Genuinely I dont understand the hate for this game, I've been playing Star Wars games since the mid 90's and this game isn't bad at all. Yeah the stealth can be clunky at times and AI can be dumb. The game is PEGI 12. Kids are supposed to be able to play it. I love the maps, I love exploring and enjoyed the story. For those saying "Why are they forcing the rebels into it". All rogue characters -> Dash Rendar, Kyle Katarn, Mara Jade, Starkiller? They all helped/joined the rebellion? X wing Alliance? joined the rebellion. Only actual Faction games like Tie Fighter where you were literally a soldier in the Empire did you stay put. Any "Rogue" always ended up in the Rebellion. Bounty Hunter is a grey area. The only game where they advertised a faction character that rather clunkily joined the rebellion was Battlefront 2 with Iden Versio. I can guarantee the majority of people who hate on this game, have never played it.
@@keeperofnecronomicon That isn't true. I for one, have loved the Star Wars franchise and its games since the '90s and hate Disney Star Wars (for not staying true to the lore) and the fact that Disney has been overusing the "female protagonist", and male-hating b**** for all its movies. But even so, I still bought and played the Ultimate Edition for this game. It's something different compared to how EA Studio has been making Star Wars games since the beginning. No lightsabers, no force powers, no faction, no Jedi, no Sith. Just gun and ship and travel around the galaxy. Somewhat refreshing to play such a game in the Star Wars Universe.

I would love to have a modern star wars games not focused on rebels. We have too many games about rebellion, while we don't have any about empire (despite battlefront 2 campaign where at first we are on empire side, but then again we are fighting alongside with rebels). Empire at war is the only game i know where you can play as empire, but it's old and it's a strategy game.
@@shadowstar37 yeah that's what i meant. Ofc, it would be difficult because empire lost, so the player would loose too, but it would be something new in the star wars franchise games. For me it would be nice to see someone who fought for the empire until it's end. It would also be nice if there was also a game based on the legends, in that case, playing as someone from empire would end on, for example, fall of empire and it's retreat to Bastion as remnants, and birth of Fel Empire.
... if someone can just stop their ship under your giant space destroyer ship and shoot its weakness with impunity, you probably should rethink its defenses more....
Unfortunately since this is a game with simplified combat rules and a loose grasp on realism, we'll never see a proper space battle. @@nickm1242 it fucking hurts especially when you go over the actual specs and lore of star destroyers and remember that: they are considered *one of the most heavily armored warships ever created, even for a frontline battleship class vessel* star destroyers are considered in the star wars universe to boast *an incredible amount of firepower and impressive array of weapons, even more than other ships of it's class normally would have* star destroyers also have powerful shield generators that would take *an incredible amount of firepower* to break through. this star destroyer not only would have shrugged off every attempt to hurt it, if a few turbolasers so much as grazed their ship they'd be turned into a fine debris field of spaceship parts. and of course, we can't forget about a star destroyers vast tie fighter compliment. even if lacking quality, they have the quantity.
This also is likely on the easiest difficulty. I played on the 2nd hardest, and the arena is STUFFED with TIE Fighters, forcing you to dodge turbolasers and and thin out the herds first. Also, earlier in the story, they point out that the EML-850 is designed to take several hits, so it surviving a couple grazing shots from turbolasers makes sense to me.
