VERY SORRY for the slightly misleading information given about the last step of getting the citizenship in Chile. I discussed with more expats in Chile and they said the immigration office is requiring a significant amount of time spent in Chile during the process of waiting for the citizenship to be approved (last step after permanent residency). They also require an interview in Spanish before granting the citizenship which they only notify you before a few days. Chile recently changed the 180-day requirement to maintain the visa active (that's why I got so excited to make this video) but when it comes to granting citizenship, it's not as easy as I mentioned. Again, VERY SORRY for not triple checking this information, I got extremely excited because Chile is a country I love and would be very happy to be a citizen of. I will not share the contact of the lawyer until I can 100% be sure that you can get the citizenship and the exact process. Thank you for your comments ❤️

This is a VERY MISLEADING video. I´ve been in Chile for almost 10 years and am currently waiting for my citizenship to be approved, so I know what I´m talking about. First, when you apply for citizenship, the process usually takes two to three years (in addition to those initial 3-5 years that you need to get a permanent visa and qualify for citizenship), and not 6-12 months that were mentioned in the video. Second, you certainly may get lucky and get your permanent visa approved without having to live in Chile, however, you will NOT get approved for citizenship without actually living in Chile. Spending two weeks in four years in the country is a joke. There are clear rules about how many days you can be outside of the country per year (about 180 days if I´m not mistaken). Third, when you apply for citizenship, you need to have an in-person interview in Spanish at the Police department (mine is tomorrow, yay!) and they give you a very short notice, literally, a couple of days. This is made to eliminate those who think they can live outside of Chile and get citizenship. At least now they notify a day or two before the interview, a couple of years ago they could send you an email literally saying that your interview is tomorrow at 8 AM. If you can´t attend the interview, it´s a clear sign that you´re not living in the county, you´ll have another chance in a couple of months and again, you´ll get a very short notice. So you literally have to be in Chile and wait for it. All in all, change your lawyer if you hope to get a Chilean passport... there are many nuances, and the process is not as fast and easy as described in the video

Permanent Residence in Paraguay means you can live in Paraguay indefinitely without a visa, provided any conditions to maintain the residence are met. There is no passport because a Permanent Residence Permit is not a citizenship. Chilean citizenship (this is what the "visa" here is) means that you become a Chilean citizen and are eligible to acquire a Chilean passport, which you can then use to travel visa-free to many countries, including the US (though if you have a US citizenship, you are required to use the US passport upon entering and exiting the United States). That law changed in October of 22. You now get a migrant visa with the property purchase and then after 5 years you can apply for the permanent resident visa assuming you haven't sold your property. Once you have the permanent resident visa it's another 5 years until citizenship unless you get married cutting down the time to 2 years.

What is better Paraguay permit residency or the this Chile visa?
Paraguay seems more appealing on paper
In paraguay you pay less taxes.
I'm not sure about what his lawyer advised. "Once your one year temporary visa is approved, you must remain in Chile for at least 180 days in a one year period before you can apply for permanent residency"
"Applying for a retirement visa requires the provision of a valid passport and proof of financial support while in the country. You can apply for permanent residency after living for a year in Chile, provided you haven't traveled out of the country for 180 days and have paid all taxes. "
Brazil is the best one!
Do you or you lawyer perhaps have any information for visas on getting married to a Chilean?
What about Ecuador?
My wife and i are both foreigners we will be having a baby in Chile 🇨🇱 apparently we can become citizens as well is there any citizenship test or is at an automatic passport after 2 years ?
He says Dubai more than he says chile🤣
Do you do consulting??
You could get the Columbian citizenship you have to buy real estate then keep it for 5 years.
That law changed in October of 22. You now get a migrant visa with the property purchase and then after 5 years you can apply for the permanent resident visa assuming you haven't sold your property. Once you have the permanent resident visa it's another 5 years until citizenship unless you get married cutting down the time to 2 years.
What do u think about Panama or Dominican Republic?
I'm not sure about what his lawyer advised. "Once your one year temporary visa is approved, you must remain in Chile for at least 180 days in a one year period before you can apply for permanent residency"
"Applying for a retirement visa requires the provision of a valid passport and proof of financial support while in the country. You can apply for permanent residency after living for a year in Chile, provided you haven't traveled out of the country for 180 days and have paid all taxes. "
Can you please make a vedio about investment in British overseas territories like anguilla or montserrat?
I think you need to spend a decent amount of time in Chile to actually get naturalized since they changed the law No?
Yes sir
I have a question that a person from another country which there have 60-70 visa free country and he/she able to buy citizenship maximum $1million so which country should have to buy with more then 130 visa free and few visa on arrival etc have which also have to enter USA as a tourist without visa. And fastest way to get maximum 2 year's of waiting time.
You're right, it's common-sense. Even Afghanistan wouldn't give passport like that.
This "expert" is from Puerto Rico but doesn't know anything about south America.
