Dry aging worked. The only reason why it was dry after cooking is because there was no fat to add the “juiciness” back in. Fat doesn’t disappear during the process of dry again. It’s like how you can cook bacon with no oil.
Blah Uhm it won’t do anything to the $1 steak. The reason cuts like rib eye and wagyu are so juicy is because the fat is intertwined with the meat. Adding the fat trimmings to a steak would just mean cooking the fat right next to or on top of the steak, making it more oily, maybe an increase in flavor. But it wouldn’t do anything to the texture.

Imagine going to a restaurant and asking for the $1 “dry aged steak” and the waiter says “It’ll be ready in 45 days.”
I am still wondering where he gets this for $1.. i am the best grocery price shopper... i get all steaks half off and i still pay 2.50 at least for a cut like the video.. i can only guess he lives close or in south america where mcdonalds gets their hamburger for 10 cents a piece to america..
Ask for the pineapple one perhaps?

I bet the dry aging failed because there wasn't any fat to insulate it and keep it from drying out too much.
He should try dry ageing it for less days.
Dry aging worked. The only reason why it was dry after cooking is because there was no fat to add the “juiciness” back in. Fat doesn’t disappear during the process of dry again. It’s like how you can cook bacon with no oil.
I'd love to see a test where he adds the fat trimmings from other meats, perhaps from a cheap cut to wagyu, to the 1$ steak and see how that turns out
Blah Uhm it won’t do anything to the $1 steak.
This cut is used for Bresaola in Italy... It is not dry at all, it is nutty and very tender, but it is not for a stake... 😂 Bresaola is one of the most expensive delicatessen you can have. Xoxo
