance..
You're right about the security guard, he's Lou Ferrigno, a former Bodybuilder and contemporary of Arnie, and yes, they did used to paint him green as The Incredible Hulk in the TV series.
2003 Hulk movie is not a prequel but you still should watch it due to it providing details an insight into Dr banner's character. Like the fact that the 2003 Dr banner and the 2008 Dr banner accidents occurred at the same time in 2003 which also means which also means the MCU Dr banner has been on the run ever since until the events of this movie in 2008 and the reason he could remain on the run because despite him being a famous scientists Bruce normally avoided the spotlight unlike certain billionaires. Bruce and the hulk are separate identities with the hulk being a creation of Bruce's trauma. The MCU origins claims he was a failed super soldier project when in fact he is a force of nature with an endless supply of energy and power that is driven from his rage. Which means the anger he gets the stronger the hulk and is his anger goes unchecked he could potentially destroy cities with the stump of his feet. If you're curious on what happened to Leonard Stern there is a Canon comic book to the MCU show me the character being arrested by a S.H.I.L.D agent called Black widow.
This is a definite love-letter to the original TV show. The Bill Bixby clip, Lou Ferrigno playing a security guard (again), the Lonely Man piano medley, the red 'Danger' in the beginning calling back to the opening of the original TV show, Banner showing his green eyes before he transforms, the student that filmed the Hulk fighting was named Jack McGee after the reporter that chased the Hulk in the TV show, and Culver University referencing the Culver Institute where Dr. Banner first worked in the TV show, and the "don't make me hungry" is a funny nod to "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry". I grew up watching the show as a kid so I really liked this movie.
(At 52:11) You want to know what's funny? while the military been shooting at him continuously and Hulk has been attacking them. He did not "kill" anyone. He just been scared them off, while damaging their equipment and all.
The 2003 Hulk movie is NOT a prequel to this. That Hulk movie was made by Universal. In the 90s Marvel Comics went bankrupt so they had to sell the movie rights to a bunch of studios in order to stay afloat. Spider-Man to Sony, X-Men, Fantastic 4, Daredevil, Ghost Rider to Fox, and Hulk to Universal. The 2003 movie tried a new spin on the Hulk Mythos where his dad experimented on him, & the gamma radiation accident released what was already inside. That movie didn't do well, as it was more drama than action movie, being that it was filmed by Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Director, Ang Lee. In 2006, as they were back on solid Financial ground, as Marvel comics were in a new Golden Age of storytelling, Marvel took out a loan and decided to make their own movies with the characters they had left. And the biggest characters they had left were the Hulk & Avengers characters, like Iron-Man, Thor, etc. Universal didn't want to spend their own money to make another Hulk Film, and Told Marvel they'd be okay with just distributing it to theaters. (Which gives them less money, since they didn't produce the film) Most of the Marvel movie contracts said that the studios had to at least have a movie in production every 5 years, or the character's movie rights went back to Marvel. That's why Sony keeps making Spider-Man movies, Even movies with Spider-Man villains/anti heroes like Morbius, Venom, and the new Kraven The Hunter. And Fox made that last really bad Fantastic 4 movie with Miles Teller (based on the Ultimates version of the character). Fox didn't make a new Daredevil movie after 2003, thus the rights went back to Marvel, and that's why Marvel was able to make a Daredevil TV show on Netflix. Universal's movie contract with Hulk is a bit different though. They own the movie copyright on the Hulk movie name, so if Marvel decides to make another Hulk movie, they have to pay Universal to put Hulk in the title, & it's why they haven't made another Hulk movie. Beyond this movie making the same amount at the box office that the 2003 Universal movie made, which was not a hit. Though it didn't lose money. But this movie is considered way better. Last, the intro of this movie, isn't a reference to the 2003 movie, no it's a reference to the 1970s-80s Incredible Hulk TV show, which after the 1st episode, showed the story of the accident and him becoming the Hulk, in the title credits. Marvel thought this was cool, because not only is it nostalgic for the TV show which was a big hit, but people had just seen an origin story 5 years ago in 2003, so no need. And if you didn't know, Disney bought Marvel in 2011, and in 2020, bought the 2Oth Century Fox movie catalog, so they got the movie rights back for the characters Fox had, like the X-Men. That's why the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie is a Disney movie (Deadpool & Wolverine are X-Men characters) and the old ones were fox movies. And now they can be seen with the other Marvel characters. The only characters Disney/Marvel doesn't have full control of now are the Spider-Man characters, so they have to make a deal with Sony to put the newest Spider-Man, Tom Holland, in the Avengers films. So again, 2003 Hulk has absolutely nothing to do with this film.
