Mudhoney - Suck You Dry / Hate The Police @ Reading Festival, UK - 08.30.1992
Also on bill: Nirvana, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Teenage Fanclub, L7, Pavement, Beastie Boys, Screaming Trees & Melvins. - Видеоклипы
One of the best band to ever fucking exist. I saw them the same year with Primus, Sonic Youth and Pavement. Unreal. I now live in Seattle and see Dan regularly at our local grocery store. Nicest dude ever, and he's rock royalty in my opinion.
Absolutely blew Nirvana off stage.
'Touch me,i'm sick' is the true grunge anthem.
Before i get shot down i love Nirvana, just a realist :0)
I was there. Yep, this IS the Seattle sound. It was for me anyway.
***** Just mine and many others opinion thats all. Lucky enough to see Nirvana in 1990 and 1991 BEFORE kurt was totally messed up. Dave Grohl is holding the whole thing together in 1992, i wished it would be great but it wasn't.
When Nirvana finally came on stage, the wind was so strong the sound was probably better in the centre of Reading than in the field tbh... Mudhoney stole the say with L7 a close second
johnesmoke1401 , not to me, in my opinion Nirvana was better, but i still like Mudhoney
Your music library sucks too!!
Viva eternamente Mudhoney!!!!
I cant believe that on the Earth still are people that think that this is Kurt Cobain
Hahahahah
Casuals I guess would think that lol
That's not Kurt Cobain?
@@mr.roberto2709 no that's young Donal Trump
@@lasyanka7821 wow young donald was handsome 😮
I saw Mudhoney a lot of times back in the early 90's and they were always great. Saw Nirvana, Soundgarden, AIC, all of the Seatltle bands, all fucking awesome in their own way!!
Damn dude...much respect...
I saw them in early 90's in a bar in Omaha, Nebraska. Great times!!!
I was right down the front for this!!! Thanks for uploading!!!
16 year old me somewhere in there. 🎉
Saw them a year ago today. Best concert of my life
I was there... They were bloody fantastic... The line up was epic... It was cold ... It was muddy... No honey sadly
i was there too...best band
I stood in that pissing rain all day too - well worth it 🤘🏻
Me too ✋
man...how awesome that would have been...
I was there too, aged 20! It was an absolute mudbath!
what I would give to go back in time and be there! Mudhoney were best of bunch in Seattle IMO
Man oh man. I just saw them last night at the Georgetown free carnival and they were as good as ever! I was blown away!
Two of my faves of 'em!
Ahh, those were the days...
Thanks for uploading.
Thank you for the greatest day out of my entire youth, you were fucking amazing!!

Quality upgrade! Hell yeah!
Brutal!!

Mudhoney are already amazing on their own, then go on to cover the Dicks, they were just too fucking amazing to be accepted by the masses.

