When opportunity costs aren’t an issue, I guess his strategy does work. For the rest of us, a more modest and pinpointed approach is probably more feasible. I personally (as a regular income earner) managed to get 3 passports and 2 residence permits.

Your best option would be to search for European ancestry in your family tree and try to reclaim. Otherwise Portugal and Ireland are probably the easiest to obtain.

Lastly, I think Costa Rica is one of the best places in Central/South America regarding taxes. I would say its in the top 10 passports somebody could have, their tax laws are very lenient for businessmen, if done properly. They have gotten very strict over the years with making people citizens of the country though.
I think the other way, America it's a huge place to invest weather real estate or in business, and as an American it's cheaper to borrow money also as a tourist you can only be there for 90 days at a time.
