Christ, such an inventive and rocking group. It's just frustrating to see these new Tik Tok artists getting 50 million views for stuff noone will remember, while this gets 1/100th the views. I luv u Wales and Great Britain, from a Yank.
I saw them years ago at the Warehouse in Toronto and I remember during the drum outro Nicky was jumping rope. I thought it was one of the funniest and coolest things I’ve ever seen someone do on stage. He reminds me of Noel Fielding.
OMG I can't believe I've never seen this video before - I was there at the 'Manic Millennium' gig at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on that night! The best way to see in the millennium and they were brilliant, even though my overwhelming memory was that it was flipping FREEZING and we were all there for hours in our little black dresses & feather boas! I also have a vague memory of eating an "alf & 'alf with curry sauce in the infamous Chip Alley afterwards having had way too many bottles of WKD Blue at the gig, then stumbling back home to my student digs having lost my shoes somehow! Ahhh...memories of a fab night as a 25 year old!
I was there too, don’t remember it being cold at all. My memory is simply of being stupendously ill as I had flu over the xmas and was totally bedridden for days and had literally just barely recovered enough to walk around and go to the gig, travelling all the way to Cardiff from the North East of England. Was stood way back leaning against one of the pillars feeling horrible but was determined to go if I was physically capable. Weird to think I was 23 at the time and so people not even born at the time of the gig are now the same age I was then. Seems like 5 minutes ago
Libraries gave us power Then work came and made us free What price now for a shallow piece of dignity I wish I had a bottle Right here in my dirty face to wear the scars To show from where I came We don't talk about love we only want to get drunk And we are not allowed to spend As we are told that this is the end A design for life A design for life A design for life A design for life I wish I had a bottle Right here in my pretty face to wear the scars To show from where I came We don't talk about love we only want to get drunk And we are not allowed to spend As we…
Bradfield styling out the guitar strap slip and then filling in the silence with some arm wiggling is rock and roll as F! Absolute class all round. Iconic!
I've seen them ten times and funnily, this was the last time I ever went to see them.. Saw three gigs with Richey in the band and I gave up seeing them in the end knowing they'd never be as good as the early days. That's just my opinion though. I preferred the early Manics. A lot like this era though. They were massively popular at this stage.
One of the greatest bands of all time. Some write the lyrics, some have the song ideas, some do the fashion ,some become guitar gods........ AND SOME PLAY THE DRUMS
Noel Gallagher wrote 'Live Forever', 'The Masterplan', 'Slide Away', 'Whatever' and 'Champagne Supernova' before he'd made a penny with his own music. I think he'll be happy enough. I think the Manics were awesome btw. 'Patsy' and 'Let Robeson Sing' are CRIMINALLY underrated.
The director of MASH let his son write the lyrics of the song because he was immature, the dad was paid 30 grand for the film his 15 year old son made millions
No effing phones. Just a ruck of us enjoying one of the greatest bands ever. What a time to be alive.
I was there - had to sleep at the train station, with just a Welsh flag for warmth - but was well worth it!
ha same, slept on a bench by the station. Was an amazing gig.
And this is why it was, without doubt, the best song of the 90s.. Timeless, powerful, unbeatable.
A song that shows your working class identity, yet you have progressed and you don't forget where you come from!.
The broken guitar strap moment is outstanding
Broken string in fact - but yeah, what a fucken pro.
Very smooth, but not quite as smooth as Stevie Ray Vaughan ruclips.net/video/JIFdMbhCa94/видео.html
@@davebeal5471 The guitar strap fell off. Watch again.
@@davebeal5471 Nah nothing to do with the string, the strap broke.
@@davebeal5471 if it was a broken string then he would've needed a different guitar.
Greatest band in the universe
Totally
you ever heard the Stereophonics?
@@rallyboy101 yeah. The manics are better
The rythm of my life since 96. Thx manics
❤
the best performance ever... what a great song... what a great band... all around...
Love the manics. Amazing. Humble down too earth. No bullshit.
I’m so very proud I was able to organise this gig in Cardiff my hometown
You did an amazing job 🙌
Thank you!!
My Dad was here. He said he loved it
Makes me cry
Best opening line of any song ever.

