Russian Army MRE (Made in Crimea) IRP 24-Hour Ration | Federation Military Meal Ready To Eat Review

  • This field ration was produced by 'Friendship of Peoples' in the Republic of Crimea for use by the Russian Federation. The Russian Military IRP is an Individual Food Ration meant to sustain a single soldier for a full 24-hour period. I regularly review MREs from all over the world, and I must say, this Meal Ready to Eat was one of the best ever. I don't know if these meal kits are being used in regular Russian service or not, but whoever is issued these combat rations is eating very well.

The apple jam looks similar to apple butter we can buy where I live. Its dark and not transparent. It always has cinnamon in it though so you don't get as much apple flavor as I would like, but great in the fall. I've had some transparent apple jelly and I LOVE that stuff.

The fruit bar, based on the small seeds mixed in, probably has a (major) fig component to it.
And that Russian-style apple jam gets as close to apple butter as possible without crossing the line.

If you still insists on using the fuel tabs please use them out side. The fumes can be very toxic, Esbit tabs are bad but less in mind where these are made! It is amazing how good the food is in the rations! The US could learn something possibly cut back on the amount of preservatives used in making our MRE's. But if. The preservatives are cut back the MRE will not last 10 to 15 years.

Hilarious a ration assembled in the Crimea get's to a ration reviewer when the troops in Crimea can't them on a regular basis, just another quirk of the russian logistical system that's all going to plan. Also be careful of Russian fuel tabs they are made to a loose standard and some can be toxic.

In Russia, it has always been the case that beautiful things are sent abroad for display, which they do not really have. In the case of this MRE, it is relatively certain that you will not see such foods in Russia.
Things like "Pokazukha" and "Potemkin Village" have always been favorites in Russia. Both basically mean "external brilliance with nothing behind it." It means that things seem many times more beautiful than they really are to other people. This food belongs to the "Foreigners, be jealous of Russian" propaganda. But it's all a big lie...
Edit. I'm pretty sure no regular soldier has ever seen it.

You're a big liar. Firstly, there are quite a lot of manufacturers of individual diets in Russia, and if such a diet is packaged in camouflage packaging, this does not mean at all that it is supplied to the army, it may just be a marketing ploy.Secondly, if you think that everything is bad with food in Russia, then you have been brainwashed by Western propaganda. There are a lot more natural products in Russia than in the West, especially within the framework of affordable prices in stores.

But I was deeply offended that he did this taste test in the happy, chipper way he did.
Does he know that most of the Ukrainians in Crimea have been ethnically cleansed to Siberia.
That Ukrainian owned farms in Crimea have been given to well-connected russians.
That russians have murdered 10s of thousands of Ukrainian civilians.
That the Ukrainian military has lost more than 100,000 soldiers defending their own country.
That Ukrainian Women and Girls as young as 12 have been rounded up in their 1000s and gang [redacted] by russian soldiers.
That there are multiple videos of russian soldiers executing Ukrainian soldiers who have surrendered.
The guy is either stupid, ignorant, or thinks the sun shines out of putins [redacted].
If he removes the video or re-edits it with a strong criticism of russia's actions in Ukraine or apologises, I'll resubscribe.
