  • I watch Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005) for the FIRST TIME!
    Movie Summary:
It has been three years since the Clone Wars began. Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) rescue Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) from General Grievous, the commander of the droid armies, but Grievous escapes. Suspicions are raised within the Jedi Council concerning Chancellor Palpatine, with whom Anakin has formed a bond. Asked to spy on the chancellor, and full of bitterness toward the Jedi Council, Anakin embraces the Dark Side.

For those of us who watched Star Wars as it was released in theaters, this episode was the culmination of the narrative we all had been waiting for since 1977. Not the story of Luke Skywalker and how he'd save the galaxy from an evil authoritarian empire, but the story of the villain, Darth Vader, and how he, who began life innocent like most children, was corrupted over time into the thug enforcer for an evil wizard. Watching in theatrical order, we knew going into this trilogy what the outcome would be. What we thirsted for were details on "HOW" it would all go down. We'd already been to the destination, as bleak as it was, this trip was about "the journey".

As for General Grievous, as we can see, he is not a droid but a cyborg and was once a humanoid being but after a fatal accident his organs were transferred into a robotic body which gave him many improvements.
Sam Grievous then with the rank of general was the commander-in-chief of the droid army on the Separatist side.
He was not sensitive to the Force, but was trained by Count Dooku in lightsaber combat, which he mastered almost to perfection.
Grievous became the most effective Jedi Killer of the Clone Wars period, killing between a dozen and even several dozen Jedi Knights.
His lightsabers were green and blue because they were the swords he took from Jedi he killed as trophies and collected them.
So Grievous was a truly formidable fighter and only the best of the Jedi could measure up to him, and Obi-Wan, being a master of the Soresu style of defensive lightsaber combat, was probably one of the few Jedi who could actually defeat Grievous and resist his 4 attacks. swords at once.

Also, Qui-Gon was the one who taught both Yoda and Obi-Wan how to become Force Ghosts. That's why Obi-Wan was so confident on the Death Star: "You can't win, Darth. if you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.". And he kinda did. Anakin learned it much faster, from Obi-Wan, moments after dying. He was the most gifted Force-sensitive in galactic history, after all.

    20:25 Fun fact about Obi-Wan.
He is a Master of the Form III lightsaber style aka Soresu. He was learning form IV which is Ataru, the same as Qui-Gon Jinn. But when he was killed in Episode 1, Obi-Wan realized there were flaws in that style and decided to focus more on Soresu which is a pure defensive style. It is a form dedicated to teaching the user how to defend against multiple opponents that you encounter. Meaning, taking on more blasters and sabers too.
This is why he was one of the best options to take on and go toe-to-toe with General Grievous.
And also why he was the best option to fight Anakin, the very same man, padawan, and brother that he had trained and essentially raised. Anakin vs. Obi-Wan was a massive duel that basically pitted a heavy offensive from Anakin versus Obi-Wan's strong defensive style. Both of them knew each other so well and were basically wearing the other one out until they were able to make a mistake and strike at their openings.

40:35 Anakins move would have worked, if Obi-Wan wouldn´t have used the exact same move against Darth Maul, and was therefore aware what Maul could have done to counter it. So he was prepared for it.
42:15 A fan theory states that Anakin is somehow still connected to Padme, and is feeding on her lifeforce to keep himself alive (or maybe this connection was triggered by the Emperor).

It's wild watching it unfold but then when you rewatch, it is just horrifying when you see how manipulated Anakin was, Palpatine is there in every movie pulling the strings even in Attack of The Clones - Palpatine suggests Padme be put under protection of the Jedi and influencing it to be 'someone she knew well/was close with aka Obi wan and aka Darth Vader in the making... under Anakin's protection Palpatine knew they would form an attachment to then later use that against him plaguing him with visions of her death to the point of fruition... Her death is because of their force connection to each other, as Anakin dies and Vader is born Padme dies with him. This series has 7 seasons so I think it would be nice to get reactions from it and it explains a lot of things about movies, I honestly recommend it and even though some of the first episodes may seem a bit childish, it really picks up after that.

Edit 1 I forgot to mention that The Clone Wars '08 was designed to fill the timw gape between the end of Vol 1 and the second Chapter of the Vol 2 of Clone Wars '03 and the moment we learn that Anakin & Obi Wan are taking part of the sieges in the Outer rim

There's more to Anakin's fall than just Padme. The movie almost makes it seem like Padme is the only reason he turns at times, but there is a lot more to it. Even this movie hints at a few reasons Anakin turns other than her. If you really want to enjoy this movie to the fullest, I'd suggest watching the Clone Wars series, it details the events leading up to this movie between the Clone Wars movie and this one- including events that make Anakin's fall much more tragic and predictable. Makes the movie much more fun to watch when events become more understandable than if you watch the movies by themselves.

