So so helpful! I just bought a 2019 C-HR and watching this helped me learn what a couple of the buttons did that I was struggling to figure out! So, thanks!
How are you enjoying the car? I just ordered a 2020 through Carvana and am waiting anxiously for it. Is it holding up well. Thanks for answering if you do!
I just bought a 2019 XLE model with the two tone color scheme and love it! Toyota really spent the money wisely on this vehicle to make it have premium features found on much more expensive vehicles and all bundled with that Toyota reliable. My family and I LOVE it! Thanks for the video. I learned about features of my car I did not even know. Well done.
I just bought this car two days ago. My 1st car. Thank you so much for really teaching me about this car. I am extremely grateful. Had to subscribe right away. Amazingly great content 👏🏿 👌🏿 👍🏿.
Nice reviews. We purchased our Toyota CHR KOBA AWD 1.2 Lt Turbo petrol (top of the line). However for some reasons it varies cross globe. In Australia we only have 1.2 lt Turbo with a choice of FWD or AWD. In the North America a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine with FWD only. In Europe they have Hybrid models. Having said that, I'm very happy with our decision on CHR despite of comments. There's a hidden safety features that's most people probably aware of (only if you get nav system) e.g. red / speed cameras alert, school zones, real time traffic accidents alert, town centers warning, speed limit alerts if you going too fast and prompt to slow down. The standard features include adaptive driving cruise control, blind spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross traffic when reversing alert, lanes departure warnings with passive steer assist (steer back into your lane), control crash avoidance with pedestrians braking and fatigue monitoring system, active yaw with torque vectoring/transfer system (AWD only) and LEDs daylight running and frog lamps and LEDs tail lights, concentration alerts (not holding steering wheel with both hands)... just name a few. All this safety features you have to setup yourself not dealerships. We sold our European cars because it break after 4 years of ownership and spend more times in dealership's workshops, we don't know if our pure bad luck. We took decisions and believe Toyota has the reputation of reliability compared to the European cars. Now we have Toyotas RV4 GLX (5 years) and CHR Koba AWD (5 months), respectively. No more headaches and endless money pits. Our problems solved.
I never liked how small sub-compact crossovers are but I do like the Subaru Crosstrek and the styling of the Honda HR-V is growing on me. And the C-HR in silver is starting to grow on me Sam with the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross looks good to me in blue.
Thanks for your video. I just leased the 2019 XLE, drove it home yesterday. I’ve had my eye on this car for a few months ever since my old lease was already coming to an end! I’m super excited to drive my new car! I love it!!!
Great review as always, very detailed. Actually considering purchasing a Toyota C-HR in the next few months....perfect timing. Thanks for all your hard work and input you put into all your reviews. 👍🏻
Odd that they didn't change the headlights to LEDs for the 2019 model. Nonetheless, if I was in the market to get this car, my recommendation would probably be the XLE trim since it has all the loaded goodies of the 2018 XLE Premium and maybe some unmentioned add-ons. Nice review by the way.👍
Give it the new Corolla Hatchback's engine and transmissions (and AWD, LED head + tail lights, etc), and this would be an overall definite improvement over the prior model year.
We have a 2019 Highlander Hybrid Limited and bought a new 2019 C-HR.... last week....I live in an area where 6 miles over the limit, you are ticketed... all that pep is wasted... 0 to 60 in 6 seconds is not a priority.... I've owned sports cars and wasn't looking for one... I wanted a sporty economy car for local driving with safety features.....We were looking at Camrys... I wanted this in a hybrid with AWD.... But for 23K, not going to happen... On the freeway I have zero issues merging.....This is a subcompact crossover, not a sports car.....though it is very sporty. I love the styling... The safety features and interior were persuasive... For long distance,, I will drive the Highlander... I wanted a car that sets up higher for the driver, down not in a hole.... Lots of large SUV's and full size trucks where I live and small low cars are not a plus...I love our Highlander but we paid 21K less for this and the combination of those vehicles is great... No kids, Just the two of us.... You completely left out that Toyota's quality and reliability should put this at the top of the list....If having a lot pedal to the metal is a top priority, then this may fail that specific requirement.... I am so less interested in that.... As long as I can get on the freeway safely, I'm good. I don't care for the back window visibility, but I rely on the lane sensors and cameras.....I find most of the newer cars don't have the best visibility.....Our Highlander included....I thought this review was unnecessarily critical and didn't account for safety, which for many people, is a top priority.....
Been waiting for this review! Any chance you could get your hand on a CH-R LE? After all, that's a new trim and I'd like to see what's included on the base. Thanks in advance!
Great review Mike! I couldn’t wait for this review! I think this car is so unique and I test drove one the other day. It is very sluggish and the CVT is very annoying but the looks are amazing. Not too keen on the piano black being on the steering wheel, I’d be constantly cleaning it.
Great review! I have a 2018 and after having it for 5 months, I use it as my daily driver for work and errands, but I can see myself adding a more luxury car in the next 5 years as the CHR reminds me of a weekend and errand car. It is a bit slower than expected by its sporty look. Either way, coming from a Nissan Juke, this one is still nice to look at and I get a lot of questions about it. :-)
I owned a juke before this and it is a little bit bigger on the inside but not nearly as nice and also if you’re looking for something that’s going to last you over 100,000 miles I would avoid anything with a turbo. Turbo engines are fast but all have more issues as they age cost alot to fix. Unless you bought extended warranty it’s usually after your warranty has expired that the turbo start to go out. Aesthetically I find this to be a lot like the juke either you like the way it looks or you hate it I personally like something that looks a little different than everybody else.
Due to computer error the electronic brake on my 2016 Civic engaged while I was driving the car. The Honda service department technicians said they didn't do anything that addressed/corrected the problem. Honda customer service said the brake problem was fixed and refused to compensate me for my losses from trading the Civic for a 2017 Accord without the electronic parking brake. The only way to get rid of the problem was get rid of the Civic. I wonder if the same engineers designed the 737s
Am I the only person who does not like power seats? Since I take naps at my work parking and kine to get my seat down in a second or move back, power is too slow.
Richard Lewis I have the same question. I wish they would allow us to buy and upgrade, but I imagine that’s how they up sell their cars, so it might be a no. 🤷🏾♀️
Swarthy Daisy when I had my car in for service . One of the workers said that it a simple radio update. I’m going to check it out when I get an oil change.
It’s a nice car and whatever but Toyota needs to redesign this to be an actual Toyota under the TNGA platform since this car was originally meant to be an Scion
Darryl :D It is a Toyota under the TNGA platform.... they updated the bells and whistles to make it feel more like a modern Toyota than a low-rent Scion that it initially was. (hence - the transition from Scion to Toyota) Even the Scion C-HR Concept that this car is based off was under that platform.
During 17:53 in the video, Why does this car only have 92 miles driving range with half tank? So basically it only has around 200 miles with full tank??!! Am I understanding it correctly?
So what is t point u trying to make when reving up t engine? Pls dont do it, no need for it, u wouldn't do that to your own car, it is a very bad habit, thank u for t review, hope u will eventually make better videos
And by the way, the C-HR for 2019 has the LE as the base trim, the XLE as the mid-trim, and the Limited as the fully loaded trim.
XLE Premium is dead.
Do you know what the 2019 release date is?
Alana Bailey It went on-sale several weeks ago as far as I remember.
This video does demonstrate that the 2019 MY is currently available.
Another feature is the paint, it is self healing for light hairline scratches. In hot sunshine the paint warms up and can seal up scratches. Clever.

