      The interview wasn't supposed to be about Mackenzie, it was scheduled long before Mac decided to drop her bomb about the incest, for the purpose of promoting her new album. Mackenzie knew she was right in the middle of doing album promotion and apparently couldn't have the courtesy to wait a few weeks, after having waited decades, to drop this news on us. Very poor timing on her part, Chynna was making the best of a bad situation. It came off looking like she was trying to steal the spotlight from Chynna, with some shocking news. This is a perfect example of why the family doesn't want to deal with Mac. Like most drug addicts, past and present, there's always drama and it's always all about her.

      That's right Peter. People don't want to believe that this goes on. My father molested daughters in two families where the children called him Dad. He denied it, called them mad, called them alcoholics, lesbians, shamed them as "sluts". What do we call men like this? That's right, there isn't a word for them. They call women whores, sluts, bitches, nuts.... God sees all. He sees you Peter, a man that tells the truth. Many men and women hide from the truth. Being sexually abused by a parent cuts your brain. Who can you trust? I became an outcast, I watched peers interact while I guessed my way through many situations. I didn't trust anyone and I certainly didn't trust myself. I could go on and on. Suicides, drug abuse, alcohol, prostitution, hatred of men, anger, depression, it ages you, lonely life. Thankyou Dad.
      Thankyou God for your son who found me, who I found willing to heal me.

      @@Almost_Famous_Ryan Evidence? But what evidence can there be? It's simply a matter of believing Mackenzie or not and you'd really wonder why anyone would lie about it. I think it's very strange to lie about an incestuous relationship that lasted 10 years, that's a very long time. Also, if she were lying then surely something in what she says wouldn't ring true. The number of people believing something doesn't make it true or not - people believe according to their inclinations and a lot of people cannot handle the truth because it's so awful. My goodness, so many people believe in this pandemic and it's completely fake - it's 100% fake. They also believe in the jab and yet it's causing death and injury. It's unconscionable what's going on.

    • @Almost_Famous_Ryan
      @Almost_Famous_Ryan 2 года назад +9

      @@100pcRenewables It doesn't ring true to me, at all. It's fairly difficult to have a 10 year relationship without anybody else noticing, including two of Mackenzie's husbands and one of John's wives. Why wait 8 years after his death to release the book and irreparably destroy his reputation? She would've been age 19 to 29 during the relationship. In my eyes, if it happened, she was over the age of consent and was as responsible as he was. If I was a member of the Phillips family, I wouldn't ever forgive her. Evidence definitely matters. Passing judgement based on a sole person's story means that you could potentially condemn an innocent person based on the word of a deluded nutcase or a convincing liar.

    I was sexually molested from the time I was a baby till I was 10 years old, my grandpa, my mom’s dad, also assaulted my two younger sisters and several of their friends. My parents left us with a bad man to babysit us when I was 5 or 6, he not only molested me but swore he would come back and kill me and all of my family if I told, a month after that bad man, Ron Smith got me, I was with my mom while she helped a lady who worked with my dad move, I was sitting in a corner, quietly playing and I heard my mom & this woman discussing how Ron was a rapist, a few years later, during a backyard BBQ, my parents discussed how Ron was going to prison for raping a young girl, I was in shock. Later, when I was 13, my own father drunkenly tried to rape me, I didn’t know my mom knew until I was almost 50, so when I read Mackenzies book, I believed her.

    I just watched this interview and I need to correct somethings said on this site by so many. First of all, Chynna is not a "wanna-be." She was a member of the band Wilson Phillips which was extremely poplar in the 90's. Give this band's music a listen. She is very talented. Also, she was NOT saying incest was God's plan. The interviewe'rs question was regarding her sister's book and Chynna's CD coming out at the same time. She was saying it was God's plan that the book and CD came out at the same time, and she has not resentment about her sister's book overshadowing her CD. Also, many artists sing songs during interviews. Did anyone really listen to the WORDS of her song?? She is talking about being a godly person despite being wronged by others. It is a good principle to teach. Plus, it must have been really frustrating to come on a show to talk about your new CD, and all the interviewer wants to talk about is her sister's incest and the book. I have watched other shows promise to talk about the interviewee's intestests, but it is just a ploy to get them on a show to ask about scandel. I am confident this show's producers promised her she could sing on the show, because he was not at all surprised or shocked by her singing. So, let's be kinder to someone who is obivously very supportive of her sister, but who also has her own interests and talents.

      stuckIN801 Smart in terms of being opportunistic, perhaps, but very un-classy to plug her album with respect to her sister being raped, especially considering that an allegedly Christian person wouldn't take advantage of her sister's rape to promote an album.

