This is the type of review I needed that shows the actual difference for everyday drive
I own a 2018 SXT Plus w/ Super Track Pack, which is what became the Charger GT. The 2020 GT makes 300 hp / 264 ft-lbs (same as my 2018), whereas the base SXT makes 292 hp / 260 ft-lbs from the same engine. A minor difference, yes, but it is a difference. This is because the GT has a true dual exhaust system from the engine and breathes better, whereas the SXT is just a single exhaust branching to a Y-pipe. Plus the GT has an upgraded performance suspension and brakes, and the higher gear ratio on the rear differential. Indeed, a real joy to drive! Plenty enough power for me, and I'm not going to gas stations as often as my Hemi friends need to.

Well said, you should have done the review....a little higher gear makes it just a little quicker off the line.
Actually, a LOWER gear makes the vehicle accelerate quicker, but you lose some top end speed and mpg will be a bit worse.@@eddiebrown687
I also own the 2018 sxt plus.
Pretty impressive for a v6. I recently bought the car. Has cold air intake and one loud muffler. The 8spd tranny is nice. And I have noticed if I turn off traction control it sais sport mode on the dash but I can also go in to the 8in screen and put it in sport mode as well as the steering. I assume both sport modes are the same.
It’s weird how Dodge did the trims. I have a 2018 GT which is what became the SXT AWD.
2k more is an amazing deal. Think about the parts + labor if you bought an SXT and then went out and bought the bumpers, hood, fog lights, grills. Parts alone will exceed 2k and then have a shop paint it? It’s just a no brainer to pay the 2k from factory if your goal was to look like a GT
Just got my 2020 GT and I love it you can’t go wrong with any of the cars the SXT was my first charger and I loved it but the GT is totally worth it... I highly recommend if you can do all the upgrades on it!!!!!

Excellent review. The best I've seen. By the way, launch mode is unavailable until 500 miles on the odometer.
The GT has RT base seats in 2020 version. The SXT base does not have alluminum pedals like the GT you were showing in the video. GT gives you standard paddle shifters, bigger uconnect, and you can option RT SRT Suede leather sport seats.
Not to mention the gt plus, with vented seats and rear seat warmer and navigation. Love it.
I had a 5.7 but I love my gt still quick and sporty

Technically speaking, the Gt does have more hp. Its 305 vs 290 on the sxt. But the difference is really in the tuning of the trans.

I'm on vacation right now and I just rented the 2024 Dodge Charger GT from the airport. I'm definitely putting on the sport mode tomorrow when I get up on the I-95 heading down to Miami for the day from Ft.lauderdale.
I’m In A 2024 GT rental too I just drove it from Tampa to Baton Rouge and back and man I love this car on gas and sportiness
The rear gear differential is more aggresive as well that the SXT.
If you want performance... get the v8. But the gt is a better choice over the sxt. The hellcat body style itself cost over 2k. And the seats are better. Overall the gts 1 up the sxts... but dont mention performance...
I have a 2018 GT. I wish I got the 2020 GT because I like the body kit and hood scoop.
These differences are little details , end of the day they both V6 almost same numbers of HP and torque yea a little more with the GT that is only by 10 horsepower and AWD which I do not really need. Just throw winter tires and will be doing just fine in winter. The real difference you feel in performance is only when upgrading to the higher torque RT HEMI engines.
I recently got good deal on my 2017 charger SXT used with 30k mile on it for $16,500 k same generation same design as the 2020. Mine has sunroof and fog lamps and 8 inch screen which are cool things to have. I only upgraded the headlight to xenon and now looks super bright. NEVER buy these things new because the depreciation is very steep.

Missed the side skirts on the exterior differences. The price differences now are a lot more than 2k but the look of the gt alone is so much better
Alright. So I have an extremely stupid question I’m sure. But on the GT, on the front, there’s that yellow bar around the bottom of both sides…What are those? Because I saw another video that said it says “remove at dealership” on them. I don’t like the yellow bars. Can you take them off?
They are bumper guards for getting on and off the trucks for transport. Remove them when purchasing the vehicle

Is there any issue with the view because of the hood or it’s not a problem. I mean when you are driving and you see that the hood is like a hill in front of you. So is there any issue or not ?
No issue at all, I use it as my daily driver and haven’t found nothing but satisfaction
Do you think the best time to buy a car is when they have the sales? Like holiday sales and stuff.
The sales they advertise are usually all the same, just check the rebates each month and wait for them to get to a few thousand off MSRP
Bought my "Last Call" 2023 GT PLUS about one month ago ( in mid Sept) and saved $5568 compared to the sticker price.
I’m seriously considering buying my first charger soon. I need awd but don’t wanna sacrifice the v8 engine. Any suggestions?
That’s my issue also. I think what I’d do is buy the gt and maybe tune it or add some sort of mod

nah not exactly. a scat’s grill and headlights are different from the GT. the scat’s headlights are what make them really standout

I need to make a video pullin rts in my sxt. People don’t understand what a bigger throttle body, custom exhaust setup, tune, and cold air intake can achieve. I gotta dyno this shit cause it’s fucking around with 370hp rt still n/a.
At the end of the day it’s still a V6 😂😂😂 you might as well get a Altima or Camry if you’re going to get a gt or sxt lmao💯

Mix of both. Put 1792 vibrant resonators at the rear for deeper tone.
If you desire something that sounds good don't buy a fucking six cylinder

The SXT is just perfect... save your money because you can not legally use all of this horse power anyway.

Sure you can. If you meant to say you can't unleash all the power whenever you want, and eclipse the posted speed limit, that's different. If you want to go slow, buy a Smart Car or an older Prius.

Awd on the sxt is way better than the GT. The real only positive is the looks of the srt style but with upgrades on a SXT it’s a way better option especially in the winter.

I got AWD w it fully upgraded on my 2020 GT charger and I live in Colorado and it’s fucking kick ass in the snow and mountains

Still not the best idea to get a gt you can get a used nice rt V8 hemi for about the same price sorry if it’s not a v8 it’s not a real muscle car and I drive the Sxt blacktop Charger.
I don't now, nor have I ever thought of my Charger GT as a "muscle car". I consider it a big, comfortable, great looking daily driver that happens to do high 14s in the 1/4 mile and top out between 130-132 mph. It's damn spunky! It is NOT slow.
They Interior in the Durangos look a lot better.
The interior in my 2023 Charger GT PLUS has a much nicer interior than a non PLUS equipped Charger or Challenger.
