Mitch Starc is the best bowler of this era....... He's really the best........ And I love his action...... It's beautiful✨✨ I really want to Achieve that bowling action..... Though I'm a right handed bowler but still, I'll do it and I'm determined at that
Tried doing this today and honestly generated a lot more pace with keeping my arm high and dropping it a lot earlier and having my bowling hand come in late. Felt so much better also, it wasn't just me rolling my arm over. Doing this worked really well at first but towards the end of my session when I began to get tired my bowling arm began to slightly come a little slingy(side on) and so I had to make sure it was straight a lot of the time to make that catapult effect. Thank you for this.
Mastachops Hey mate! That’s amazing to hear! It can take a while to master, there’s also a few cues you can think off. If you’re a left arm bowler like Starc. You could think about driving the left shoulder forward and let the arm come through after. So the chest and shoulder drives before the arm creating a delay.
@@TheFastBowler Thank you, I will try and give it a shot at practice on Thursday, however I genuinely think it will be really hard to learn ofc. Also do you happen to review peoples actions, never had a coach always asked people around for help and no one is ever really committed to helping and everyone seems to give different advice and I am not sure who and what to listen to anymore.

Sir am bowling a lot no bowls by over stepping the line...am having a lot of pace but all the pace comes from my sholder...i want to improve my run up and and get that pace from my run up...any tips
Hey mate, you'll need to correct your runup and Id suggest starting from fresh and work out a new run-up. Ive got another video on my channel that discusses the runup you can watch. You'll also need to work out where you have to 'jump' from to ensure you land behind the line. You could think about 'toeing' the line which is a common practice method. It also helps when theres an umpire standing the usual position when bowling at training
With accuracy it acts like a target - aim at where you want to bowl and reach out. With bowling arm delay, if you focus on pulling the front arm in, without at the same time trying to sling the bowling arm over you'll create a delay which will speed up the bowling arm. The key is the timing
Ahsan Saleem Thats to specific you say mate. But as a general rule you want the bowling arm to be below the shoulder (below parallel) as the front foot contacts/collided with the ground.
@@TheFastBowler I don't mean that. When you put you arm over its tilted when should you make it not tilt? Close to the point of release or when your arms at its lowest point
Ahsan Saleem Tilt doesn’t make any sense. You would ‘actively’ accelerate your bowling arm after the front leg has collided, the chest has driven forward. Then you would focus on accelerating the arm.
It's not so much a matter of trying to delay the bowling arm. The real speed comes from the difference between the angle of the hip and the angle of the shoulders. Increase the distance between those angles and the bowling arm will be naturally delayed. Baseball pitchers train this. Improve mobility, strengthen the core.
That’s hip shoulder separation, and is only one component of speed. Be mindful you don’t condense speed down to just one variable as research has long shown there’s associations between speed and a number of kinematic variables.
@@TheFastBowler Yes it's just one component, but it's probably the biggest component, and the key in delaying the bowling arm from coming over too early.
@@jugheadsrule That’s probably a better way of communicating it. Our language is very important, if we say delaying the arm is not so much the matter. Then bowlers might get the wrong idea and work on hip shoulder separation. But if they have no delay it won’t make a difference. They’ll bowl slower. So it’s important to give the overall context and explain where it all fits in. If you can separate well, and then time the sequential acceleration of each segment: rear leg hip drive, right shoulder driving, bowling arm delaying and snapping, wrist/fingers. Then we’ll build up our potential for speed. But if you get hip shoulder separation, but the bowling arm has already driven forward, it won’t make a difference.
My suggestion is looser until its time to powerfully drive the arm through. That time is after your chest has driven forward creating the bowling arm delay. Most bowlers try and speed the arm up too early to they miss out on the arm delay. If you stiffen the arm up too early it wont be able to accelerate is quickly as it'll be too stiff.
Plenty, but I haven’t posted any publicly as drills are only as good as they’re coached. So sharing them without actually coaching the person through them wouldn’t make them very effective
@@umar3015 Thats what coaching is for. A coach will develop their knowledge and ability and develop their coaching method. You can't write a coaching method into a RUclips comment. If i was looking to find the next 160kph bowler, Id be looking for someone with hyperextension. Its a legal anthropometry advantage. Essentially you have another lever to develop speed and accelerate through.