Agree! Love these
... there must be a reason why no one will remember those piles of crap !
The shoutout to Richey at the beginning
It’s got to be one of the greatest songs ever, brilliant band.
The best band, song and frontman in the world
Stay Beautiful "right here in my panicked face"?
I saw them years ago at the Warehouse in Toronto and I remember during the drum outro Nicky was jumping rope. I thought it was one of the funniest and coolest things I’ve ever seen someone do on stage. He reminds me of Noel Fielding.
The music is so fresh and timeless it could have been from this week and not the nineties
Sean Moore, massively underrated drummer.
20yrs..real fan in south korea
Biblic ❤
Génios. Uma banda super inteligente. Muita qualidade. E na guitarra James rebenta com tudo. Adoro
Banda de coração
One of the best bands in the world 🌎 they have had a ruff road but still come out on top this song 🎵 rocks 🪨 🎸 😎 love manic street preachers.

Hi from Japan. I was there!
Proper band proper song lyrics something else
Richey would have loved the fact they did this.
THE GREATEST SONG IN ROCK HISTORY.
After there is a light and it never goes out. Great song.

I was there. This is the first time I've seen footage of the gig. Sounded good.
U r very lucky!
I've only just seen this too and I was there as well! Brilliant night, even if it was flipping freezing!!
God save the Manics!
Bradfield styling out the guitar strap slip and then filling in the silence with some arm wiggling is rock and roll as F!

5:04 to 5:14 those 10 second are the best camera work and production I’ve seen from any concert

Incredible.... just incredible. I dont expect to see anything that touches this ever again

What a song. What a band. Please come to Jakarta! ❤
James Dean Bradfield on stage without a guitar was like seeing a hermit crab without its shell.
Ahhah..brilliant
sounded good though
Paul! nothing like anthing but everthing they playd
Oh i love this song and band
I've seen clips of James doing the Dad dancing and I never knew where it was from, love it!
Seen them in slane in 98 just epic
Never lost their touch when I saw them on Saturday
Please come to Korea again!! 😭
greatest smile at 03:51 - 03.55 min... ;-)

Incredible passion! Brings a tear to the eye. Great live band.
Superb in every element ! Sad , sorry full , forgiving and happy ! What more do you need!
What a band 👏 Nuff said 🏴🏴 xxx
Saw them at the Brixton Academy - very energetic performance and James really does bounce around like that.
I was there! Still got the ticket too. If I remember correctly it cost £21.50 for entry.
I've still got my ticket too! It was a brilliant night. Great memories!

Duck me what a crowd ✊🤘
Asombroso, no había mejor manera de cerrar el siglo y el concierto que con esa canción. Cómo me hubiera gustado estar ahí.
No sé, quizá Cerati cantando _"nada más queda..."_
Class song

Love the crowd. You all are awesome. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Aw thanks 😉 Was there twenty years ago... Seems like ten!!! 😬
@@nattyboyo2404 I wish I was there. Seems like that was a real awesome concert 😊
@@LESRAM1981 You can buy the whole concert on DVD release. You'll get a better view than I did! 😄
Holland - definitely at least an equal to Great Britain! Thanks, from a Yank.
Awww thank you! I was there as well, somewhere at the front. Great night!
Awesome crowd love it
Amazing!!!
SO underrated!
Totally utterly amazing band.
Perfect then. Today, tomorrow & will likely be relevant for years to come.

Amazing tune....stands the test of time....like a rock....❤
holy shit 21 years later it's all real man
Before the crowd saw the whole gig through their phones...
Ha
Time both a blessing and a thief ppl
Omg the girl at 3:51 😍😍😍😍😍
Times like this I wish I was Welsh
Noel Gallagher would sell his soul to write a song half as good as that
Also considering this song was written by a man that said he couldn’t write songs 😂
I'm not a huge Oasis fan but Noel Gallagher has written some gems. My favourite of his is probably Talk Tonight.
A lot of artists you could have called out with a similar comment but Noel Gallagher probably wasn’t the best choice as he’s written some belters
The director of MASH let his son write the lyrics of the song because he was immature, the dad was paid 30 grand for the film his 15 year old son made millions
Love Sean throwing the drumsticks away, wonder if they actually got as far as the crowd.
I was there! 😜
Its remarkable that they all did this with their mates. Fucking wonderful
Wish I was there... I slept in in my 1 room watching TV trying to sleep
brilliant :-)
The original band too
Richey would have approved.
I was there
Eccezzionale. 🎼🎵
Seen the killers and the stereophonics recently and I am seeing these guys next month. Can't wait. Probably will be the icing on the cake