      Geo Lew I think she just brought Jesus into it to grab some of the Christian audience. She clearly doesn't know shit about Christianity besides the fact that if you say, "Jesus had a plan", bible thumpers from the south and Midwest will stir. Sure she respects her sister and what allegedly happened to her, but she is there for a reason and that's not to talk about her sisters misfortune Although you're correct that that's probably the only reason she got a spot on the program.

    For everyone so hard on Chyna, keep in mind, these interviews were scheduled as part of a promotional tour beforehand. I would have probably cancelled my tour, maybe even tried to delay the release of my album so I could promote it later, but for all I know, she could have signed a contract that bound her to do the interviews. (Music producers would have probably insisted she did because of the publicity surrounding Mackenzie's book.)
    On top of that, let's remember that Chyna Phillips didn't call Mackenzie a liar, even though most of the family did.

    It is mostly people in a position of trust who violate children and young adults.
    I'll always remember when McKenzie first reported publicly the incest she suffered.
    It encouraged a lot of survivors to come forward, rather than suffer in silence.
    The song Chynna sings is a rallying cry to recover from any wounds we've suffered, by
    caring for those wounds. Hating those who've hurt us and wanting to hurt them makes it worse.
    Jesus prayed for His enemies that we'd do the same, even for those who were supposed to love us.
    But somehow, we have to get the pain and hurt out in ways that can help us care for our wounds.
    And if possible, testify against those responsible to keep them from harming others. The US needs to
    lift the statute of limitations in these cases as other countries are doing because of the insidiousness of incest,
    or any crimes against children and young adults under the age of 17, who are all too often taken advantage of.

Why shouldn't she promote something she's proud of and worked hard on? The fact that she shared HER lime light to shed some of it on her sister's struggle was commendable. That's how I view it. She counts just as much as her sister. And vice versa. Her successes shouldn't forever be shadowed simply bc her sister has downfalls.
      If that's the case, ONLY spend time with those u know who are troubled and never do anything that aims towards self worth.

      Yes it was appropriate for her to sing. On the other hand, was it appropriate for her to have to talk in the interview to promote her new album, about her sister's experience? The lyrics of the song are appropriate. She loves and supports her sister. She could have said No not talking about that I'm just here for my music. What is inappropriate are all the comments dissing her.

      Stfu. They didn't know about it until she wrote a book about it and confessed on Oprah. She wasn't a child. She was 19 when it happened. It was the night before her wedding and she didn't tell her husband. In fact they continued that relationship for a decade and continued to cheat and betray her husband. Both 1st and 2nd husband. It got consensual after the first few encounters. And she's the victim.? She comes out after her father died and can't verify it. We only have her word. The whole thing is messed up.

      Kiowa Girl, I left the Bible Belt years ago and went to a place where I was no longer being fed the same dogma over and over from the same people, and actually had an opportunity to view life, and questions about life, from many different perspectives -- not having the same answers (and non-answers) constantly hammered into my head to the point of being brainwashed. It was a process that took years, but ultimately I escaped the imprisonment of fundamentalist Christianity and came to the conclusion that all that church dogma I had been fed for years was BS. Now I have to search longer and work harder for answers to difficult questions (e.g., seeking to understand the revelations of science, archeology, psychology, etc.) rather than have simple answers spoonfed to me. I don't accept that there's this insecure god in the sky who acts like a spoiled brat in a sandbox, who says play with me and I'll give you a toy; don't play with me and I'll throw sand in your face. I'm now way beyond being threatened with hell and bribed with heaven. I spent a long time reading the Bible, and it's actually from reading the Bible (reading it objectively) that I was put on the pathway to becoming agnostic.

    • @tonyahthompson3266
      @tonyahthompson3266 6 лет назад +10

      MrVidaeverdade, I understand and respect your answer. I, too, came from a place where you accept, but don't really understand. And THAT isn't God at all. But, I did learn (after a long period of time) that by reading on my own and talking w/ the REAL God on my own, that God is FAR from what man/woman interprets Him to be. And if you've spend A LOT of time reading the Bible, I think I can say w/ confidence, you're intelligent. And of course, we all do have a choice to decide how we believe, but I, like you, didn't want the God you described either, and I, too, went through that extra effort of learning how the world works. And learning about science and archaeology (which by the way I love), and psychology, is just a way to take the blinders off like EVERY human should. But by taking those blinders off, I learned it's okay to know about nature around you w/o excluding God. I appreciate and respect the sciences, archaeology, and the like. I just include them to know, that there is A LOT about God I don't know. So, I simply refuse to put God into a box like "religion" has a tendency to do. When I wanted to know God, I wanted to know GOD! I didn't want to know what I had been taught, because that only drove me away. So, I've reserved myself to learn about life, the world, and still not let go of God. It's through that, that I've found out who God REALLY is. It is refreshing to speak to a real "thinking" person! Have a great day.
