No paint sprayer!
Is your Festool new? Which one did you decide on? I have a Surfprep and must be the only person that doesn’t love it. I’ve been looking at the Festools.
Hello, can I ask why you don’t like the Surf prep? I am wanting to be either a Surf prep or Festool but can’t decide
First I want to make clear that it’s a great sander for finishing and the issues I have with mine might possibly be operator (me) error.
As a finishing sander it takes way too long to sand through old finishes. I typically switch to my DeWalt for intensive sanding. It tends to jerk around at times so I have to recalibrate it frequently. My biggest grief, however, is that no matter what I do, I can’t avoid pigtail swirls. I’ve consulted with their customer care personnel (very friendly people), have watched numerous videos, change my pads regularly, sand through the grits, use light to no pressure and have even changed the backup and interface pads two times in two years etc and I still get the swirls. I really want to like my Surfprep but I’m on the fence. And maybe it’s just my particular one?
