Hybrid Libertarian has a point that few know what engine you have so that doesn't matter. However that Mr. Policeman is less likely to take notice of a 300 is one of the many reasons why I choose a 300, a V8 AWD one. While of course there's faster cars, being stealthy and AWD means I can actually drive faster.
@Hybrid Libertarian With your praise of the interior I'd assume yours is a second gen then? Mine is a '14 and I and apparently most consider the 2011+ interior a big improvement. I think the whole gangster thing has come to really only be applied to the first gen 300 and the Magnum. The 2nd gen IMO has largely avoided that image, not completely and Chrysler using rappers to promote the second gen didn't help, but still. I think it still holds true that outside of how one drives color is the most important thing in avoiding the cops eye. Then sound, then condition, but not just all the aftermarket BS but also if it's run down, damaged, etc. basically if you look like you can't afford car insurance. Followed by the type of car. A well maintained stock grey Charger would do better then a red, riced out, and damaged 300. Mine is Granite and except for mild wheels completely stock in appearance, still quiet, and of course perfectly maintained. The V6, ehh probably usually money, on my sticker the 5.7 is a $2200 bump. Then there's that 15+ AWD is only on with the V6. Plus insurance costs and the 8 speed.
Hey Racer X the seats in the 300 are softer on purpose because it's more a luxury car and thats why the steering is lighter but why the suspension isn't softer....I don't know 😕
Great video @RacerX. I actually watched this before going to look at both cars, and completely agree with you. Ended up going with the 300 because of the seats, larger screen, lighter steering, and smoother feel. Plus, even though it's a dated design, I just prefer the look of the 300 over the Charger.
Have you ever thought that maybe that's just the words he chose to use. Instead of the real names of the colors? I would assume this guy probably knew the real names of the colors.
I know this is an older video and you were discussion these two vehicles with V6 power but I needed to include my feelings and story. I test drove both the Charger RT and the Chrysler 300C. Both with 5.7 Hemi engines. What I discovered was the Charger RT had the better factory exhaust and track apps that the hemi Chrysler doesn't offer. Considering the pricIng, the Black 300C had better styling with 20" rims. I use the look as sinister. It has more comfortable seating than the RT. The 300C had mocha Napa leather seats that's heated/cooled. Heated/Cooled front cup holders and felt more like a Luxury/Sports sedans. The 300C I purchased was a factory demo with 5000 miles. I was able to save over 35% off the $43,500 MSRP. Since the 300C was extremely limited and now discountinued. My deal was fantastic and now with only 19,000 miles. Recently I was offered by the same dealership to buy my car back for what I paid for it. Since it's still under factory warranty and not wanting to lose my warranty. I've added some bolt on parts for performance. A Flow Master performance exhaust, 85mm throttle body, K&N cold air. I visit my local drag strip and run street class bracket racing every other weekend and it fun getting mentioned by the track announcer racing a big Chrysler 300 that's very competitive. My wife's not happy with the loud exhaust, but it's my hobby and I'm extremely happy I selected my 300C. I believe the production of the Chrysler 300 will end completely since the charger and 300 compete against each other. I'm happy I purchased one of the final 300C Hemi
I loved my 2018 300 Touring L! RacerX Yes, the seats were softer than any of the modern cars, actually went from a BMW 325i to the Chrysler 300 because of the seats. If you think those cloth seats are soft, you should sit in one with leather. As for the steering, I found that in my 300 limited I was able to change the steering feel in the Settings application, as I recall there were three settings Comfort, Sport, and Normal... I wonder if the Steering setting in the 300 you tested was set to Comfort. I found in Normal and Sport mode the steering was firmer. I greatly enjoyed your videos! Keep them coming!
A good straight forward, unbiased comparison of the two vehicles. For that, you just got another subscriber, and I’m not even into cars like that. The main difference between the two cars is one is a family sports sedan, the other is a luxury car. As far as what they have to offer for features and options at the base model, you can’t go wrong with either car. But as you can see, the Chrysler 300 gets the nod.
I was hoping you'd pick the 300. Like you said it's going to be sad if they discontinue them. They are very beautiful vehicles and like you said they have two cars that they're dealing with why not just continue the 300. They're freaking awesome looking drivable cars.
Chrysler just announced that they were discontinuing the 300 SRT 392 in Australia so I can't imagine that there's going to be a 300 Hellcat. Though there should be.
@@chris92282 Next time you get an oil change at the dealership. Its this system cleaner they have to clean the engone back to brand new status. It boost the performance and your horsepower. I forgot the name but its well worth it.
