This was SO MUCH FUN . :-) I can’t stop smiling over that conversation with the Rala crew & their expressions and laughter when you shared the clip. And thanks so much for sharing about my bikepacking adventures here too!
As many sailing channels as there are, it’s nice to see people going to places others haven’t really showcased… it’s a big, beautiful world and I’m working towards seeing my share of it soon.
Like your windows on the front of the dodger. I love when you say that you only have a receiver and the girls look at each other, as if to say, what's he doing. 🙂
I spent a lot of my early childhood on the Hauraki Gulf. It’s a beautiful place and watching this makes me want to sail there again. I hope you enjoy NZ
Hey James you need to learn all the slang! Like get in the queue for the loo! I was in Hawaii at the marina that you were towed into when you did the solo run from California to Oahu and would have liked to have seen your boat but left the day before you arrived. Truly enjoy your adventures. Keep going
Good story. I'm still hoping you venture out of the Hauraki Gulf and explore some more of the coast. Few of the sailing channels do. There are other (maybe better) cruising grounds, like Marlborough Sounds and Fiordland, just with some long exposed stretches between. About 3 years ago Sailing Taranto posted some clips, worth checking out.
Hi, Are you still in the Hauraki Gulf? I'm going on a sailing trip with my son from 22 to 25 November. It would be cool to find you and Triteia. We are based at Shelly Park near Cockle Bay.
@@SailorJames Stopping East Coast of Australia? I'm a kiwi but in Brisbane, Queensland. Moreton Bay is my sailing bay. Stunning, especially the island.
kudos for an interesting and entertaining conversation on SY Rala
Edna the bike lady! I started following her channel recently when she did an amazing Canada to Mexico west coast ride.
That's one handsome boat @ 7:00
what a fun story!
"my place of calm" this is what I refer to your videos as.
One day, one day...........…...

Great video James, thanks for sharing
Omg what are the odds!!! So cool.
Cheers James for another great episode 👍
From a Kiwi, your pronunciation of Maori names is on point James. It shows the respect you have for the local culture.
Kia Ora bro. Your sailing journey is so inspiring. If your sail down to South Island, come to windy welly, I’ll be happy to meet you🌿

Cool
amazing - not a boat indeed !
You should try fish fingers and gravy.
After converting your stove and oven to electric, are you happy with it?
I haven't seen a follow up.
Cheers!
Yep 100% zero complaints, I would never go back to any other galley type
That’s like a needle in a hay stack kind of situation how does that happen 😂
Haha ❤
Where do you plan on sailing once you leave New Zealand?
2024 will be Tasmania, Australia (east coast) and Southeast Asia
