A word about background checks. Just because you have an American felony conviction, you may not necessarily be barred from residence or citizenship in another country. Murder, sex crimes, corruption, drug trafficking, and career crime are almost assuredly a disqualifier. Andrew interviewed a man with a US Federal felony conviction for explosives (misclassified fireworks) that is considered violent. He renounced US citizenship, is able to visit Japan, and has a visa to visit and stay in the US. Then, there are others with no criminal convictions or charges anywhere in the world who are barred from entry, like US citizen Michael Savage, who are banned from entry to UK. It's all a case-by-case basis. If you messed up by illegally carrying a gun in New York, got into a bar fight in Virginia where your attacker got stitches, or just failed to comply with federal regulations in a business, talk to a lawyer. Doors are closed to you, but not all.

You can eventually divorce after and keep the passport. I plan to pay an African woman a small amount, marry her, and get the passport, then divorce her. Thsi way I will obtain two additional passports at a very low cost. It is probably not completely legal, but what is it?
There is no free south african passport you have gotten a work permit fist for 5 years and the apply for permanent residency even then after 5 more years as a resident then your become a citizen and no you cannot cheat the system by dating a south African woman or man
Yeah, for me too.
I still live in the states and I recently mentioned in a conversation that I do believe we will see a rise in Africa on the world stage considering the moves that are being made there, of course the men i was speaking to all laughed. Many commonfolk in the US still believe africa will never be a global powerhouse, but they continue to disconnect from western influence, and with that I believe they will regain primary control of thier resources which will propel them forward economically and potentially even open up new opportunities in commodities on the continent.
Can you elaborate on the moves we are seeing in Africa? I am just curious because to be honest I know very little about what is going on in Africa.
Completely agree!
Cape Verde… gorgeous spot!

I'm very optimistic about Africa's future. Lived here my whole life, been to Europe, going to Tbilisi in June, but there's something about this continent. It is neck deep in problems, but I do not suggest underestimating how quickly things can turn around. Zambia is very promising, and South Africa has enormous potential. The African Free Trade Area and freedom of movement protocols will fundamentally change the game.
SA passport isn't terrible either. Not great, but not atrocious. Especially for third world and developing countries.
Yea learn from your ancestors bro
Exactly, Africa has a lot of opportunities.
Thoughts on moving to Cape Town, South Africa? perhaps an episode on South Africa would do.
Great location, however, its success is creating infrastructure problems. Wait for outcome of elections on 29 May as ANC is going to have less than 50%, so will be interesting

Cape Town has a high criminal rate, but after spending 3 years there I must say, it probably won't happen to you when you're streetsmart & know where to hang out and when to watch your surroundings. Other than that, to me, it's one of the best cities I've ever lived in.
Thanks Andrew!
You've conjured up a huge amount of interest in the continent of Africa.
Mauritius is at the top of the list.
Namibia is kind of interesting because of the demographics.
Cape Verde is somewhat of a case study and requires so much more information in order for someone to even consider acquiring their passport.

This was refreshing to watch, glad you are speaking on Africa.
So a European has to speak about Africa for you to feel refreshed , so pathetic
I can remember when Andrew would make videos on good places to get passports and Africa with all of it's 54 countries was nowhere on any of his lists. And this was fairly recently. I would leave comments mentioning that fact and how he was amiss in not even mentioning one even though there were and are several. It's amazing how in such a short time his tune has changed

Rwanda may grant citizenship by exception if you invest more than $100.000 in this country.
Great video. I thought I was the only one thing this way. I got all my kids a Gambia passport and a birth certificate to pass on to their kid if needed. When I met my wife in 1995 in the UK. The only reason we couldn't call it home is that none of us had any right to settle there. If only her Mom did apply for a UK citizenship we would have been ok. Now I have three passports and I use them all. A Gambia passport, New Zealand and Australia passport. It is the most liberating feeling ever.
I signed my Dad a few months ago up for Citizenship by Descent because his grandfather was born in Cape Verde (when it was a Portuguese territory) but he hasn’t received any response.

I would say business opportunities, yes, absolutely
But offshore investing, it depends....
There’s a saying, you can be in Africa and easily run a business in Europe (from Africa), but it’s not easy to be in Europe and easily run a business in Africa....
You’d have to dig deep to find a local manager who can act as your alter-ego in most places in Africa (S. Africa might be the exception),
that type of dedicated, self-starter work ethic isn’t as easily found here (not impossible but will take time to find/develop), if you can find or develop that person, your good as golden 😅

My guy is finally seeing the light. Africa is where it's at. It's still the best place to live if you're middle class in the west. It offers a better quality of life if you have money. And the passports like the Kenyan one, give you access to most of the world except the west. But for Asia, middle east, Africa and the Caribbean. I was in Europe last year and was really unimpressed. The control was too much. Europe is horrible for entrepreneurs. You should get a Kenyan passport, allows dual citizenship and has one of the best passports in Africa. Property prices are very high, same price as in the west, especially in the four cities. Taxes and corruption is very high! The latter could be good or bad for your business depending on the industry you're in.
12:43 when the 'African union' begins it will probably be more 'difficult' to get citizenship in Africa because the 'citizenships' will be a lot more 'valuable.'

Rwanda is amazing and I agree, I hope they have a program for citizenship or at least residency. One of my most memorable and favourite countries in Africa. ❤️
Rwanda for sure. I have been to both countries (Rwanda - 2024 and Nigeria 2019). Kenyan in Europe but Rwanda is the most organised country I have seen. There are things to be improved, eg jobs for locals, but at least their government is functional. Clean and safe. Heaven for runners/joggers. I called the police in the middle of the night to complain about noise pollution and they showed up in less than 10 mins. Something that never happens in even Kenya or France.
@francisakali2101 What about the political risk though? Surely chaos will ensue when Kagame hands over power (if he does). Africa is a great country to travel in as it's very diverse and the country side is Amazing. I'm looking forward to going back one day to see more of the continent. Personally, I wouldn't like to live there full time or do business as it's just too corrupt, and I don't see that changing anytime in the future as corruption is just part of life there.
