Brings me back to the Burnout PSP days, can't wait to get my hands on this!
This looks like one of the best optimized racer ports on switch yet. I've been rather disappointed with most racers that hit switch proceeding Fast RMX tbh.
Grid Autosport was also another good port of a racer on Switch. It even analog trigger support through the GameCube controller and a low graphics mode that aims for 60 as well as one capped at 30 as a way to save battery life in handheld.

Glad you're back in action Gabe, Nice intro btw & I'm really glad you showed hand held mode, textures are okay, a little bland, but it's old, however that's not the focus. Looks pretty solid over all despite the games age.
I’m a huge fan of FORZA Horizon. And this is the closest game to that imo. So I’m super pumped for this

Welcome back Gabe! I loved and played NFS Underground and NFS Most Wanted (2012) like crazy, and every time i checked forums, videos or articles about them Burnout Paradise was mentioned as it's big influence and sometimes even as the ultimate open world racing game. But i never got around to play Burnout Paradise, because it was on none of the consoles i bought, so this being on Switch now makes me super happy. I can finally check where all my beloved open world racing games were comming from, thanks for the review.
Now I definitely have to pick this up on Switch. Absolutely love Burnout 2 on Gamecube, and still play it from time to time. Much love, Gabe.

As someone that played this on Xbox 360 religiously as a teen, I was super excited to hear about this release! Burnout Paradise was one of my favorite racing games, but the price makes me pause. Probably won’t pick this up until it’s under $30. I love it, and it brings back a lot of nostalgia for me, but I can’t justify spending that amount of money on it.
I might just subscribe again when this guy is here now

Bought and played this on the switch already and I got to say I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a racing games because the switch lacks these types of games
How is it?
Burnout runs really really smooth and it looks great 👍🏻. If your thinking of getting it I recommend it. It’s also a lot of fun because of the dlc you get with the game.
It’s fantastic. I’m not a diehard racing fan so I only need one good arcade racer on Switch, and this is the best one I could have hoped for.

@@PTWPete The reason is because it costs quite a bit of time and resources to port these games to Switch. I'm not justifying the price but there's your reasoning. As Taylor said Walmart will have the game for $39.97.

I'm not saying it should cost $5, but I am saying they're out of their mind if they think the time and effort put into this port equates to charging more than $30.
Furthermore the elasticity of demand for this title should be such that dropping the price by $20 would likely see an increase in revenue.
I completely understand you're point about time and effort put in, and I think the team that puts in the work deserves to have their product marketed at a price where it might actually move.
Still nice to see strong ports on switch, the last month has seen some real powerhouses. 👍

I got it yesterday and I love it. Just like how I remember it. Every once in a while the frames may drop online or it could just be grab but it runs so smooth. However the price is high I still recommend

Just got my 3rd of 3 Platinums (NA Version of the Remaster) in Burnout Paradise... I'm glad to see it runs and looks good enough in Handheld cause I'm about to spend like $180 to get it all going (Australian Dollars, I don't have a Controller for my Switch either atm and for Portability I'm gonna need to buy Joy-Cons which cost $120 ALONE) guess I know what I'm picking up on the way home from Work today 😂

i should probably mention that the pc version is not optimized at all. almost everyone has issues where the game crashes on the title screen, loading, the pause menus and junkyards. the switch is much more optimized, the version after the pc release

Frame rate wasn't a surprise to me, because it's 60fps on the xbox 360

This game is great, very recommended. I played it on the PS3 daily with my brothers back in the day. You'll be the only one to decide whether the price is too high for you, because this is a 60$ value, it's just that the game in other consoles is already cheap

I played it too on the PS3 and I think what you get is really worth the price. I preordered it as soon as I could on Nintendo switch and I don’t regret it at all.
Been waiting for a great Arcade Racer for Switch. This is absolute blast of a game. I never played it on PS3 and xbox360 and have it on switch now best Arcade Racer I would say today even for a 12 year old game . Worth my £40! Going to keep me entertained for hours!!! Especially when Mrs wants to watch something she loves on Netflix I don't I can play this on sofa with my headphones in is perfect! As Gabe says best thing about Switch is still it's portability
I was definitely thinking about buying this I was almost sold on it but then I looked on the PlayStation Store and honestly you can pay $5 for EA access and get 20 to 30 games I get that it's portable and yes definitely want a nice portable racing switch game but I'll wait until it goes on sale for now I'll just play it on the PlayStation 4 also if you don't want the EA for $5 a month you can get it for $13 the whole game not worth the over switch price should have been released at $30 then I would have bought no questions asked for the portability aspect
Lol it’s at 900 on dock but the only problem is the color tone and night time especially if using hdr settings on the tv lol I loved the mug shot option back in the day :)
I got this today as a managed to get £10 off it. It’s fantastic and easily the best racer on Switch now. Bikes are awesome !!

burnout paradise is optimized pretty darn good. My potato can even run it which is awesome.
They messed the pc port up a bit. You have to manually mod it to have it load consistently. 😅

I usually can’t see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS. I sure can’t tell this game 60 FPS either, but I can definitely tell it’s Very smooth.
perhaps you cant tell the difference because your display is locked to 30hz? the difference is huge.

It’s in my opinion really worth the high price tag and you should pick it up. There is so much to do in the game.

I was sceptical for this. But i head for the shoping center, to the electricity store name Power. And i got this game, and iam not regret it. I played this back in xbox 360 era. And love it then, still love the game. Most inportend for me, i have Burnout paradise to go With the fantastic Nintendo switch. Yes the Price was High. 50$/ 499kr. 40$ will be better price for the game. And i got Burnout paradise Physical. Like that way better.

I would prefer it to only cost 40€.... But! I own it on ps3, ps4 and pc. I want it on switch too.
No games are playing in native 4K on PS4 or XBX it's called checkerboard rendering
The only issue I have with this running at 60 fps is the brightness. Graphics look dull when you're in shadows, and you can barely see in night time. It is either too bright or too dark, I don't like that. I'd rather it runs at 30 fps but with better illumination, the game itself has a lot of contrast already.
There’s an in game brightness and contrast slider. Have you tried tweaking those? I had the same problem but tweaked those and now it looks much better.

Finally a Burnout game back on Nintendo consoles. Been waiting since Burnout on OG DS--(Burnout Legends)-. Before that GAMEUBE: Burnout and Burnout 2.(loved these games especially BURNOUT 2 ..that was my fave!)

In tech years, Mario is ancient and this game is old as hell.
Burnout is a new series, burnout paradise is an older game that got the “remastered” treatment this generation that’s now on Switch so the “remastered” version isn’t “that” old.

and exactly this makes the switch my favorite platform. the coolest games from then remasterd or from now all in one box. They bridge the gap or are bridging the gap between portable and home.
Like 95% of today's games don't get a Switch version.
How do you get to the settings menu? I can't find it anywhere:/ On the pc you just hit the esc button but there's no equivalent (as far as i can tell) for the Switch?
For games on switch remember its 5 dollars for the game and 45 dollars for the portability. Yes you can buy these games cheaper on xbox and ps4 but you dont have the portability. Remember that when you buy your next 2009 game for 50 bucks.

I would hope it’s 60 FPS, this game is old as hell and they ported newer games. I would of preferred Burnout revenge but I’m not in the market to buy this anyways. Hope some people can experience burnout before it died now and turned to Need for Speed.

Yes but you need a constant and good internet connection. You can play this offline wherever you like on Switch. That’s the USP.
