Thank you, as Stage Five of kidney disease patient I become aware how much is diet important in controlling disease and delaying going to dialysis, although I must admit I felt in another trap, I was doing so good that I went into another extremity and thought that i can solve everything by myself without sharing experiences, but thank god I am still here and learned to appreciate middle way (no extremes of any kind) and appreciate advice of others (thank you for you lecture and for you 12 day program)
At stage 5, I would assume you need to go extreme in eating no more animal products and nearly no salt at all, since both damage the kidneys. Also crucial to not have high blood pressure and lower it with medication if necessary.
Very good article. There were quite a few areas of the video where the audio was not working properly. It seemed as though it was when Dr. McDougall was detailing lab results or things that would have been important to hear.
@@lorimaag2087 fyi the results will not be the same for one person as another, it all depends on the kidney damage. I fast for 18 hours every day from 19.00 to 12.00
It seems like as if I could advise my kidney challenged friends to fast for half of each day? What makes me say that? The hope is that taking the pressure off of the kidneys for 12 or more hours will allow more healing time? More time without any stress or tension or pressure on the kidneys in the entire system. Rest and repair. Sleep 🛌 and heal ❤️🩹 Do you disagree? Is there any reason that I shouldn’t recommend this and do it myself?
Very informative! 🙏 I really appreciate the excellent presentation. It helps to know in advance how the disease normally progresses and how to avoid some common errors at various stages of CKD. I have been plant-based for a while but I could/will definitely reduce my protein intake.
People and doctors assume high blood pressure causes kidney damage. Could damaged kidneys cause high blood pressure? Seems like it would start a vicious circle either way.
Dr McDougall says that the rice diet can be done with either white or brown. I think this is incorrect as brown rice is much higher in potassium. Is generally not recommended people with compromised kidney function. I also wonder how Kempner got to only 25 g of protein using 350 to 450 g of rice. That alone overshoots the 25 g nevermind any additional protein from the fruit.
I would like to see you talk with Jordan Peterson who talks about a all meat diet. I think it would be beneficial to discuss both sides and figure out why each one works and how they can work together.
@@PardieDiem so the reason why no one can agree on anything is because most people are making blanket statements and not taking into consideration that each person has different ailments and different nutritional needs. We need to just get back to natural things and asking our bodies what it needs.

I am in the same situation. As a type 1 diabetic, I avoid high glycemic fruits, limit sugar intake, avoid any type of fruit juices, avoid wheat based items (gluten free), and eat brown rice sparingly. I could dose more insulin, but that is harmful to our bodies as well. And generally speaking, takes hours and then more insulin, to bring blood sugar level to normal after eating something high carb. Type 1 diabetes is already a daily battle- why add more insults? I can go general plant based diet, but the Kemper diet would be detrimental to me at this point.
Is a high protein diet possible in children that have patents that push chicken/meat at meals? Child can be finished as long as they eat the chicken/meat. Never concerered about veggies, fruits or grains. Eat your chicken, and you get dessert. Can children in this situation be damaging their kidneys?
Anyone with kidney disease child or adult imho should not eat any sugar as it is so inflammatory. My husband is healing from AKI/ kidney failure after 3 open heart surgeries in 10 days time ending up with sepsis. He is currently on dialysis but getting better every day his numbers prove it! Clean protein no sugar/breads.

My kidney-stones passed with pain & blood because I didn't use the French Thyme Solvent..along with the expellants.
