Oh … here is a technical tip. Lift ur player to almost horizontal, hold on with ur finger on his kicking leg, press the button to put pressure on the leg, let go of the finger and all the power releases in one go (make sure the ball is rolling and not flying) … that trick will give u another edge over the opposition.

Haha, glad you found something that you like. I remember playing this with my cousin when I was very little. We didn't have computers or consoles back then and this was very different from other/actual board games. I would play it again for a laugh, but I'm not sure if I'd be too nostalgic about it.

I agree that Tipp-kick is the best dexterity footie game out there, indeed the best physical game (though I have a bizarre soft spot for Penalty, just my antediluvian childhood calling). I also like Road to Wembley and Street Soccer.
It will surely retain its crown, as the dominance of game-console football games inhibits designers from exploring the genre, unless they include Orcs, elves etc.

You find some very interesting games that I have never seen before. Thanks for showing this game. Looks fun.

There are tons of online additions - team colours, national teams and don’t miss the different legs ! One house rule question always is - do u have to kick or can u also throw ur player. Say ball is on goalline, my colour and goalie is about to push it away - can I throw my man to put the ball in as I won’t have time to set up a kick.

My rules say you can’t throw the player so I guess that’s that.

The copy I had as a kid, some 50 years ago, didn't have the barriers around the sides, and I must say they seem like a good idea because the ball would very frequently roll out of play and off the kitchen table. I think the barriers would prevent that, at least to some degree.
As you point out, the randomness of the ball is frustrating. I also find the control of the goalkeeper a bit wonky, because in addition to tilting him left and right, he can also be simply moved left and right, forward and backward, which I think gives the player too much control. I don't remember, but maybe there are rules against doing that and only allow the mechanical tilting.
Overall, I was never too impressed with the game.
FUBA, otoh, is a soccer boardgame I've been curious about for some time.

Football? Looks like soccer to me. 😉
I really enjoy how often you talk about dexterity games, which I feel a lot of reviewers dismiss. Great review! Keep it up! (Wonder if I can even get this in the USA).

thanks for this review, the only serious and well-made one I could find! for me, having children, the most important thing is easy assembly and disassembly. Are we sure there isn't a set that can help with this? I would also prefer a sturdier, less 'tear-prone' play mat. thank you so much!

I saw that now all the sets have the felt playing field 😉

The hooligan is your dog that eats the little plastic ball after it rolls off the table.🐶

Thanks for the review, I've never seen this either.
It's not a dexterity game, but have you tried Counter Attack? I've always been curious about it.

Lol - u don’t travel much to Germany. This is THE FOOTBALL game here for generations. We even have a world championship. All ur issues have been dealt with. 1) the old version are just a single map to roll out and play with no barriers (2min setup) 2) the better players have a weight on the base to make them stable (plus various shaped feet to lift, spin etc the ball 3) in good matches u always try to score from wherever you are (no need to worry abt the colour of the ball after u kick - u try to score ). I bet I can beat u !

No doubt. Maybe if I attend Essen we can put that to the test!

I agree, and you'd have more fun, I think. Tipp Kick is as wonky as it looks and sounds.
