IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS POST THEM IN THE VRCHAT DISCORD AND PROVIDE SCREENSHOTS! I AM NOT ANSWERING QUESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION ANYMORE!
I don't mean to sound rude but I get comments all the time asking questions that could be answered with a simple Google search. This is a big reason why I have stopped answering most of my comments (unless I think they would have an interesting answer); I don't want to spend my time just answering simple questions (also one of the biggest reasons I haven't made a Discord server). Helping people learn these topics is often thankless work, and constantly receiving comments like that (sometimes ones that are in a rude tone or have terrible spelling and grammar) gets annoying after a while.
Everyone asks questions. Many of the smartest people have asked many, many questions. However no one is obligated to answer your questions. Research it first; the entirety of mankind's knowledge is at your fingertips - take advantage of it. The best advice I can give for asking questions is to ask them in the appropriate places (forums or respective Discord channels) and most importantly be considerate. Know that the person on the other end is taking time out of their day to answer your question, so please be respectful.
    Thanks,
    Icono

Incredible tutorial(s), I've been coming back to them as i was making my first ever vrchat world. They are short, understandable, straight to the point and simple! Thank you so much for putting them out there.
You may feel like your work is going unappriciated, but i feel like people love and cherish these tutorials more than you might think! However, with that said, i do want to voice my concern.
With these tutorial uploads and series, to many people you are their teacher. And understandably so. Your tutorials are easily accessable and understandable which is incredibly valuable if someone is picking up unity for the first time. When you don't know unity, the errors and issues you run into are often very confusing and you don't know how to even begin searching for the fix of them. So, people come here. They already see you as a teacher, and this is a very entry level tutorial, it's natural for them to ask their issues in your comments.
I understand your frustrations about people's questions, and i am so sorry to hear that you've been so fed up with all of that.
I just wanted to say when people ask questions in your comments section, it is not out of malicious intent (most of the time). And i do think you could have given this warning / announcement in a slightly better tone
but with that said, thank you so much again for your work and videos. they are really valuable to a lot of people.

That’s planned for the next video, you can read the written guide or just look up USharpVideo or ProTV they are both pretty much just drag and drop

Thank you so much! this helped me out immensely! I like how you're straight to the point and explain each component and what they do.
Quick question, are the physics materials built into unity now, if so, where are they? I ask because the link you put in the descript; that pack has been deprecated. I've worked with Unity before I know I've seen those martials in other assets I got from unity, so are they built in now or is there a new version?

    • @iconoclass
      @iconoclass  Год назад +3

Oh shoot, Unity removed the 2018 Standard Assets recently. They replaced it with 2 asset packs which include far less and are incompatible with the version of Unity that VRChat uses.
While writing this comment I got so fed up and just made a Github repository myself. Here you go: github.com/Iconoclass/Standard-Assets-for-Unity-2018.4/releases
I was writing the stuff below before I made the repo. I'm leaving it in the comment just in case.
I found a link to an .exe that will "install" the old Unity package. It just puts a folder containing all the different folders of the old asset in separate Unity packages.
Here is the forum thread: forum.unity.com/threads/where-to-download-the-standard-assets-for-unity-2018-2.543908/
And here is the direct link: download.unity3d.com/download_unity/d4d99f31acba/WindowsStandardAssetsInstaller/UnityStandardAssetsSetup-2018.1.0f2.exe
There is also a Github repo hosting them: github.com/jamschutz/Unity-Standard-Assets/tree/master/Standard%20Assets

If you mean you want to have your world quest compatible, you can do that by clicking on the tab that says vrchat sdk>control panel>builder. Then click on the button mid way down that says "switch build target to Android." That should do it.