Suck you Dry was the song where i entered my first mosh pit!!
i was there, it was good.
Was here....and i saw them 2 days ago in Byron Bay. Had to show young uns how to mosh..but it was grest. Mudhoney 23..go see.
Fucking awesome
I was really narked when whoever was in charge had decided that because Nirvana were suffering a UK chart hit that they should headline. I took it as an insult, the fact that Mudhoney were only the support band. It " was " hilarious when K.C. fell off the edge of the stage during one of Nirvanas` songs!!!!!!!! I did like the theatre gown joke & Kurt`s zimmer frame entrance. But after their gig, I still felt really miffed when the show was over.
Even though both bands were good friends growing up together, both spearheading the Seattle sound.
I think Mudhoney had more to say than Nirvana. They were definitely more proficient & weren`t as egotistical as Nirvana. They were a more grounded band & for me, were the founder fathers of grunge. They were at the same time, the best a mush pit could get.
But of course, Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it`s just that my opinion just happens to be the right one, .............
............" for me!!!!!!!!!!!!! .......& thousands more, who lean towards, Mudhoney`s legacy!!!!!!! "
Agree with all that, except for Mudhoney having more to say. I think Kurt's lyrics had a much deeper meaning to them regarding social issues of the time. Mark Arm's Lyrics were more jaded love stories. Mud honey are a cracking rock n roll band and I absolutely love them. Soundtrack to my teens.
Totally respect your opinion though, so much so I think we'd be good mates. Long live rock n roll.
@@moz7738 Absolutely!
I don’t think nirvana was very egotistical themselves as in Kurt, Dave, and Krists. But their producers and managers, yeah cause they always changed their sounds and what not so they would “conform” with society even though they really didn’t want to
Grunge rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They all got addicted to Victoria Bitter. They're why I got to see them so much. As they toured with mates bands like tumbleweed andbsuch
Anyone got a better version of this festival? Nirvana have good recorded set!
Unpopular opinion: Mudhoney never went mainstream because of Mark Armstrong’s strangling chicken vocals.
BR LIKE AQUI \O
2:29 Hate The Police
cool! what's guitar Mark Arm is playing?..,
paolo chilardi It looks like a Gibson SG Custom.
Istvanski yep y right! or maybe epiphone g-400 custom,
i was wondering cause in this vid the Mark super fuzz sound come up very loud but clear in the same time respect the classic fender jaguar,
so good!
cheers mate to reply me
Loved Nirvana but their performance wasn't a patch on their '91 appearance. Mudhoney were spectacular on this day and every other time I saw them, never disappointed. Remember the weekend clearly- whatever happened to Rachel Wood?
Before Nirvana, there was mudhoney , before mudhoney there was green river. But who cares it's the noise we drown in. So fuck it
What was the date of this gig ?
:)
Nice new post-SUB POP gear the boys have there, eh?
Mike arm has the best grunge voice. Yeah yeah Layne, Chris, Kurt. I got you. But none were as raw and GRUNGEY as Mike's. Would love to hear your thoughts, if anyone is still watching this video.
Totally agree. In my opinion, Mark's raw and unhinged vocal style is the epitome of what a rock and roll vocalist should sound like.
Umm..his name is MARK Arm. Not Mike. JS.
What're you on about? Not the gear they're playing in this clip. Not if it's from '92. Cobain was still alive then. Was commenting on their obviously new gear (except for Turner) that must've been bought with advance money from Reprise.
far more dangerous and frenetic than the studio versions.
The godfather of grunge ❤️
91???
Pogo in the 135th row
I think they know that they'll never top 92. I don't think that today's bands could compete with the lineup that was on offer that year. Just type in reading 92 on youtube and if you can find one shit band, then you are a very picky person. Pavement, Teenage Fanclub, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, L7, Suede, Melvins, Screaming Trees. Do I need go on?
Was Sensless Things on that lineup?
RIP Kurt....
lol just kidding!
Kurt lives forever!!!
Much better than kobain too. Kobain knew three chords.
hell, after kurt died sub pop gave them that shit.
The only thing I don’t like about this cover of the DICKS is that it ruined any point of any of my bands since to do it. So fuckin good.
Great, this is what reading festival should be. Most of the bands this year where just so boring.
Right handed kart? I did not know Nirvana has a teacher.
This is better that Nirvana!!!!!!!!
no
I was 21, three rows back and wasted. Threw my share of mud. Screamed for 'Hate the Police' the whole damn night. Finally Mark Arm acquiesced, saying they hadn't performed the song for years. Maybe he heard me maybe he didn't. I went fucking ape. Nirvana disappointed. Good times.
Life before Kurt...
I’m pretty sure nirvana was a headliner for this concert
I think lollpalooza 93 was better with primus, Alice in chains,
30years ago, human being was….
Festivale katılacak grupları kurt cobain belirlemişti diye biliyorum
Kurt Cobain is the greatest musician in the history of mudhoney
and by that you mean..?
Is the drummer a man or woman?
+Crazy Horse It's Dan Peters.
+Crazy Horse Dan = man
+TJPenitencia Yeah, I can say that he's definitely a man.. I met him :D
+NEMUR24 I was just wondering because at 3:33 to about 4:15 it looks like he has boobs.
Probably one of the sickest drummers of all time.
