I went in for my yearly physical & found out I was in stage 3 kidney failure & that I have about 15 years left. I had NO IDEA!!! They retested me after a month of drinking lots of water and no longer taking Excedrin Migraine. My numbers went down and I was out of kidney failure by one point. It's been another year and I'm about to get them tested again. Wish me luck! 🍀

I started getting the symptoms you describe years ago. I TOLD my doctor about them and he blew it off. I gained a lot of weight, then lost 60 pounds in a month without trying. The doctor said “tell me how you did this. I need to lose weight, too!”. While he was on vacation, his replacement told me I had diabetes. The regular doctor NEVER tested my blood sugar! I’m stage 3 CKD now. The “old” doctor retired before I found out. I C went to a nephrologist and now HE is blowing it off like I have nothing to worry about. They all failed me. Even if someone listens now and tells me what I need to do to live a few years longer, it’s too late. Start keeping an eye on yourself young, don’t think doctors know what they’re doing for you, they don’t. Lay off salt and processed foods. Watch RUclips. You’ll get better information.

It is not too late. Do your research and study the foods that can help you with your kidneys. Also, we only need one kidney to survive so if you do your research you can find the countries where you can get a kidney transplant ( might be expensive but this is a major life saver) good luck and may God bless you!

Im sorry this happened to you but this is dangerous and terrible advice. If anyone feels like their doctor is irresponsible they should get a new primary care provider and also seek second or third or fourth opinions. I do my own research and if my doctor doesn’t acknowledge it then I know they don’t do their job bc patient education is something a good medical student learns next to good bedside manners.

      @Socialling 11 месяцев назад +37

@@aarbar6615 that’s terrible, I’m sorry you experienced that. Every one should have decent healthcare wherever they are. That said, I’d take a 15 hour wait if it gave me what I needed for peace of mind about my body/health. But I’m also a black woman who has to navigate healthcare knowing no one will advocate for me as much I will and that there are enough systemic biases that are finally being addressed in medical schools about the inequitable care given to certain groups. Best of luck to you in your journey.

I had kidney problems. When I urinated, there was foam rising out of the top of the toilet. I suffered from fatigue and other things that I didn't recognize as a kidney problem. Soon thereafter, I went paleo, then keto, then carnivore. Apparently I reversed all the problems by kicking out carbs, grains, seed oils, starches, bread, and all that crap... in favor of meats, saturated fats, supplements, etc. I feel like I dodged a bullet... PLUS I lost 73 pounds in the process and I wasn't even trying to lose weight, but obviously needed to do that too. The whole process has taken about 5 years so far. Happy!

I strongly agree with Joanna! This was a thorough yet simple & detailed explanation of kidney disease! For me, it was presented in language that I could understand. My doctors attribute my case to the contrast used during diagnostic imaging for a colon cancer diagnosis 5 years ago. That contrast is quite toxic to the kidneys. My lab work has revealed a stage of kidney disease between 3 & 4. So now I’m on a strict, ‘No Sugar Added’ diet in the hopes of stopping it in its tracks. I’ve heard that Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) can’t be improved or cured but it can be stopped from progressing. Thank you for your informative video.

      Hi,
I don't know you, but would you please ask your Doctors to order Liver Function tests to see if your liver enzymes are raised.
You complain of itchy skin, borderline diabetes and right sided pain?
Right quadrant pain along with those other symptoms may indicate a liver issue.
I am NOT a medical professional but had all of your symptoms and was subsequently diagnosed with deranged liver enzymes.
There is also a link between liver disease and high blood sugar.
The liver is highly resilient to repeated insult- up to a point. So again please go and get that tested along with your kidney function to at least rule it out.
      Blessings

Back in the mid 90’s I had a sports doctor that had prescribed me Naxin Naproxen 500mg's for 1.5 years for my carpal tunnel syndrome which had caused 50% of my kidneys to malfunction. Just this year after doing much research, I started taking Pure Premium kidney repair pills 500mg, vitamin K2 MK-7 500mg & vitamin D3 1000IU, 200mg Co Q-10 and 100mcg Selenium or you can eat 3 Brazilian nuts for Selenium. If you incorporate this with eating low sodium and low sugar foods with fish and white meat I ended up bringing up my EGFR from 51 to 62 in just 3 months! I even included a cheat meal once a week having a red meat meal and my EGFR still went up 11 points in just 3 months! I hope this will help you and others trying to bring up their EGFR! What I had found really good is I always had a fruit smoothie first thing in the morning "strawberries, pineapple, 1 scoop of Subi Greens or Red Beet powder mix" and my first meal was always one whole egg, ¼ portion/mini carton of egg whites from Costco, green onions and 2-3 slices of low sodium turkey cut up in a scrambled egg with a handful of Jasmin rice which is light and easy on the kidneys. My other 2 meals will always consist of a handful of carbs/protein and lots of steamed vegetables in the last 2 meals and I know that had also contributed to bringing up my EGFR.