I'm with Suzy. There are elements of Hulk that are just pure and relatable. Iron Man is not relatable to most people. Its fantasy but his ego gets in the way. Bruce is a good soul so "The Flawed Hero" works much better with him.

And basicly everyone who did the movie felt he was an anoying piece of shit and he tried to change the scrypt 24/7. But his true origin is in the comic books. He was in a Gamma Bomb explosion at a rocket site where a enemy agent was disguised as a fellow scientist detonated the devise while Banner was trying to save a young man named Rick Jones. MCU and Hollywood didn't do it right
(At 1:14:54) Can't wait to see what HE looks like next year, in _Captain America: Brave New World_
1:14:56 He becomes The Leader, one of Hulk's archnemesis.
So says the Leader :)
I wonder what it would be like if someone at Marvel came up with a Captain Scotland?
(At 1:24:19) What nuts? Abomination doesn't have ANY JUNK to be whipping out, since he's been "streaking" before this fight started.
That final scene is full of continuity errors I can't spoil here but get to Avengers and Chang Shi and I promise to come back and whine like a school girl.
Didn't Edward Norton DO something with a director that he got fired from the MCU and was then later "replaced" with Mark Ruffalo?
(At 1:19:30) If it hadn't worked, he wouldn't have made it DEEP through the asphalt.
THIS IS DEFINITELY THE STRONGEST AND THE MOST AGGRESSIVE OF ALL THE HULKS!! DEFINITELY THE GREATEST HULK EVER!!💪👏🙌🙏👍🎉
Sadly not Strongest. Professor Hulk can literally launch a gigantic boulder into orbit. It happened in She Hulk.
I’m terms of live action yes
Her laughing is soo.. cute. 🥰❤
(At 1:29:27) How did y'all NOT know "Betty" was a nickname for "Elizabeth?"
An underappreciated movie for far too long. I loved it from the day I saw it in theatre. This is perfect Banner and Hulk.
You're right about the security guard, he's Lou Ferrigno, a former Bodybuilder and contemporary of Arnie, and yes, they did used to paint him green as The Incredible Hulk in the TV series.
If you love Liv Tyler, you need to se "Empire records".
33:00 Tim Roth's character was an officer of the UK's Royal Marines Commandos on loan to the US military.
such underrated movie, def top 10 marvel movies
There isn’t a prequel, but the sequence at the beginning were he first becomes the Hulk is out of the TV series with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrino
His sassy ass remarks kill me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best hulk ever
Killer Croc is a DC villain. Not a marvel character
1:05:20 is from a movie in 1969 called Midnight Cowboy. Starring Dustin Hoffman
(At 1:26:02) What "roof"? They're on the ground.
(At 1:25:10) That DIDN'T hurt.
(At 1:25:16) That however DID hurt.
Peter Parker's teacher's in this movie
42:45 It was 5 months since the last "incident" when they lost track of him, not 5 months from the accident that made him the Hulk.
The best HULK I've ever seen in live action... a true MENACE like his name
I actually busted out laughing when suzy mentioned american houses are nice and cheap
(At 52:11) You want to know what's funny? while the military been shooting at him continuously and Hulk has been attacking them. He did not "kill" anyone. He just been scared them off, while damaging their equipment and all.
This hulk is one of the best imo and also i cant wait for them to get to the winter soldier
I think suzy is going to love lord of the rings trilogy for sure.
Bruce is a good soul so "The Flawed Hero" works much better with him.
there was a HULK movie released a few years BEFORE this that isn't connected to the MCU, and I think that Suzy and Steejo would have very cute and VERY Scottish babies
Suzy is Scottish? I was think so, cause her accent is so similar to Carson Beckett :)
Also the heating in New York is from the boilers, there is no steam underground. The boilers create the steam and go through radiators
Timestamp to watch the intro: 00:00
"Male period"?!!? 😆🤣🤣🤣 Suzy, you are hilarious!
I love this Hulk movie!
12:15 This grosses me out so much, how can people do that?!