I like the radical look that Toyota is trying to do with this car.

I love the little yellow hand!
I don’t like that they removed a ton of features for the us version
Señor Loco ...I'm sure you are referring to the prior model year.
Senor loco🤣🤣🤣
Maybe it’s because it’s new to the US market, I guess if Toyota sells more of these, they will ad more features.
Would have made sense to use the 168hp Corolla engine vs 144hp here.
Henry Estes And also its CVT which works a lot better, and its 6-spd mt for manual transmission junkies.
They probably will do that once they redesign the CH-R :/

So.. Toyota still has no plan to add Android Auto in late December of 2018?
Awesome and very detailed video! I'm considering buying one and you helped me make my decision easier. Thank you!
Great review!

Great review! Does it come with automatic starter & sunroof?
I love the pointer!
I have just booked it . Thanks for such a nice video.
I love the car but if it had power seats It would be really great
Or a trunk button😐

Downloaded engine & receive error msg of "no internet connection" when going to maps. Using Apple iPhone. Help!
Hey Mike can you do an in depth tour of a 2018 Mazda cx-9
Great review!
I wish the 2018 radio could be updated by software to Apple car play. Is that possible or is it wishful thinking?
Great review as usual, please Mike do the nighttime review. Thanks.
I have a question. Is there any way to turn the monitor OFF? I have this car and cant find a button or anything about it in the manual. Thank you!
Does the xle still have the cool light projector on the sides? Does it also have the S.O.S. button?
I have the XLE and it does have the light projector, but I don't know what the S.O.S. button is...
thanks for the review
Does the Advance version come with GPS system? Or is it exclusive of the Plus and superior versions?
Looks Amazing! 😎👍
Is the dash leather or some other kind of soft to the touch material
It is not leather
I saw one today with sunroof its a nice looking car i want one and badly.

@@ghalieadalia8105 from guatemala but i saw it in norther virginia USA
@@superblessed8186 There's no sunroof option on the CHR.

The range is an estimate using prior driving history. This vehicle has only experienced the parking lot.
Wait. This is a 2019 vehicle. What kind of clearance bin ass key remote is that? That can't be real
Is it worth getting in 2021
Where can i find a cigarette lighter from the chr?
Spare tyre , full size at that. All we get here in UK are lousy repair kits !
Hey Mike can you do a review on the 2019 Honda HR-V please?!!
Abdur Rahim yes, i’d love to see that too!😊
Does this have heated seats or auto start?
I love it
this car needs an 1.6 TGDI like mototr that has around 170hp..
Toyota should bring back the xB
Lane assist only work during Cruise control???
Nope lane assist works even if your not on cruise control
No, it doesn’t.
I have 2018 and there is nothing different between them
Yes there is. Infotainment and rear cam moved to screen
I’m dying😂😂😂

2019 Hoda Vessel
I’d rather have a silver one.
My dad had this for a rental, in silver he said it’s nice.
I genuinely like this car...but that engine tho. Why so small and slow.
Great car for your teenager kid who just got his/her license.
Yes it’s slow but drives very nice
Never been so early

Oh god! Just get 2019 Rav4 instead of this car 🙄
Whole lot a plastic...
Sorry Toyota but this car looks awful!!
Opinions are like arm pits, everyone has them and they all stink in their own way
Come on design engineers, you can do better! This design is too busy, and ugly!
