The past often informs the present.
If you left city limits between five and ten years ago and just pulled back into town, you’d be in for a dramatic homecoming.

We stand up for the community. We want to make life better for everyone. We celebrate all that makes West Michigan unique. We are 13 ON YOUR SIDE.
Our city leaders have lost sight of what this town is. We have lake front property with very little public access, mostly homes or condos with loads of boat slips. Commercial and industrial is the name of the tax game. We have a gem of a lake that is the key to the future.
My hometown Love it here. 🙏❤️🙏
Great reporting...Muskegon is a great city its good to see it recover
It's only going to get harder for the lower income people that live here. Where do they go? We will end up like CA... Tents lining the streets downtown and surrounding areas. The growth needs to include housing for lower income people, not just the well off.
What City? there is no City, they destroyed it long ago
@@katypalmer9871 they can stay on the east side of US 31
More housing for rich people
Exactly.... What about the lower income people? There are more homeless people now more than ever. What happens to them?
@@katypalmer9871people in this town are homeless because of their drug addictions not the rent
With everything sky rocking everyone is going to come to Muskegon.
😂😂😂
It has changed, I feel like a stranger there, but I don't think they are leap froging it has taken them more than 60 years of my life to tear it down first.
Empty majority of lots in my old neighborhood remain after 55 years when Urban Renewal tore them down. My mother was very afraid they were going to take our house.
Tearable
Stop putting up these houses that are so close together and to expensive. Make the rent reasonable for those who work and with children can get a decent home without skyrocketing rents and prices. Let be RIGHT not MONEY HUNGER! Stop making it all about the MONEY. Praying that people will be right and do the right things.
Why do you have a problem with them building tight communities?
What ever happened to more jobs? What ever happened about the floating casino idea?
They never want to show the heights, just saying
A city with no good jobs and filled with drugs...they forgot to mention that part....
Is Mickey d’s still considered a good job there ?
I'm not yet impressed and I'm still waiting for the businesses to return there is no reason to even go downtown.
Come to Grand Rapids 🔥
What business left?
@@kobe5829 All of them
Slow the condo growth let grand haven have them
Muskegon doesn’t care about the residents.