48:28 I've heard people say how the 3rd transformation is so agonizing and, while I agree, I also feel like what little we see of the 2nd transformation is just as painful.
(At 1:06:05) He's probably going to be The 21th smartest person in Marvel out of the 25. Bruce Banner is probably at #6.
The security guard, Lou Ferigno played the original hulk in the TV series
(At 53:27) except maybe them.
Fun Fact: Betty's boyfriend becomes a realtor called Phil Dunphy with a Modern Family
His first name is agent.
"Hulk" was used to describe a character in "the Great Gatsby".
(At 1:16:07) technically, this is Manhattan.
(At 48:45) You're basically describing someone who is a combination of an ogre, who is Mr. Edward Hyde, that fused with Frankenstein's monster… who's been misunderstood.
This is my Hulk.
1:24:28 in this scene you can see one of the most broken abilities of the Hulk, I don't know if you noticed but Hulk's eyes started to shine that's when he gets angry and that's Hulk's best power the angrier he gets the stronger he gets, that's why he was able to get rid of Abomination
the martial arts gut doing the stomach thing is Royce Gracie is a Brazilian retired professional mixed martial artist master of Brazilian jiu-jitsu a real fighter Suzy he grows in size the watcch broke off when his wrist grew notice his clothes get torn apart. is mr. hulk 2 green as well Steejo? lol be cause it is Lou ferrigno on tv. I'm walking here is from Midnight Cowboy
I hate it when she told Hulk to stop😂 I’m like girl why
Everyone totally became mad
You know what, why take a Marvel journey without the Blade trilogy or Ghost Rider. Those are good watches. And the first 2 Hellboy movies are good too (just comic book movies there, separate from Marvel or DC).
The actor who was in the tv show at the beginning bruce had on actually played bruce banner in the old incredible hulk tv show from the 70s his name was bill bixby and the security guard played the hulk from the same show. His name is lou ferrigno
Most of the time I'm annoyed when they don't use characters' comic book names ...
But "The Leader" is a f***ing stupid name, so I'll give them a pass.
So says the Leader :)
The first hulk wasn't part is the MCU but this is and this is the same hulk in the mcu
This movie isn't connected to the 2003 Hulk in the slightest. The beginning opening of this movie literally retcons the entire 2003 movie. Spiritual sequel is not the same as a regular sequel.
The sexy woman that works in the factory at the beginning of the movie, plays Cleopatra 1999 you 2 should watch that movie its awesome and well made.
Incase no one said it. The reason they changed it was becouse Edward Norton was VERY hard to work with!! And basicly everyone who did the movie felt he was an anoying piece of shit and he tried to change the scrypt 24/7. Witch marvel wasen't having when it came to Avengers so they just let him go and hired Mark like 1-day before Comic con
Best Hulk! Hulk Smash!
Rogers to Hulk: "And Hulk... Smash!" :D
"It's just a tranquilizer." Sure, a tranquilizer dosed to put down an adult human.
No so there was a planned sequel for that hulk movie meant for may 2005 BUT it got cancelled and REPURPOSED for the hulk reboot. There’s no connection between the 2003 and 2008, they just did a speed run of his origin because we literally just saw it 5 years earlier
1:25:54 this "stop" was really unexpected and I never understood the necessity of it.
26:35 If you're big, it takes longer for signals to travel from your brain to your muscles and back. So bigger creatures have slower reaction time and are clumsier.
Yeah, electricity is known to be very slow...- Steejo
Thor is before captain America
Both actors who were in TV show The Incredible Hulk appear in this movie. You were right about the body builder playing the TV Hulk. That was Lou Ferrigno. The other was a cameo of Bill Bixby who played Banner was the guy with the son named Eddie on TV. That clip was from The Courtship of Eddie's Father.
I was just going to mention that... I miss those old shows :/
if you love this i recommend watching planet hulk
1:25:33 To be honest though, he should've gone for the head...
Don’t forget to include the Stan Lee cameos and 2 post credit scenes with all the MCU movies
Hi Suzi!! I'm Brazilian and the language they speak at the beginning is not Portuguese, but Spanish. At the time we were angry because they didn't put Brazilians to act, it would have made more sense wouldn't it?!
Definitely my favorite Hulk movie. You and Suzy should watch the MonsterVerse, Shin Godzilla, and Godzilla Minus One.
*Actually the first Hulk movie, not like Marvel we know, was in 2003...not 2018*
