Great video. I appreciate the work you did into making it. One suggestion is for you to JUST show the cards you are testing in the graphs/charts because having the other graphic cards there creates too much bloat making it very difficult to see the performance of what actually matters - the cards you are reviewing. Also please be consistent with the coloring of bars with respect to the legend.
Went for a MSI Suprim X 4080 Super - not the cheapest by any means but love the design and also wanted a quiet card. Originally was planning to hold onto a 2080 ti I had for another 6 months to a year or so but then it broke a couple of weeks ago.
I got the Zotac Trinity 4080 Super. One nice aspect about the card's "normal" height is that it gives the 12VHPWR connector wires extra room to bend before hitting the case. I would also guess that because it's a shorter card, there's less torque on the PCI edge connector and less chance of the board cracking at that point. The card does include a side support; though the card feels light and secure enough to not need to use it. So far, its fans are very quiet in normal operation. It seems that under load, my case fans are louder than the card's three fans.
What temperatures do you get?
I ordered this card but I am worried about the temps as this is the same cooler as the 4070 Super which uses 100W less.
@@thomasantipleb8512 Rendering the Classroom scene in Blender 3.5 at 400% size (3840px x 2160px), the GPU temps peak at around 61C, 68C, and 71C. (Idle temps are around 39C, 48C, and 50C.) The GPU Load is 93% and CPU Load 100%. Fans are spinning at around 1130 RPM. Rendering with the GPU finished in 4:23. I don't see any way to measure GPU wattage in my system.
By comparison, the same 4K scene rendered with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32-core processor took 59:22 minutes! So yeah, this card is extremely fast. My previous GPU was the RTX 2070 Super, and it was only slightly faster than the Threadripper at rendering Blender scenes.
I bought the same card on release day at Micro Center. It works great and I agree it's quiet and I can't hear it over the case fans. Haven't tried overclocking it yet.

@@calebhoo4193 That worked! Thanks. Trying that Blender rendering again, I get GPU Power usually between 190w to 200w, occasionally peaking as high as 210w. GPU Utilization is the same at around 91%.
AWD has the strix in white but there only 3 left so they are white but there not available everywhere its hard to find
you're wrong they do sell white zotac cards in the uk i have seen a few 4080 super ones on overclockers

Wanted to ask, do all cards fit on vertical brackets? My question is focused on AORUS MASTER (I bought cooler master v3 vertical gpu holder,, for my montech king 95 pro , so making sure size doesn't affect those, would like to put it on vertical position.

yes its more than enough as long as the vertical mount is about to slide (extend) but if you want a 100% fit go with the EZDIY-FAB riser mount since its the one I got for my AORUS Master 4090.
I have a 4090 Aorus Master and it's absolutely my favorite. I was worried that the plastic would bother me. But you can't really tell when it's in the case

I have the Aorus 4080 Super, and I can confirm it is 163mm. I have a fractal north, with less than 20mm to spare from glass panel
does the palit get enough power with only 2x 8pin plugs powering it
I wasn’t able to find the ROG strix White 4080 super in stock anywhere as I was up for hours constantly checking. Ended up going with the Gigabyte aero oc 4080 super. Less rgb but eventually I want to get a waterblock for it and water cool so in the end it’s all coming off anyway.
Curious why? The OC will net u maybe 5fps MAX on average with a liquid solution
I just liked the look better and had a touch more RGB. It will be few months before I set up a liquid cooling system.@@mr.c.3760
Is there any where to get their individual power limits listed somewhere? Assume that is the main factor in performance these days? I am upgrading from an ancient gtx680...to a 4080 super this is gonna feel so good.
Power limit means nothing without volts
Appears as though the zotac is the real winner if you don’t mind the basic small look. It’s a good option compared to spending more which appears most people want…
I’ve got a 2080Ti I’ve not touched for a while as it’s been plenty enough but thought i’d finally upgrade to a 4080 Super - I’m sure it’ll be a nice shuffle over 😁

I have a vertical mounted 4080 Super Master in my Lian Li O11 D and it bare fits. No way to have the glass on with the card not vertically mounted

