Thank you, as Stage Five of kidney disease patient I become aware how much is diet important in controlling disease and delaying going to dialysis, although I must admit I felt in another trap, I was doing so good that I went into another extremity and thought that i can solve everything by myself without sharing experiences, but thank god I am still here and learned to appreciate middle way (no extremes of any kind) and appreciate advice of others (thank you for you lecture and for you 12 day program)

At stage 5, I would assume you need to go extreme in eating no more animal products and nearly no salt at all, since both damage the kidneys. Also crucial to not have high blood pressure and lower it with medication if necessary.

It seems like as if I could advise my kidney challenged
friends to fast for half of each day?
      What makes me say that?
The hope is that taking the pressure off of the kidneys for 12 or more hours will allow more healing time?
More time without any stress or tension or pressure on the kidneys in the entire system.
      Rest and repair.

Dr McDougall says that the rice diet can be done with either white or brown. I think this is incorrect as brown rice is much higher in potassium. Is generally not recommended people with compromised kidney function.
I also wonder how Kempner got to only 25 g of protein using 350 to 450 g of rice. That alone overshoots the 25 g nevermind any additional protein from the fruit.

@@PardieDiem so the reason why no one can agree on anything is because most people are making blanket statements and not taking into consideration that each person has different ailments and different nutritional needs. We need to just get back to natural things and asking our bodies what it needs.

@@PardieDiem I will say though that just because some people get kidney stones with those vegetables doesn’t mean everyone does. Some people might be lacking those for the kidneys to do their job. It’s all based on how much your needs. Stones are a result of too much in your body for what your body needs. I recommend getting blood tests to see what you lack and then see if the body needs a nutrient for body to manufacture naturally creating other nutrients your body needs to function.

I am in the same situation. As a type 1 diabetic, I avoid high glycemic fruits, limit sugar intake, avoid any type of fruit juices, avoid wheat based items (gluten free), and eat brown rice sparingly.
I could dose more insulin, but that is harmful to our bodies as well. And generally speaking, takes hours and then more insulin, to bring blood sugar level to normal after eating something high carb. Type 1 diabetes is already a daily battle- why add more insults?
I can go general plant based diet, but the Kemper diet would be detrimental to me at this point.
