Nirvana stole their thunder but tbh this what Nirvana was really trying to get back to after nevermind However Mudhoney was in the sweet spot in terms of success. They weren’t super duper famous but they still were able to maintain their success continued touring with Pearl Jam and they kept their base strong. They’re underground heroes.
You've just made an old man very happy ! I've prayed for footage of this song for many years. The true grunge anthem. For the record im about 10 rows back in that glorious mess ! Happy days indeed. THANK YOU.
I wasn't too far from you then. It was very wet and very muddy. Seem to remember Mudhoney stopping in the middle of one song to start chucking all the mud back at the crowd after it splattered one of their guitars!!!
@@tapperbot Some magic ( but very hazy) memories alright, Sydney was a great place back then, great local gigs every week, The Hoey, The Annandale, The Landsdown, Vic On The Park etc plus all the big international shows, great stuff!
@@JSHbproductions Nirvana's performance at reading was fantastic, I don't see how mudhoney's performance could steal the show, even though their performance was amazing too. Really both performances are great.
Jesus...they sound fucking incredible here. I can't believe how great your VHS copy sounds on RUclips. This is a gift. Thank you. Also, the fact that Mudhoney never got the same attention as some of the other Seattle bands is a friggin' shame.
Mudhoney at the BBC album has a live version with the third verse, "14 years old, got you in my tent, gonna take you home and make you pay my rent" Greatest lyric ever? You tell me... (that version is on RUclips)
this defined the 88 "Grunge" sound, 'Helot' by Tad the next year, and even though In Bloom is my favorite, we all know SLTS took the torch from there on
I was there and it was as awesome as it looks - L7 (Donita and her tampon) and these guys - how the buggery bollocks they weren't headlining is beyond me, blew Nirvana clean away any day
Got it back in the early 90's from a friend & tape trader who had loads of live band footage on VHS, not sure how he was able to get this pro-shot time stamped video from the Reading Fest though, it's quality stuff!
Mud honey was so underrated. They went full force on every album, show, and they were always awesome live.
theyre still around :)
@@albo3musicjust saw them 2 nights ago in Detroit 🤘🏽super nice and humble group of guys
Dude They stars of grunge! )
Fr they deserved to play at Woodstock 94

@Michael South No at all but it brought back some very fond memories 😁
@@johnlowe9826 'If I think' it's on RUclips as well. Matt Lukins comment "It's all fun and games until a beer gets spilled" cracked me up 😂
They are playing at Rock City.

Man, there is nothing like that anymore, can we go back in time to 1992, pretty please??
Damn, almost 31 years later and this still actually sounds incredible

Not only was I lucky enough to be there but this could well be their best perfomance of all time
I’ve heard that they stole the whole show from nirvana, is this true ?

Fking Dan Peters is a punk drumming monster
I hope not. So, how long is your hair? Have you wore a suit? Now pick up your instrument.
I would rather listen to Billy Eilish🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣How sh*t were the the Arctic Monkeys at this years festival btw?
Boo
I don’t like the tempo here. It feels like they’re rushing through the song.