I'm building a white desktop and there's only one shop that has white Zotac 4080 Super in my country. I'm thinking about it as it's cheaper than any other white card but those temps... Are they as bad as they look in the graph? 11 degrees difference from FE... Not looking good in my humble noob opinion.
White Zotac Trinity available on Overclockers UK. Both 4070 ti Super £829 and 4080 Super £1049. They have White Asus Tuf 4070ti Super. Though it's £950

There is a power graph on the website but its really not a lot of difference out of the box tbh. Youll have much bigger power changes depending on how your exact gpu overclocks and how you go about it. I still think you need a good brand 1000w psu to make sure you have the headroom to cope and still have it in a decent efficiency window

Cant find the aorus master anywhere
I got myself a Zotac today.. I didn't realize there would be this much difference in size.. I suppose bigger the better? Why is Zotac so small compare to others?? It seems they all perform similar.. if true, what's the reason to get a bigger card?
Zotac being smaller usually means one of two things or both. Smaller shroud means less heat spread which means higher temps. Higher temps means the card will eventually die faster and there's less headroom for overclocking. This also means they have to offset the heat disparity which usually is with fans, fans have to work harder to keep it cool thus being louder.
TLDR: Smaller usually means Hotter and Louder with less overclocking capabilities.
@@KlowdStr1fe the zotac is running cool for me with an overclock and not bothering to undervolt or anything. Barely warmer than my old 3070 ftw3 with massive heatsink (225w) even though this 4080 super is pulling 280-325w when loaded. Getting average of 68-71 after multiple hours at 100%
@@dubsessed9790 The new 4080 super are so efficient they don't need all these over sized heat sinks etc. Zotac is the perfect size.
4080 supers don't get that hot so can be smaller.
@@eplugplay8409 a lot of the aibs use the same shroud on the 4090 that they use on the 4080.

At idle speeds (browsing the web, etc.), the three fans on my Zotac Trinity completely turn off (0 RPM). Under heavy loads, my case fans are louder than the GPU.

Building white and got the zotac white for about 1080. Didn't want to pay the $200 extra for the white strix for the lights even though I have an rog board. I was thinking about just saying f it and spending twice as much for a 4090, but I'd rather wait a year or so and see what happens with next gen.

Edit: I bought the Zotac 4080super Ario AMP Extreme and crammed it in the Ridge XD its a $20 difference, but it has to be deshrouded

They were smart to keep it shorter than other models and more rounded, its the easiest one to fit in any case. It seems to be a well-built card thus far.
Edit: I meant the trinity zotac. The Airo was waaaay larger

Owner of a Zotac Trinity 4080S here.
I've noticed they're not as talked about in the GPU space, and you know what? That's fine. A lot of the other cards have been talked about and had a lot of videos about them, hence there was a bump-up on price as a result.
Will it beat the 4080S FE in performance? No. Will it still keep cool despite that? Absolutely it does. I also haven't run into the issue of a melting connector (fingers crossed) and I couldn't be happier.
There were two reasons why I chose this and not a 4090 or even any of the other 4080S's. Besides being unlucky in getting an FE, but in comparison to the 4090 which was WELL above MSRP - between $1900-2000 - I was getting only...20-25% bump up in performance and not 100%. Secondly was the aesthetic of the card. I love how non-boxy it looks. Reminds me of an EVGA card. Man do I wish they were still in the GPU market again.
Overall it's a solid pickup complemented with my 5800X3D. Gaming has never been more smooth.
Gig master has that lcd screen probably why it’s a lil larger. But it’s a great card. Have the 4090 of it. Cool and quiet.
Not in stock anywhere i've looked. With that said. Some of these supers are priced insanely high. The 4090 starts looking ok. Seeing the ram, and jump over the 3080 I have.
I want to bite the bullet on the 4080 Super Zotac Trinity as it's considerably cheaper than the rest.
I don't care about aesthetics but i do about Noise / Coil Whine. Does anyone have any thoughts

Mine is running perfectly so far, good temps and honestly my kraken cpu radiator fans are louder, so haven't noticed any fan noise or coil whine from the card when gaming.