I’m 64 and I usually see my doctor bi-yearly and do my bloodwork at least a week in advance because of my hypothyroidism, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. The previous bloodwork done 6 months before was fine but on my visit in Feb, it showed the dosage was was too high. In the past 15 months I had dealing with chronic nausea and vomiting and had dropped 60+ lbs, which is a significant amount of weight loss. I thought it was all due to one of my sons being extremely sick for the past 12+ months and ending up in palliative and hospice care and passed away Oct 2022 at 37, from kidney failure and severe Gastropharesis. Six weeks later, I don’t know why but I wanted a 2nd opinion and decided to change PCP’s since I had moved an hour away I found one 5 minutes away. I didn’t think I’d get in right away but I did and she did more bloodwork and I also saw a Gastroenterologist as well. He did some tests and I was diagnosed with Gastropharesis. My old PCP never mentioned anything about my kidney function, but when my bloodwork from new PCP came back it was drastically reduced and she sent me to see a nephrologist 3wks ago. He said 41% isn’t that bad for my age but that could change if I don’t take care of myself. All I can say is that I’m so thankful that God put it on my I decided to listen to my body and my heart and changed doctors. My son left behind his beautiful wife and my only grandchildren, 2 precious little boys,2 & 7, and I really want to see them grow up.

Very interesting video. I also have CKF and experienced some of those symptoms and had no idea my kidneys were failing. Probably was failed at the point of symptoms anyway as Dr. Omole explained. Mines came at the age of 32 from complications at child birth from my youngest child. I went into Pre eclampsia. Blood pressure elevated while in labor. I am now on dialysis for35 years now. I read in a comment the doctor told him he had 15 years left. Doctors can not predict that. It is not a death sentence. Yet it hasn’t been easy. Also changed my life completely. My doctor overlooked everything which could have possibly avoided kidney failure. Therefore the doctors advice in this video is excellent When your body is telling something, listen. Request these test she recommends Stay aware and be proactive. Don’t wait till it’s too late. Thank you for this video which is so on point

If i had my time again, i would completely changing my eating habits. Cut out animal proteins, especially red meat. Diseased kidneys have problems processing the protein. Any bad habit cut them out immediately. Dont wait for your medical team to point you in the right direction. Most will just throw different drugs at you. Yes its ok to feel shocked and scared when first diagnosed. However be your own advocate. Research everything. Cant be bothered making healthy changes? Well let me tell you, it will just get worse. I wish someone had been brutally honest with me in the beginning. Instead i was pumped full of steroids, put on 3 stone. My hair thinned badly due to other medications. I had kidney stones and so I spent some time to research why I was getting these stones and I found that many issues are connected to the kidney problems and the Insulin levels produced by the prostate and pancreas . One of the clear signs of CKD is hair loss , kidney stones , swollen prostate , bloated stomach , fatty liver , You need to flush your system and have a life style change , Keto Diet , cut out the carbs , potatoes , bread , noodles, rice , your body turns all that into sugar , and sugar will make you fat , but it will spike your insulin levels , and if you do this for 10 years , to much insulin damages your kidney's , so if you wash down that pizza with a beer , and top it off with a chocolate bar and a piece of pie , your sugar levels are going to make your kidney's work over time , It is never to late to change but you must do it today , Lemon with apple cider vinegar and water every morning is a good start to cleaning out your kidney's .

You are an angel. God bless you for doing this for others. My Daddy passed away in 1993 of a heart attack while he was already in hospital. I rode in the ambulance that last time with him. Listened to them lose him a couple times. He never came home. Hed had Type 2 and HBP for many years. For a time I lived with my parents with my daughter. I used to do his dialysis. Im so thankful I had that time with him and my Mom. They eventually were given a machine but it certainly is NOT an easy thing to deal with. You are so right! He got an infection at one point, peritoneal or perineal? Ive no doubt you know. They had cats and it was so difficult to keep everything berm free. There were 5 of us kids and he put his foot down that none of us could even be tested. His parents passed because of the same thing and he was adamant that we might need both kidneys. I wish I had pushed harder, he was only 62 but already legally blind. But he was right. I am 62 and just recently diagnosed with Type 2. I takemy HBP meds faithfully and my Rybelsus. My Mom and Dad did not always. My Mother passed in 2021 from colon cancer. She never would get checked for that either. She was in hospice lock down the last year and we never got to actually see her in all that time.
Your message is so clear and concise and human to human. Much easier to hear than from some doctor who is condescending or bored. Thank God my doc isnt like that. But I already had the scoop Im afraid. Theres alot of people out there would need to watch your vids. Alot of people who like my dear sweet stubborn Mom, who was 86 when she passed. A person who believed you only take themeds when you feel bad. Like hypertension meds. Mine is under control and my A1c etc took a dive pretty quickly after my doc gaveme water pills as well and I dropped 25lbs. Im having some trouble acclimating to the timing of the Rybelsus and the fact that I have arthritis and stomach issues. The stuff really knocks me out.
Anyway I just wanted you to know and anyone who sees this that you are doing an amazing service! Please take care of yourself and thank you again🙏🪽❤ also there are some kidney and urinary issues with both of my grandsons. Granddaughter seems ok thank God. But theyre all adults so its harder to get thru since you cant make them. Like my daughter who refused to go to the doc at all now. She almost died from liver failure. No matter how much I go to the gym (aerobics, weights), take long walks outside, do strenuous yardwork, I can't seem to lose the weight.😕

