I dont know this man personally but I can tell you that he seems to be a genuine kind and caring human being that has seen the depths of hell both professionaly and personally. The eyes never lie and you can see that there has been some very dark times and never ending battles but he has been able to overcome alot of those battles and continues to fight the others. It is because of this man and many like he and his guests that allow us the freedom and ability to live our lives freely and give us the ability to live the way we want to as a free society. The men and women in all branches of our service have given so much from there own families, threre mental health and ultimately there lives. We as a free society owe these men and women alot of gratitude and I will teach my son as I always have to respect everyone I mean every single human being but specifically are military members because that is the least we can do. As cliche as it may sound we are free because of these men and women as I can assure the day that they are not willing to sacrifice themselves and there own well being then we are no longer a free society and our enemies will take advantage of that. We are blessed that there are men and women that will not quit becasue it is not the way they are made so no freedom is not free because they pay the debt for all of us. Good men sometimes have to do bad things to bad people to secure our nations safety and freedom, and that is what you can see in this mans eyes are the battles and fights he has and continues to deal with on a daily basis. I would like to say thank you for all of the sacrifices you, your family and your brothers in arms have made for us. Thank you for giving us the Vigilance Elite channel and the Shawn Ryan show to the world which has allowed many people to gain insight into your life, the resources to help and save alot of people, opportunities for training and just alot of knowledge. It is very humbling to hear you and your guests talk about your experiences whcih I am sure can be very difficult to talk about at times so thank you from all of us. Much respect from Cincinnati Ohio to you Sir and as always I look forward to more content you have done a amazing job with all of this.

I hate bullying. I went through it throughout my childhood, due to changing schools often and being the new kid. I fought, but I didn't have any support from home. I had no father to teach me to fight. The few successes I had were met with punishment at home from my aunt. I was damned either way. I evolved to be able to take a hit and to show no pain, and I often found that this was enough to stop fights. But the constant bullying stunted my social growth and confidence. I'm still socially awkward and insecure at 43. There's no reason to bully people. It is possible to succeed without bringing other people down.

Shawn, bro....I got a couple things to say about this interview, and I have faith that you are going to see these comments. 1) In my opinion this is the BEST interview I've ever watched, and I have watching thousands, maybe 10s of thousands of hours of military content, both historical right up until today. This is my attempt to explain why I feel like that, please take the time to read it, thanks in advance...and thanks for posting this. It is so hard to find channels now with all the censorship with RUclips, and in the world in general. So right out of the gate when he is talking about his childhood and going on the missions trip with his family, he clearly seems to understand whether by past experiences, or just being a follower of Jesus in general is something that is frowned upon especially in RUclips videos, so at first he doesn't mention exactly what their 'mission' was, just explained that it was not allowed in the area they lived. He clearly gives you an out there seemingly as courtesy to move on withoit getting into religion, although now seeing hpw the story ends that experience was a critical part of not only his life's journey, but where he is today. And I feel like withput those parts the story wouldve been missing something, so again I applaud you for preasing him, asking him the questions and being truly engaged and interested, I am about as certain as I can be that you were truly interested without being inside your head, and I jave watched your videos before you dont strike me as a good actor, and certainly not a liar. As for the story itself, to explain this next part I need to tell you just a little about myself briefly and my life growing up. I'm from South Alabama, I was raised for the most part by my grandparents on a small rural farm. My family on both sides were at them time Pentecostal (Holiness) and as you might imagine Ive seen the worst of the worst when it comes to "church" people. That is people within any religion really, Ive seen it all, theres a lot more I coupd go into but that's enough to establish that I have been in and around pretty much all pf the mainstream religions either personally or have studied them in some capacity. The story that he tells about their 'mission' and the lovals asking them why are you here? And he answers "it's our way pf loving you". That is how it is supposed to be if you follow Jesus...ypu do what Jesus did, you go where people need help, not trying to sell them an ideology, or theology, pr convert them in any way...you go to help them first out of love, and let God do God's work. They will ask you the questions, like he said some will except the help and move on, those are the ones that you pray for to ask you next time. And then there are those that want to know nownnnthats how its supposed to be done because that's how Jesus did it. He said "I CHOSE YOU FIRST". Which means he didnt approach people and say I'll heal you up IF blah blah. Because if it requires work, or you have to pay for it, it is NOT a gift. Heres something else people get wrong, while the old testament is still good and true, it is left behind as more of a witness statement, in other words it is like a mini law library, it was guidelines for a different group of people in a different time, it is for reference...while they is still morally correct, and good try and live by, the 10 commandments were God's commandments to his chosen people the Jews, and they couldnt even follow then, we certainly cnt now...but we cn try. Jesus paid with everything he had to give to purchase all of humanity, regardless of what anybody believed then, or now because he chose us FIRST before we even had a chnce to choose him. He changed the commandments, and you'll find his replacement for them in the book of John, Its somewhere arpund either chapter 15, verse 13... Or 13:15 it escapes me ATM. But I'll go ajead and tell you what Jesus' new commandment (singular) because now there is only 1...'Love one another as I have have loved my Father'. And this is the only story of a mission trip Ive heard of that got it right! The 'church' hurt me so bad by people that I trusted and who were supposed to be leaders when I was young, just by being liars and preaching one thing and doing another that I had actually convinced myself that it was all a lie, it wasnt until some crazy events took place that I had a spiritual awakening of sorts where God showed in no uncertain terms that he existed...I was 40 years, 6 months, 13 days old when it happened. This March will be 4 years ago, over that 4 years Ive learned to shut and listen, its not like hearing voices or seeing stuff, but it just comes to you and all the sudden you know things you didnt know before, and this this video is just another confirmation for me. And from the story I've just seen this man knows exactly what I'm talking about. For those reasons, I really appreciate this video, and I appreciate that the most important parts werent censored out or otherwise glossed over as it could have very easily been, I am certain that the right people will see this video just like me, and be blessed in some way and have their faith reinforced, and perhaps even hope restored in a time when there seems to be less and less hope for this world to be able sustain itself, and people will know that no matter what they believe, or their opinion of Jesus he has already given us the gift, all it takes to claim it is to claim it. Dont matter if you killed people if you do drugs smoke drink cuss prostitute rape pillage, Jesus paid for it aalready...he only asks one thin in return and that is to love eachother, and even those he calls it a commandment it is more like a suggestion and is not required to recieve the gift of salvation because it's a GIFT there is no price or work to be done to recieve it. What he said i "if you want to be my FRIEND then follow this commandment". Not if you want to be saved. Trust me the guilty will pay and pay Dearly for what they have caused, and continue to cause. But that my friends is not our fight. So all that being said, if anyone actually made it this far...please pray for me and my family, for Shawn and Justin and their families, and for all humanity as a whole. In Jesus' name, I love all of you, and Ive already prayed us. Here's why I think people like what you do, Shawn: Yes, you're focused. Yes, your interviews are directed. But what happens when the guest, even if his subject matter is a retelling of his worst moments of his life, is sat in that brown leather chair, subdued light quiet bar studio, a guy who has true empathy and respect for him, allows the talk to move along where it must naturally go? We all get the wisdom of a life story, and this is uncommon. I doubt all those years ago the young warrior ever could have imagined being where the older warrior is now but we're all glad you're here, Shawn. Drive on, brother.
