Hi Nigel, There are mate, I see them every day. I like to see people having a good go though, its the ones who profess to know and then put videos out on how to do it WRONG! I could be way more technical but not what we are documenting, More how much needs to be done and ask yourself about your skills before you begin? If that makes sense. "I'm going to build a boat but cant wire a plug?????" There are some great channels but having taught automotive some make me think......what the hell? I'm doing some remedial work on a 2 year old boat that the surveyor has a long list on, that was wired by professionals? We are just trying to be honest and transparent. Great of you to comment.
great work. I would have used a multitool to get rid of that foam, but by the time you read this comment, i bet you are all done ! Looking forward to your progress.
Great point! Thanks Andy, I have been using multitool for some trim back. I'm not adverse to doing things the old way. I don't know what I did before Multitool, I use it all the time in my day job. Thanks for watching. We have go a lot done today.
Really enjoyed watching your 1st fix. I was in the Army so was fully trained in how to enjoy watching other people work 🙂 looking forward to seeing your home progress.
Hi Mart & Fran a great vlog thank you and very informative. Some very neat and effective work with the wiring Mart and your explanation was easy to follow. The boat floor plan looks great as well. We look forward to further vlogs. Keith & Helen Melbourne Auzz.
Good day Keith and Helen, welcome aboard. Thanks for the positive comments, always appreciated. All we can do is our best regarding planning and fit out. There will be some head scratchers for sure at some point.
A good way to cut back the foam is to use a multi-tool with a wood cutting blade. It’s a bit messy but gives a good accurate finish and the depth of cut be controlled relatively easily.
Great Video Guys , Been following you since the start and ready enjoying the build now , Great standard of work you are very methodical Cheers Dave rock on
Awesome, thank you David. We try to be, but not 100% successful lol. With a boat build every job impacts on another so, am trying to see those before they happen.
Great video’s guys, really interesting we’ve just taken delivery of our Aintree Beetle, think I saw yours during one of our many visits to the yard, to record our journey from build to canal. Not quite the same as your interesting project though Good luck with it and hopefully we might meet up when you get out and about on the cut.
Really enjoying watching you guys on this project! I'm about to do the same in a couple of months. I wish you all the very best with it, I think you got everything planned well and can't wait to see how she turns out
If you attach a wire wheel to a drill, you can trim or remove that foam quickly and easily. and don't forget the goggles and mask! Let it settle and move on to the next project
I can only think this is a fault interruptor FYI ? In texting it means for your information. My old guvnor who's no longer with us would go mad if we wernt wearing knee pads! Wish I had listened to him mate. Crippled now, hospital job. Keep going pals.
Hi Robert, I have been an electrician since I completed my apprenticeship at British Steel. Spent a lifetime kneeling on cold hard floors, and that had had some impact on my knees. Hate kneepads though, the ones that strap behind the knee are so uncomfortable and I wear shorts for most the year lol. They play up from time to time but are quiet at the moment. Sad to hear you need surgery on yours, hopefully after that, you can get about more.
Hiya martin! Yer unfortunately they don't do operations till your like a Stephen hawking now days. I was just thinking of you long term on a boat, stepping off and on and doing locks as the years roll on. I always wanted a canal boat being an angler in retirement, ballsed up cos of the building,my dad was the same. I haven't reached retirement yet so that's all gone. Did you find out what FYI is ? So much in the game changes everyday! Rob.
Great update guys. You both enjoy your beer /wine or two. May I ask wouldn't a scrapper blade attachment for your multi tool helped with removing the insulated foam a bit quicker . (Just a thought)
If you knew where every thing was going then I dont see why not. I have never seen that done by a boat builder though. It just takes a bit of time to run all those cables.
Hi Jessiah. Thank you so much for the positive comments. Regarding completion date, we have purposely not set an expectation. Its a long and winding road and will be done when shes done. Saying that we wont be hanging around either.
Hi Guys, Great to watch another professional looking build starting, love watching these, way to many bodge jobs out there. Cheers, Nigel

Hi Nigel, yes I’ve been using that method for a bit now. It certainly is easier.

Come the vlogs coming guys :-) - its all going to look great! :-)
Cheers Denis, we will, after all we have plenty of material. Thank you.
Lookin good. Is the plumbing going at the bottom? I like the corner shower plan. I put one on my last house.
Hi. Bryan, yes all the plumbing will run along the bottom mate. You want plumbing accessible, just in case.
Corner shower seems to fit our space better. Thank you.

Hi Gary, now that does sound messy. Its pretty much all done now, wasn't too bad at all. Thanks for the comment.

Hi John, thank you. Yes maybe, I hadn't thought of that! I have a bit more to get rid of so I'll try it out.
I feel like they should put conduit in for cables prior to spraying the foam.
If you knew where every thing was going then I dont see why not. I have never seen that done by a boat builder though. It just takes a bit of time to run all those cables.
How long do you estimate the fit-out will take you? I'll be with you all the way. I love to watch other work. See you next week. Much Respect Jessiah

Port left, starboard right. If drinking port, the saying is “there is no port LEFT”.
I cant handle the thought of there being no port left!
Safety glasses when you use those knives I will tell you the story it’s not nice !!!!!
Hi Adrian, Yeah I am a bit slack with that. Still have some steel in my eye from way back. Were your PPE folks!