I ended up getting the MSI Gaming X Trio in the end. I've had the same Model type in my RTX 2070 Super for years so thought I'd go for that Again with the 4080 Super.
It'd be interesting to hear what your experience with it is like down the road though !:)

I got mine for £1075 which was cheaper than than the higher end, "Asus Models" and I don't regret it
I'm glad the 7900XTX still retains is value with this launch.
Power consumption tho is a turn off
what you say - the 7900XTX will retain its value for another 3-4 years ... easily.

@@joj4096 yeah I can see it turning people off but if power consumption is that much of a deal breaker then those people shouldn't be considering this class of card in the first place. It would be nice to go back to Maxwell efficiency but until they get some sort of process node breakthrough then I think this will be the trend for the foreseeable future.

Reviewers never mention warranty. Zotac 5 year warranty is the deciding factor for me
The "upgrade" makes zero real-world difference. No one is going to notice 3fps. The real upgrade is the $200 "discount". Now it's closer to the price it should have been at launch ($800).
They came out with the 4080 super as not an upgrade for current users...but for people who are looking at a 7900xtx now they are in the same price range of 999. If you have a 4080 and looking for an upgrade...your going to the 4090...that's it.
It should have better UV/OC potential, but thats about it other than price
The upgrade makes 100% sense, its not targeted towards current 4080 users to upgrade.
But if you're looking to upgrade from a lower end card, its a no brainer to get the Super instead.
Honestly that's the only reason I got the card, I mean 200$ is 200$ lol 😅

At 4K, no. Actually that pairing is seemingly perfect together at 4k.
No bottleneck but some (poorly optimized) games might get an occasional "low" dip in some situations that one of the x3d cpus would "brute force" its way past. I went from 5600x to 7800x3d before upgrading my 3070 gpu to 4080 and the cpu/ram difference was noticeable, much smoother than before on average.

Are you selling the used gpu's after your reviews or do you return them? I can't find any to buy; I guess you reviewers bought them all. Even multiple ones. Can you sell a used one to me for $100 less? Because you used it. I hope retailers don't let you return them.
Pulled the trigger on the Aorus 4080 Super Master, was due an upgrade and was close to turning to AMD and buying a ASRock Taichi 7900XTX, but I had a discount available and the 4080 Super only ended up costing £50 more, no brainer really for access to both DLSS / FSR and improved RT.
50 pounds seems like a no brainer for sure, I'm dissapointed that 4080 super is still worse than 7900 xtx :v

The 4080 super isn't an upgrade for people who currently own a 4080...that upgrade would be a 4090. The 4080 super is for people on the fence looking at a 7900xtx. Same price point...with a slight upgrade from the og 4080 to compete with the 7900xtx in price and performance. The 7900xtx does beat the og 4080 in some games at a cheaper price...the super rectified this.
I don't have a PC yet so 4080 super would be better choice for me
I built a PC a little over 1 yr ago. Got a 6750xt for price/performance plus availability at the time. Been on the fence for a couple weeks between 7900xtx or 4080 super. Ended up going Aorus 4080 S. Plus I have the Aorus MOBO so that helped my decision as well. Will be installing this weekend! Can't wait.

I know there are thousands of people out there that would happily buy the non Super 4080s if Nvidia marked their price down by another $100 versus the Super pricing. (That bit closer to the $800 price they should have launched at)

Man i bet those people who had the 4080 are kicking them selves. But looking at the reviews it not really that great but a bit cheaper. Best question is it worth it?
If someone got a 4080 when they launched in October 2022 and they have been gaming on it for the last 15 months, I doubt they feel ripped off because the same card as launched with a slightly lower price point.
Now if someone bought a 4080 in the last month or two (which would have been stupid) they might feel differently.

not bought Amd anything in 15+ years but these last 2 gens of Nvidia and intel have made me seriously think about it.
the 4080 first release not having 20gb vram is pathetic for the price point, 16gb isn't much of a upgrade vram wise from my 2080ti and I'm definitely not forking out 2k+ for a graphics card.
7900xtx nitro+ and the x3d chips look more appealing than ever the way intel and Nvidia are going the 4080 should have been a £800 card at launch even with the reduction in cost it's still not a worthy upgrade to me with only 16gb vram its either the 4090 or 7900xt or xtx that make any sense 4080 seems meh at this price point.
I would pick the 7900xtx over this any day of the week for the money and i always go Nvidia.
