I'm so sorry for the loss of this AMAZING Human Dr. McDougall. His teachings carried my health for the last 6 years. Thank you can never be enough. 😢 Thinking of Mary, Heather and family.
You've changed my life doctor- I was 20 when I started following your diet now 26, never going to change, and my family are changing too. I hope to live a long time
My deep condolences to Mary and Heather and Dr. McDougall's whole family and support team. We all loved him and will so miss him as his fans. He gave much to this world and was such a huge blessing. RIP
My deepest condolences for the family of the greatest doctor in the world, Doctor Jhon McDougall, we love you forever, thank you so much for your knowledge ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am so grateful for Dr MacDougall, who for over 50 years has been a man, a physician, ahead of his time. All the others are slowly catching up. Thank you, Dr D.
It is hard to think of living without listening to Dr. McDougall each week. Especially with Chef AJ. He has been an anchor to my healthy lifestyle. I will forever keep him in my life with his books and podcasts. May his family be comforted knowing how much this community loved him.
My condolences to Mary, Heather, and the rest of his family. I’m just finding out about this today, June 27. And I see that he died on the 22nd. How could I not have known about this sooner. This is heartbreaking. And I am in shock! And he’s one of these people who, when they die, you are in disbelief, thinking it can’t be true! He was one of my favorites. And he still is. And he is one of the biggest influences on my own vegan diet. And among all the vegan doctors, including Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, and Neal Barnard, John McDougall is by far my favorite! And I had always wished that some day, some way, I would get to talk to him or even interview him. He’s one of those people that you almost feel you know in person, just from watching his videos. A friend! And I wish that I could’ve met him. Shook his hand, and had a talk with him to clarify some things that people always give me flack about, regarding my own, McDougall influence diet. RIP, Dr. McDougall! He leaves a space that cannot be filled! But I hope it will be filled, and that his philosophy, and mission of a starch based diet will continue to be presented to the world. He was one of the voices of truth. And, in addition to his diet, I appreciated his much-needed criticisms of the medical industry, in general. Keep his body of work available! Even in his passing, the knowledge that he presented must continue to inform us. 💔
Dr. McDougal had so much energy & vitality in his voice. I have learned so much from him & his recommendations improved my health significantly. I am crushed he passed away last week.
Thank you Dr McDougall for giving us the knowledge needed for making a change of lifestyle. I have gone plant based since 2018 and reduced my body weight by 33 kg (roughly 70 pounds) and quit five medications. All I still need is a small dose of insulin in the morning. I reduced animal products back in 2012 in favor of more fruit and vegetables.
Condolences to the McDougall family. I learned of Dr. McDougall 4 years ago, lost over 25 lbs that I have since kept off. I used to have CFS but this lifestyle has made me an active mother. I have been able share this lifestyle with my family. Thank you for all your work!
Passionate to the end. Thank you for everything you gave so generously to your many followers and to the world. So glad to have met you and Mary and Heather in person during a 12-day program in Santa Rosa. You will be much missed. RIP, dear Dr John McDougall, and my heartfelt condolences to your family and all who loved you. Your legacy will live on.
I am forever grateful to Dr. McDougall. My sympathies to Mary, Heather and all the McDougalls. I will miss seeing him on the Sunday lives. I loved these hours and the hours he spent on Chef AJ live. What a generous man.
I had to come here to be with Dr. John and Mary and Heather. Such a beautiful kind family. I am in shock and disbelief. But ever so grateful for him and for everything he has given to the world. Thankfully these wonderful videos exist. So very sad that life ends for us all.🥺💔
Dr. Mcdougall, I enjoyed so much your lectures at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa and the food was amazing. I was hoping to see you there again. Your message will be passed on for generations to come.
Gosh, we're going to miss him. Thousands, upon thousands, will miss him. My condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, patients, and the many he reached through his books and RUclips channel. This was another great Sunday talk, and Q&A. Thank you, Dr. McDougall, for your integrity and generosity.
You will miss him buzzing in your ear about his starch vegetable diet. And at some point you will watch a u-tube video about carnivore diet and start a new diet.
Yes!! The Team is making a huge difference! For me, eating animal products my whole life - now eating whole food plant-based at age 43, I am a miracle, along with others here because of all your scientific data. I am now unable to unsee how horrible it is to eat animals and their products for my health and their rights. I am a new person because of you all. ❤🙏 Thank yoh!
Ohh no. I understand. My different diet also keeps me separate from my family in ways too. Keep on going anyway. It definitely pays off to stick to this way of eating.
@@fruitascension5089 What I meant was, when listening to the McDougall’s, I feel like a part of the family. They are so personable and relatable, and down to earth. I guess I should wrote that better, a part vs apart. My mistake. But on a side note I can relate to your response . I am the only vegan in my family. They think I am odd. I share the information on FB with friends and again, I get resistance.
