Designer here, the reason why the dress didn’t work with the pants is because of proportions! The length of the inspo“dress” was shorter than the pants, where as the recreated outfit had 50/50 pants and dress. Also I think hers was more a babydoll top than a dress. I’m sure it would look super cute if you hiked up the dress right under the bust to shorten the length ( you can use safety pins and a ribbon)!
I think it would also work better if the jeans were longer! I feel like all the dress over trousers outfits that work are with full-length bottoms, instead of that slightly cropped length
I’m only 2 outfits in but I am so happy that your outfits are different from the Pinterest photos!! I love that you’re showing how you take inspo from the photo and not just copy and paste; this is my favorite practice for my own closet!
if you’re in a rut, this is the perfect time for another video of us styling you!
not sure if you've tried digitizing your wardrobe (i saw in your color analysis video that you used open wardrobe), but i did recently and it's been SUCH a game changer for putting together outfits!! it's a tedious process to get all your clothes in the app, but it's worth it imo
nvm, i see that you've been using it
maybe the blue sheer robe could be styled with a maxi denim skirt/dress?
would be cool to see how it would look with a short denim skirt too !
new video idea? styling clothes that are hard to style
I think if you have the blue sheer robe shortened/cropped it would be a much more wearable piece and look much cuter with the jeans. Loved the plaid skirt/red top/boots look!
Or, maybe instead of the mom jean fit, more of a wide leg jean would match the silhouette of the robe? I think the outfit has so much potential! Cropping the robe would also be cute💕
My favorite is the last one, with the skirt and the front tie cardigan. It works great together, especially with the shirt that has another print underneath.
The green dress may pair better with white pants or capris. I think the colors would work better
I just got some denim capris so I am definitely going to try that!! ❤️
I actually loved the sheer robe, but if the tank didn't have a patter on it and was just white.❤
i love the last outfit with out the cardigan.
Love the grey blazer/denim skirt outfit. They were such hard inspo photos and I loved all your slip dresses!😊
Maybe try the baby blue robe with pastel, white or grey bottoms
The grey pants that go with the grey blazer!
I love the blue nightie outfit.
If you don’t what the nightie I can take it off your hands 😉
Would it make a difference if you cropped the sheer blue jacket? I think it would look pretty cute and you might find it more wearable.
What if you tried white bloomer shorts with the blue sheet over coat?! Or capris or skinny jeans?
Loved the animal print dress with the leather vest! So good
the first outfit ATEEEE! obsessed
I actually really loved your dress over jeans outfit! I like the idea of a dress over jeans, but I haven’t been able to style it in a way I like. I’m looking forward to getting out of a fashion slump as well 🥰 thanks for the inspo, Alexa!
I love all the looks on you! Layering with vests and sheer items look so adorable on you.
I completely relate being in a fashion slump. Something about the change in seasons makes me lose some inspiration. I will definitely be using this format to get some new styling ideas with my own clothes!
Tbh I think the sheer gown outfit would look better with denim shorts or a mini skirt underneath
I agree, the blue sheer robe outfit was so pretty!!
I would like to see the tank with the cherry print 10:10 with the purple cardigan 12:40 with the white skirt 13:30 - maybe with red cowboy boots?
Love all the looks you created
I'm early! I need fashion inspo too and I'm excited for this one!
I would treat the sheer robe like a kimono. I always wear denim and sandals with mine.
Hiiii :) i think the blue see through thingy would look great with a dress or skirt which is slightly longer (like 1 or 2 inches) 9:51
Love the idea behind this video! ❤
Confidence is key bby I love all the outfits you put together and you look amazing 🩵
13:42 it’s giving Britney Spears a little bit!! Which I love
Last outfit after you took off the cardigan is cute!!
I would try a white pant perhaps a white skinny jean with the blue sheer cover. I think this would work better because the sheer top is so so flowy! I really like the metallic Oxfords you chose!
UHHH HEY THATS MEEEE BESTIE
Good morning Alexa happy Sunday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Stylist here: I LOVED the vintage sheer nightwear piece over the denim. It looked so chic! You have long legs and the proportions were spot on. ❤
Love the adidas and peasant top too. Cute!
xx
With the dress over jeans, I like all the long relaxed layers of fabric! For me I might try to include more of that on the top, like using an oversized t-shirt or some other top with big sleeves?
I think the sheer robe would work better with black wider leg jeans
You look amazing. I love the vest!! Wearing dresses over jeans is such a childlike wonder thing for me, I LOVE U!
Your style is seriously 10/10!!! ❤ Definitely need to keep trying it out because I love every outfit you put together with dresses over jeans!
I liked the blue see thru outfit on the pattern
Also in a fashion slump rn so i NEED this ❤
Alexa, you're so cute! Also totally unrelated to the video, but would love to see you do a make-up tutorial!!
The blue robe looked great, but definitely with different shoes. I think the shoes threw the whole thing off imo
Your version of the first outfit is better than the inspo
I think it would be interesting to unpack “Pinteresty” as a negative. It’s probably that thing of dressing for social media vs dressing for real life. Personally, I pin things I would actually wear with clothes I already have (beautiful fashion images can go in a separate editorial album). Why pin, then be self-conscious about using the inspo? Worth deciding whether it’s a day for being a local fashion groundbreaker or a day for dressing cool/comfortable with some of one’s favorite clothes to get ish done.