The only reason why the 300 exists is to keep the Chrysler brand alive. The only Chryslers that exist besides the 300 are the Town and Country and the SRT 300 sold in Australia. The reason why the SRT version is sold in Australia is because the Charger isn't available there. I lost all interest in the 300 when the SRT was discontinued after the 2014 model year. If it weren't for FCA using the LX platform developed by Mercedes Benz and using what they had on the drawing board for future models, I don't think FCA North America would be very successful. The reason why I'm critical of FCA because they really missed the boat with the 300. The 300 could have been a more refined, high luxury car using the LX platform. If Mopar lovers can get excited about fender flares and placing Hellcat engines in cars that most will probably never be able to afford, I'm sure they would get excited about a 300 that came from the factory with the 392, magnetic ride, decent tires rather than the 245s found on the Scat Pack, carbon fiber, and other luxury features. With Ford and GM getting out of the luxury sedan business, a 300 like I'm suggesting would do very well. Sales would be limited. However, with the mark up on a car like I'm suggesting sales wouldn't need to be that high to justify its own existence. My first car was a Chrysler 300 when it was a luxury performance car. All it is now is a Charger with a different look and sales that don't justify its existence.
Funny thing about this is, the charger will hood its value more and longer than the 300 will - even tho both cars are about the same age in their old platforms
It would be nice if people started buying these cars up that way Chrysler continues to 300. Because from my understanding the sales are down then that's pretty much why they're discontinuing them. Not sure why people are not buying these like crazy. This is a car for everyone Grandma's grandpas motorheads young kids you name it. Very very sad if they discontinue these.
I just bought my ocean blue 2019 300s I love every bit of it. All I did was put 5% all around and one 12 kicker in the trunk 🔥🔥 I like the chargers but everyone has them... I have yet to see the same 300 as mine and I live in Cleveland
I love the outside of the 300. But the interior is outdated. I have a challenger and I was surprised how much cheaper the charger and 300 interior is. I thought the charger has the same exact interior. But alot more hard plastics!
The 300 is classy looking I never driven one so I don’t know how it handles. But the sxt charger handles well, looks sharp, and actually does fairly well in autocross events.

The 300 is a more elegant car the chrome trim and bright silver wheels make the car look like its for a adult were the charger looks good but with all the blacked out trim makes the car look cheaper and for a less mature person I know most people will disagree with me but the black wheels and trim make the car look like it belongs in the honda crowd instead of the house of muscle were it belongs I may be wrong but it's just my humble opinion :)

Great Info X we test drove a challenger GT it was hard and uncomfortable may have to look at a 300
They're selling 300 Touring L with sport appearance package for 25K new here in Vegas
Buy it
A good straight forward, unbiased comparison of the two vehicles.
I traded my 2005 300c for a 2019 300 C, love both but the safety features on the 2019 made my 2005 obsolete.
I wouldn't mind having a V6 300 but couldn't do a "muscle car" Charger with a V6 so id take the 300
Chargers look aggressive while the 300 looks classy and a bit more elegant. That’s why I got myself a 06 300c SRT8!
Well the SRT8 models are both Elegant and Sporty, similar to AMG Cars
I think in the future the Charger is going to look dated. The 300 though has a timeless look that'll always be in style.
I will always go for the Charger

I was hoping you'd pick the 300. Like you said it's going to be sad if they discontinue them. They are very beautiful vehicles and like you said they have two cars that they're dealing with why not just continue the 300. They're freaking awesome looking drivable cars.
Charger. Looks better and you're not shelling out a ton for an analog clock.
But the clock adds ten more HP!
Here from Irving just found your channel and def subscribing keep up the good work!
Steering feel is adjustable on the 300. Normal, sport or comfort
Yes and you actually can feel the difference
If they would put the 392 in the 300 I would have one tomorrow.
that would be a 300 SRT.
@@richardclark5148 Don’t want a 2014. Would be nice to come on up to 2021 since that is where we are.
@@justpray365 They've stopped making them Overseas just recently, so you shouldn't get your Hope's up
@@justpray365 '14 was the peak year for the 300 though. Even without considering the engine, '14 had the most features and unlocked computers.
I wanted an AWD 300C forever(lived in Alaska), I found a unicorn AWD Charger RT and I'm pretty sure I'm happier with it.
I have an AWD 5.7 300C, love it.
Would've been nice to see a 300 Hellcat to compete with the CT6 Blackwing or the last CTS V
Yes.. although I am not expecting them to put a hellcat in the 300.. now the Pacifica maybe lol
@@RacerX9 lol
Go check out Khal_SRT on yt & Instagram he builds them
Chrysler just announced that they were discontinuing the 300 SRT 392 in Australia so I can't imagine that there's going to be a 300 Hellcat. Though there should be.