I love listening to Dr. McDougall and I am so very much going to miss him. I always looked forward to Sunday evenings and I am grateful to have been able to watch this last episode live. God bless his dear family. Thank you for helping us.
Speaking his passion right up until the end. He's such an inspiration to me. Thanks for all you did Dr. Mcdougall, what a shock. My thoughts are with Mary and Heather.
I didn't know Dr. McDougall personally but I wish I had. I can only imagine how hard is for the family and friends when the news hit all of us so badly. Dr McDougall's books were what got me to change my diet and lose over 70 pounds. Have been eating a starched based vegan diet since 2017 and it has turned my life around. I'm so sad that he is no longer with us, but he lived a good life and gave so much that will continue on for generations.
Again, even though I need a stricter diet than the regular McDougall diet I truly value all of your knowledge. Thank you so much!!!! I only wish I'd known about your program years ago!!! I recommend everyone start with your diet!
Dear Maureen can't all go on his diet. As a ty 2 I find my sugar goes way up when I eat starches the way the Dr says, the medication he takes might account for him being able to be a starchovour. Since I take no meds I have to eat very little carbs
@@happycook6737 dear happy, I have tried every thing, even tried the carnivoure, because I wanted to see if I could get it to 4.6 but no luck. I am not complaining, because I have been able to have my A1C at 6.2. Since I never took medication in the over 20 something years I am quite healthy. When I tried the arnivoure which every one is raving about, 5 ozs it sent my sugar to over 11, then in the morning my sugar was 9.4. Never saw such numbers in all my mornings. Usually 5,8 or 6 in the A. M At one point I was upset because I coul not eat my desserts, when I ask my dr for metformin, she told me I did not need it, so I gave up. I am only trying to say that the Dr's starchovour diet might be good for obese people, but every diabetic I have met says it does not work for them. I guess I will have to follow my routine, meds are like the covid vaccine to me.
I am praying for your family. Dr. McDougall’s truth “it’s the food” is what I will always follow. Thank you kindly Dr. McDougall. Rest in heavenly peace.
« We will see you on June 23 » but then John left on June 22. Have the most exciting and adventurous soul journey Dr. Mcdougall. You are a very special soul. I feel honored to have learned so much from you and to have met you in person.,
You know I always loved Dr. McDougall even though I didn’t scribe to all of his beliefs. I do eat a little meat and cheese and I think it’s fine personally some of the longest living people have had a little bit of meat eggs and cheese but I agree that majority should be vegetable and grain But more importantly organic in this day and age. However I always admired his dedication and his concern for people. You don’t care doctors like this folks
I always admired his energetic and productive life he was a light that shined bright and inspired and will live through his legacy Dr McDougall is now an Idea
Condolences to the McDougall family. John's knowledge and quick wit remained until the end. Both John and Mary have seemed frail in these live videos over the past year, so his passing was not totally unexpected. I hope Mary is ok.
❤ agree I did have IBS and tried FODMAP did get some improvement but eating that way is so limiting. Tried your starch diet much easier to follow and result for IBS much better. So happy that I follow your advice, life quality is much better now.
@@enough425 easier to say what I excluded ; meat , dairy , processed foods, sweetdrinks and alcohol, otherwise I eat a little bit of everything, greens, beans, fruits, whole grains nuts, herbs and so on, but no favorite and no over consumption. Plus every day 15-30 minutes of light exercise and meditation.
@@enough425 No problem with the salads and other greens. What did give me some initial problems was the legumes, beans have a lot of fibers so bloating was * and still is an issue. Just eat less beans and onions.
Definitely, if you want to stop drinking caffeine, drink more water first thing in the morning before you get out of bed and then make sure you’re eating enough carbohydrates and don’t fear sugar. If you’re needing coffee, it means you’re looking for a stimulant to give you energy why not get that energy from water, extra sugar and go to bed early, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪
He literally lived one week after this live stream. He looks healthy. I don't understand. Absolutely devastating. I am wondering what happened. A disease? Vitamin and mineral deficiencies? REST IN PEACE, DEAR DOCTOR.
Migraines is something I know too much about!!!! My mom, also. I am on a mostly raw, WFPB, SOS-free (actually I do use a tiny bit of organic miso, so I do use this instead of salt). I also wear a 20 pound weighted vest to walk a mile every 2 or 3 days, and I jog a mile most days. Two times a week I do a 15 minute RUclips channel, "Kettlebell HIITT Workout - Fitness Blender HIIT Kettlebell Training" routine. The entire routine is 20 minutes, but I just do the kettlebell portion usually. I also eat a tiny bit of fresh garlic (less than 1/8 teaspoon) if I feel a migraine coming on. If that doesn't help I'll try a bigger dose. Ginger helps also, as does spinach (maybe the magnesium?). I haven't tried barbberies but I've heard it may help. If the garlic is too unpalatable try adding a tablespoon of crushed tomatoes.
