Its possible hes used to an older car. at least for me I went from driving my dads 2017 430 to an e92 m3 and the dct shifts and reliability were so rough that by the time i got back in a modern car i just started slapping the hell out of the gearbox. Because the shifts are so smooth and not harsh and frankly boring as hell reletive to the DCT's and the car is probably not old enough to start having issues yet, can pass that to the next owner. So why not just spam everything cuz the car isnt that exciting anyway and the 8speed zf is super reliable and battle tested at this point

Since you have no fear of dying then it doesn't matter. But you'll take out some young family in another car and that matters. But as long as you have the comments here from kids probably in their 20's you'll continue driving like this unfortunately
when you shift with paddles, do you take your foot off brakes and gas and then press again when in gear or does it not matter? Like when you want to down shift or upshift your foot isnt on gas or brakes right