Anakin's descent into darkness was well portrayed.
Because some Jedi never completely loved him, didn't respect him, didn't trust him, didn't take him seriously and even despised him.
As a child before Obi-Wan started teaching him, he was hated and psychologically bullied by other children "Anakin is a slave to his feelings" and that was only because of envy because he was much more gifted and skilled than them.
    .
    .
    .
And many other things and sufferings he and his padawan, Ashoka Tano, the Jedi like to cause.
Yoda during the Clone Wars, he met the spirit of Darth Bane in Sitt's tomb, which is created by the rule of two.
And later in his visions he saw Anakin becoming Darth Vader and didn't do anything about it because I thought it wasn't worth it.
Anakin was a slave all his life - Tatuine, Jedi, Love, Dark Side.
He became a father figure to Qui-gon Jinn, during his stay in the temple he was psychologically bullied and called by others "Anakin slaves to his own feelings", he lost his mother, the Jedi never married him all the time and without proper evidence he accused Ashoka and caused her to leave and finally he was afraid of losing Padmé.
The only and worst support given the events was Palpatine who was a fatherly substitute for Anakin from the beginning.
When he used Mace Windu's hand and after killing the Jedi he was already in the dark as the dark side itself showed him to the planet Mortis The One Son.
On Mustafar, Padme almost got him from the dark side, but Obi-Wan discovered him and screwed it up.
Anakin "Vader" built his castle on Mustafar and thanks to the two sbosobs he tried to revive Padmé but he could not see it due to the fact that Luke and Leya were already born, they were the only ones preventing it with their existence.
Too bad he didn't find "Word between Wolrds" on the planet Lothal. He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;)
    .
    .
    .
You have to find out about the lost 20 Jedi like Count Dooku, about the fates of Jedi with the ability to see the future, young apprentices who were not taken by any Jedi masters to learn, who showed little talent for the force and were not shown to the temple which in some cases was quite drastic, . ..
Blinded by ego, aronance, pride, absolute help to people and not following the path of forces.
Honor to the exceptions and one of the true Jedi was Master Fey.
The Jedi and the Fallen Jedi (Sith) have betrayed the memory and message of their common ancestors of the Je'daii Order by their actions and the endless battles of their Civil War. 😊
May the force be with you.
And may you lead the force. 🖐️

Anakin's story works best as was shown in the movies. TCW ruined Grievous, Dooku, returned Maul although that was a crime, elevated original mary sue Ahsoka but she's nothing and animation is so awful i would rathergouge my eyes than see that abomination. Clone Wars 2003 are canon movies Clone Wars plus Battlefront 2005 Rise of the Empire story. TCW 2008 is trash for kids

Filoni worked with Lucas for a long long time and knows what his universe is. Maul was also in the books after being cut in half..
When you watch the clone wars it gives a more in depth story instead of doing constant time jumps. It makes it all one cohesive story. You also say The Clone wars is the biggest crime but it’s extremely successful and Hayden praises the show.
Lastly, Lucas has zero fingerprints on anything Star Wars now so you’re gonna have to deal with it. I’m gonna be just like Hayden sittin down watching Ahsoka cause he’s excited for his snips to have her own show

Order 66 hits harder if you're an EU fan and you read the old comics, played the games, and watched the 2003 mini series before Revenge of the Sith came it. It was even harder after the 2008 Clone Wars. I was 7 when I saw this movie. You gotta understand that this was marketed as the END of the movies. It was one of the biggest events of the franchise. All the content I mentioned before about expanded universe stuff like comics, novels, and games were hyping up Revenge of the Sith in their own way. Seeing the series come full circle was unlike anything I've ever experienced. There was a moment in time where we only had the original trilogy, and the first two prequels. Revenge of the Sith was shrouded in mystery all we knew going in was info from old guide books that described the Anakin and Obi-Wan fight as a duel over a volcano. We didn't know it was gonna happen on a full-on volcano planet, but we knew what was coming, and it was astounding. I believe that duel still holds the record for longest sword fight in cinema history too, and it's well earned.

He killed so many huk his clan saw him as a Demi god. Sheelal soon fell in love with a female kaleesh called Ronderu. They became close before her death to the Huk. Heartbroken Sheelal renamed himself Grievous (grieving). He channeled all his anger towards the Huk and eventually swarmed and pushed them back to their homeworld where he conquered them. Seeking help from the Jedi the Huk soon gained the upper hand as the Jedi pushed grievous back to his homeworld. He then began begging help from the banking clan who then put word to dooku about this warrior. Desperate to help his clan Grievous would try to go back to Kalee only to have his ship blown up by the count. Once in his cybernetics grievous returned home only to find his planet destroyed, thus his hatred for the jedi truly began and so took on Dookus droid army and became the enforcer for the trade federation/separatists. Fun fact grievous was actually hiding out on Geonosis in AOTC when the Jedi arrived but did not interrupt as he wasn’t fully capable of his cybernetics and also the count did not want the Jedi seeing his new weapon they would soon be victims of.