Dr McDougall and Dr Greger probably has more info on all of this. But also try the garlic (1/16 teaspoon or less if you can’t tolerate the taste. You can work up to more.
Well I eat McDougall diet strictly and I still have to take pills for hbp...cholestetol...and constipation. So just imagine what it would be if I weren't on this diet.
Olive.oil is mention in the bible has been used for over 5000 years italian greek spanish and middle eastern food! Cmon man! I will continue to use olive oil!
I love potatoes, corn, rice all the foods the dr recomend, but in doing so my sugar goes very high. I do not take meds, but i have to be careful in using the starch diet. I really dont understan how his patients follow his food method. They must be vey sick or obese, because i just dont understand and i dont want to take insulin.
@@bernadettechute7998 I tried questioning him, but the daughter never reads my question. She bypasses, and reads another question. I have been a ty 2 for over 20 years, never took meds, but was always sure no to eat too many carbs. I weigh between 104 and 110 so I am not obese, but if I eat potatoes or rice, even 1 potato it goes way up, so I have to disagree wit him that we are starchavoures. I don't know how many medications he takes, since he had a stroke, but that might be difference between the Dr and my sugar.
There is a RUclips channel, the “Proof with Simon Hill” that has several podcasts that address treating diabetes with plant based diet. Also, “Physician’s committee for responsible Medicine”. Basically though, it’s about making one’s cells more sensitive to insulin (so that the glucose can be used as it should be and not floating around in the blood stream). Fat in cells block the receptors for insulin. Everyone’s blood sugars will go up after eating. Sugar not going back down (being properly used) is the problem. Wish you well with your health issues!
They eat a very low fat diet, you don't go obese if you are eating just vegetables, fruit and starches. It's the fat in cells that's causing diabetes type 2.
Rest in peace, Dr McDougall

I do eat a little meat and cheese and I think it’s fine personally some of the longest living people have had a little bit of meat eggs and cheese but I agree that majority should be vegetable and grain But more importantly organic in this day and age. However I always admired his dedication and his concern for people. You don’t care doctors like this folks
My deepest condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. ❤
I always admired his energetic and productive life he was a light that shined bright and inspired and will live through his legacy
Dr McDougall is now an Idea
Deepest sympathy to Mary and Heather, I am shocked by the passing of Dr McDougall. A very special man.
Condolences to the McDougall family. John's knowledge and quick wit remained until the end. Both John and Mary have seemed frail in these live videos over the past year, so his passing was not totally unexpected. I hope Mary is ok.
I agree-he hadnt looked well for a while.
Sharp mind and good energy; didn't come across as frail to me.
Rip Dr John
I'm glad Dr. McDougall felt good until his last day. I will really miss him.
❤ agree I did have IBS and tried FODMAP did get some improvement but eating that way is so limiting. Tried your starch diet much easier to follow and result for IBS much better. So happy that I follow your advice, life quality is much better now.
Can you share what you eat in a day that helped your IBS
@@enough425 easier to say what I excluded ; meat , dairy , processed foods, sweetdrinks and alcohol, otherwise I eat a little bit of everything, greens, beans, fruits, whole grains nuts, herbs and so on, but no favorite and no over consumption. Plus every day 15-30 minutes of light exercise and meditation.
@@peteroffpist1621 thank you -did raw salads and veggies hurt your stomach
@@enough425 No problem with the salads and other greens. What did give me some initial problems was the legumes, beans have a lot of fibers so bloating was * and still is an issue. Just eat less beans and onions.
Will miss your enthusiasm, Dr. M
Rest in peace, Doc. You will be dearly missed. ❤
I’ll never watch one of these again 😔
🕎God Bless you Dr McDougall. ♥️🌹🕊️
''We will be back June 23rd 5pm Pacific'' OMG OMG OMG 😭😭😭 What happening to him. OUT OF THE NOWHERE. HE WAS HEALTHY, THIS CANNOT BE TRUE😭😭😭
My condolences to his family
R U moving your bowels good. My headaches come from being constipated
Absolutely-eat the spinach (magnesium!!!!) and all those greens!!!!
It also mentions plucking your eye out......
@@ceeemm1901yep lots of metaphors in the bible
Love black coffee only 1 or 2 per day....doesn't effect me negatively......Mary glows at nearly 80😉
What about cold brew coffee?
Rest in peace Dr McDougall, you will be missed 🙏🙏
Stainless Steel Coffee Filters should list Mesh size: 800 mesh = 12 microns, 600 mesh = 16
Rest in peace doctor 🤍🕊️
Live Video just from 11 days ago.
Doctor was so bright and positive as always. Really big loss. Pioneer with huge courage.
Concerns about this as well. I don’t hear him responding to this concern
@@pastryshack551 Try watching Dr. Barnard or Mastering Diabetes discussing this issue.
It's the fat in cells that's causing diabetes type 2.
no sabia que habia cesana en california menos reposo