There’s another YTer called Queenteshna who has a great attitude to Pinterest inspo; recommend.
I LOVE UR CHANNELLL!!! Its my birthday! So im glad you posted :) ❤
hope you have a great birthday!!
@@alexasunshine83🥺🩷 thank you!!! I will always watch ur videos for outfit inspiration!!
Personally, I thought the blue nightie outfit was really cute!
I love your little sheer robes, they remind me of Doris Day's nighttime looks in "Midnight Lace", one of my favorite films. If you manage to actually wear them in a daytime outfit I'd be very impressed, though!
I really like the red t-shirt, plaid skirt and high black boot combo. I agree, it looked better without the white cardigan. Maybe with a black cardigan instead?
Would love to see the slip dress under the white cardigan and the plaid skirt
What if you try the sheer blue over the green slip u wore earlier with white tights under the dress.
Love this
I love leopard print
My observation: I think sometimes you put too many pieces together and it messes up the outfit. Like the last one--without the sweater it is incredible! That sleeveless t-shirt is so cool--think I said that in another video where you used it. Also the athletic shorts and puffy top looked really cute--shorts, top, shoes, that's it! If an outfit's not working, take something away and then look in the mirror again.
I loved the outfits that you didn’t like: the one with the blue tule rope and the one with the adidas shorts. I think both look fantastic on you! If you don’t want the blue rope, sell it to me. I have not been able to find something like it and blue is my favorite color.
Wear the blue sheer jacket thing with with a white tube top (or something like it) a tulle skirt (not too poofy and not too long) and don’t tie that blue thing 🖤🖤
The dress without the t shirt underneath would make more sense
I had originally gone with that, but then the straps and chest looked weird so I opted for the top underneath but now I think without the top looked better 😭 I cut out me explaining that because I felt like I was saying nonsense haha
I had an idea about the sheer blue robe. Hear me out...but what if the hem was scrunched or rolled up to a cropped waistline then the fabric tied into a bow in either the front or back with maybe a satin ribbon accent? idk if it would work but my brain is leaning coquette
ok i dont know heaps about fashion but the second outfit would totally look better without the tshirt under neath and a shorter dress!
I personally cannot grow to like a dress over pants look it only looks good on certain aesthetic photo and just for the photo. In real life on the street it would always look a bit odd to me and not my personal choice for sure.
I've been in a bit of a style slump too recently, I have a holiday coming up and I look at my wardrobe and just like, I just want to wear t shirts and shorts, even tho I just got some stunning dresses and skirts, I dont know what it is and then I get more clothes hoping to get a little spark or something, usually I'm constantly thinking of every outfit for each day of my holiday but I'm just meh and I have 2 weeks till the holiday. I'm also having an OCD flare up where I need every style of Jean's in 3 colours and I order my jeans from Ebay as I dont get out much so when they come and dont fit I order another 2 to try get the perfect one and it's just causing so much anxiety at the moment where I can just constantly feel my heart beat and it's frustrating, I have great Jean's and dont really need more except one dark blue pair to match a shearling lined dark blue denim jacket. Theres also a small part of me thinking I need the Levi dungarees cus I have Levi shorts, jeans and jacket so I need overalls from Levi's even tho I have 2 pairs of free people overalls which are literally my perfect overalls. So I'm justifying not getting the Levi overalls cus I dont have a denim waistcoat or shirt from Levi's. I feel like my wardrobe has to make sense and fit into one box which is stupid cus I love 70s, 90s, bohemian, grunge, skater clothes but at the moment convincing myself I should only have 90s. Frustrating that's all I can say. I also keep trying trendy things but realising I dont like a single trend so why am I trying it. Like a denim skirt, doesnt work for me, I know that, blue striped shirts, I dont wear smart looking clothes. I have 2 pairs of uggs, wish I only have one for around the house, luckily got them for great deals on Ebay. I dont see them as going out shoes. I'm sticking myself getting birkenstock cus I hate slip on shoes cus I can never keep them on and always trip in them. But everyone has birkenstocks. I got into cowboy boots before they became a trend, I played red dead redemption 2 and became obssessed with cowboys and country music. But now they became a trend, I dont want to wear them, im so stupid. I'm going to wear them. Theres also the fact I live in England and people tend to wear just jeans and t shirts. I dont like attention but love attention grabbing clothes which sometimes scares me from wearing them. Trying to push myself there tho.
Is there a warm toned hair product that is like a temporary rinse?
I think if I were trying to style one of those sheer robes I would put it over a bra/bralette (even a bikini top!) with a midi or maxi skirt ~~
I love your cat mom shirt. I'm a cat mom, too.
i have a video idea for you! chat gpt chooses my outfits! ask chat gpt to give you outfit ideas and then recreate what they say
Can I ask which Nike’s those are?
The reason the blue sheer doesnt work is its loo long
Pin it until the hem is attractive on you
Hem length is important in everything
Love your try ons!
Wear the baby blue robe over a bodycon dress.
Where did you get the shirt you're wearing from?
Oddli ! ❤ I will say the tee is almost like a sweatshirt material so a little thicker than most baby tees I've tried and didn't realize until I got it, it's not bad just different feeling!
I think dress over pants only work when the dress is very loose and not super fitting.
VERY LOOSE INSPIRATION 💕
I kinda hate these outfits :/