@@coffeeonthedeck6258 exercise is scam. See those who have walks they are more hungry and eat more...this is what one doctor told. Diabetic is the result. Just drink daily bittergaurd juice with lemon or jamun a few table spoons and check your blood sugar. Drink ash gourd juice a glass with lemon till few days like 15 to 20 days . You can have fresh lauki/bottle gaurd juice but beware it should be sweet. If bitter it's poison . Few days u can have it's juice. Google videos for weight loss naturally. Be safe. Don't stress . Read Psalms 91,103 ,24,25,121 etc Try listening Sid Roth videos . 🎉

So clear and concise. I’ve got chronic kidney disease stage 3 but, my fatigue is ridiculous. I’ve lost 23lbs. In the last six months and I’m kind of nausea every morning and I don’t like to eat. I thought I was losing weight because I was inadvertently fasting. But, I was just told I have 4-6 years before I go on dialysis.
    Psst… I won’t be going on dialysis.

Are you drinking at least 2.5 liters a day? Check your systolic BP...if it's below 120 it may indicate you're dehydrated. I found that 12 hours on a saline drip fixed me right up. All my renal tests returned to 100% normal. If you get too dehydrated, it's hard to rehydrate from acute dehydration by drinking water alone. It's like running your car with just 1 gallon of gas in the tank. Once you've pissed that gallon away, you're running on empty again, and feeling like crap. Top up the "tank" with saline so you're not running on fumes most of the time. I'd do this before taking any kind of kidney treatment. Most docs don't seem to understand dehydration very well, in my experience.

Hearing you state the signs he is also very itchy and his skin is flaking profusely like if he had dandruff coming off his skin. 😭 I too have noticed I’m itchy and I have bumpy patches in different parts of my body like a rash but I don’t know if my kidneys are bad I am certainly going to ask my doctor to run those tests on me and have his doctors run all the tests on him as he is a diabetic and has high blood pressure as well along with having several strokes and a heart attack.. thank you so much for sharing I Pray you are doing good.

Very tired and swollen eye pockets. Here in UK, we have very good NHS, but the process says that i need to have 3 times positive results, before even a treatment can start. Then, we have a waiting time of 2 years to see a renal conaulrant in the hospital. I started myself SGLT2 , now protein leak gas reduced. Thank u so much for yr video. I bought the test strips from Amazon. Hats off to u. Regards Dave

I agree with Joanna Davis, the best presentation of issues regarding kidneys. I have most of these signs and do regular blood check. Fortunately everything is just starting now, but it is right what you say, all the pain you are suffering is whort, because you do a fantastic job, explaining what brought you to dialysis. I have a couple of friends in dialysis, same age of me (60) and I know how change life. Unfortunately we do not put that much attention in early signs and the damages are getting more every year. This video should be used in schools, teaching to youngsters to take care of themselves. Health is the primary value we have and goes together with time. All the rest is not so fundamental. One healty person can do anything… all my best to you.
    And thanks, really thanks.

You explain things clearly, simply, and thoroughly with action points for us to try. I'm in the UK, and though we have the NHS, and as such "free" medical services, I find that due it being so near collapse, and with the multiple, serious conditions I have, a lot of important warning signs are missed by overworked doctors, and poorly-resourced services, that many of us are then paying for tests and medications which are not available on the NHS (which we already pay for through our income, anyway). It is videos like this which are saving lives, but if one cannot afford these diagnostic tests that are not readily available on the NHS, it is clear to see why there is a high instance of late diagnosis of Kidney Disney, here - and then even more pressure on the NHS, due to kidney dialysis and clinic visits. It's madness.
Thank you for all you do.

I've been hearing in the last few years that the medical system in the UK,which was once very good,is creeping towards privatization and service itself isn't so great either. America has been this way for 42 years, thanks to Ronald Reagan. We have Medicare, but the Neoliberals are hot to cut it way back. Neoliberalism, starting with Richard Nixon, has done more to erode our middle class lifestyle, than anything else save the Great Depression of 1929- 41 !! I'm sorry to see this happening in the UK. Should have known that after what Margaret Thatcher did, the same would befall you over there, and Canada also !! This seems to be the case for all English speaking countries.

You're blessed to live that long on dialysis as the average is 5 yrs while a high # don't do well after 2 yrs all bc dialysis centers often have patients skip one day a week to keep them on a 3 times a week schedule instead of every other day continuously. Studies have shown that when 2 consecutive days without dialysis occurs, many people die on the day they return to dialysis after that 2 days in a row without dialysis. It's done on purpose as there aren't enough dialysis centers in country to handle the # of people needing dialysis. It's all by design. Sad to say this. Best to you.