@@RacerX9 what about the 6.4?
If anyone is interested in having a 300 with a 392/Hellcat Khal_SRT started building them for people
I have a 18’ 300S V-6 and it’s a great car. I thought the car would feel under powered but it’s a very competent car.
I have a 2020. Their nice.
@@93pr3ssure2
I agree. I think the car is an excellent value. 300hp , rear wheel drive, a lot to like.
@@chris92282 Next time you get an oil change at the dealership. Its this system cleaner they have to clean the engone back to brand new status. It boost the performance and your horsepower. I forgot the name but its well worth it.
@@93pr3ssure2
Good to know, I’m taking it in tomorrow for a oil change.
@@chris92282 its about 60 but its worth it. I get over 30 per gal. on the highway.
I have a 2016 300 limited. I love it to death. Yea it the base model but I don’t care. I’m soo happy with it
I enjoyed this 'apples to apples' comparo, which focused on the differences between the 2 cars comparably priced with identical powertrains. :))
The 300s looks more boss. I really hope they redesign the 300.

I’d highly recommend that you test drive a 300s. There is a noticeable difference. I daily a 2018:
Nice video and comparison.
I agree with your assessment of both cars.
I own a 2017 300c.
I love it.
Good job👍😁
I've never been a fan of the 300, but it looks good in some of the new colors for sure.
My dad kept telling me to review it.. it is a nice driving car for sure
Great video Racer X!
Thank you my friend..
Clay Cooley sends your credit to over 50 banks and drops down your credit a shit ton, used to work for Cooley
Thank you for that info.
I’m happy with my 2020 Charger Daytona 392 lol
Both cars needs ASAP whole new model
Funny thing about this is, the charger will hood its value more and longer than the 300 will - even tho both cars are about the same age in their old platforms
How so, actually I think you have it backwards.
In my area a 300 seems about 3K more expensive then a similar charger
Softer Seats in the Chrysler 300 because Luxury Car!
Great content Racer X as always
Much appreciated
I got a 2019 Chrysler 300 limited and I love it
Great vid as always. I just bought a 2018 300 and I really like the looks and the v6 is more than adequate.
I just put my beautiful 09 Ram into semi retirement at 185,000 miles.
I'm the original owner.
Love your vids and I have a plan to buy a Scat Pack in 2 years, it's gonna be blue with leather and a stick shift!
Edit
09 Ram is 5.7 Hemi and still gives me a thrill when I punch it!
Chrysler is supposed to be the luxury brand and doesn’t have leather seats as default lol
I hope they don’t get rid of the 300
Yes me too my friend
That's one of the reasons I traded my 2005 in for the 2019, fear of missing out of a great car ! Glad I stayed with the 300c.
Can you one with a fully loaded 300
Will you review a RAM TRX soon?
Make the 300 a convertible lol.... imagine a spacious luxury convertible 🙌🏻🙌🏻
i would buy that right now
Both cars are classic worthy all american big four doors. The lines of the 2015 and up (the last styling update), the 300 has that “Mafia look” or more executive style. As of this writing (December 2022), say goodbye to the 300. MY2022 was it for the 300. Such as great car ! Go buy one !!
Thank you for the comparo!
I saw lady driving Corvette C8 with RacerX license plate lol
I like them both, but the 300 seems more practical.
I've got a 300c awd v8, I love it.
Great review I own a 300 it's a great car.
Nice review man.. respect
Made me wanna go cruise in my 300 👀😏
I love my 2014 SRT 300
Since we're talking V6's, how about the Chrysler 200S V6? I know I love mine, I just want to know how it stacks in comparison to a Charger or 300 in feel
In terms of performance the 200 is actually faster with the V6 than the 300 and Charger with the 3.6 due to the weight difference.
I have an ocean blue 2018 300 limited love it! Watched this vid cause my boss wants to race her charger lol but did ya happen to review the 2023 300 with the hellcat engine? They sold out in 30 mins or so I would have loved to get one before the ev market destroys all these great gas cars
You do know they are both made in the same plant in Brampton Ontario along with the challenger
The trim levels he mentions for the 300 are not for 2021+ 300's btw
On my 2016 300C AWD you can change the steering from normal to light or sport. Notice a big difference!
Hey nice hat. Love my 300s. I have the v6 and it's no drag car but it goes. Awd. Cheers. I blow by anyone in the winter.
